First and foremost: Let's not let the last game bleed that much into this one plz, this is it's own game, you wanna discuss the other one, go to that thread. It's fine to reference it, but personally it's a bit too dominant right now.

Unfortunately, posting half-hearted (am I allowed to use another word there?  What exactly is PG-13?) reads that I'm not sure if I'm supposed to take seriously isn't enough to get me to clear you.

 

 

You can say shit (just don't call anyone a shit), damn, bugger, darn, you can even say ass (just don't call anyone an ass, unless they have a donkey avatar) but you cannot say rude words refering to genitalia or the F word (Although abbreviations are fine, like omfg if you roll that way). I think that's the main parts covered.

I'm aware you were the mod, and what? How do you feel about Amega, do you agree his posting seems a bit off here? Do you think it compares favorably to Red Wedding?

 

I do have some hestiation on lynching Amega.

 

1) He's already posted more volume than I'd expect. He lurked a lot as scum with me.

2) I remember him being an underwhelming townie, so it's possible this is just how he is.

3) Mish's vote on him bothers me because she MQ'd a bunch of posts yet none of them are about amega. I may even vote for her to get some more action going ITT.

You don't know Basel so you're unused to his meta.  He sucks at playing as scum (though his GF is a different story).  He can't fake anything really and that makes him fun to read.  He typically tries to overcompensate and thus ends up making very safe posts as mafia and he will throw himself out there and look scummy as town.  

 

 

I'm already pushing people to not auto-clear you like normal. You're making a lot of posts to make everyone *like* you which transfers to clearing you really quickly, especially for people who aren't as experienced.

 

Does it bother you that I am hesitant to give you a town-clear and am intruding on that tommy?

I noticed this pattern of Tommy's play in the Heir to the Empire game. And he was scum then.

 

Here I found him matching my voice.  I know there was one other instance where he said something I agreed with on thread but tbh I can't find it in the seven posts he has.  I actually could only find three going through the thread.

 

Wow, game starts when I am sleeping and already it is 8+ pages by the time i wake up.

I liked this from Laya.  I find that mafia has a harder time putting on aggravation without overdoing it etc and he isn't experienced enough to confidently think to fake it I don't think.

Basil eh. I reread his posts in the game thus far.

 

He shows up and votes Tommy, saying he's always scum and makes a joke about the lawnmower gif that tommy posted. Comes off like a joke vote so null. Then he posts a gif mocking memes. Later it gets interesting when he seconds Darthe and mentions that he's noticed the pattern of tommy's play on a different mafia game and states that he was scum there. Joke vote doesn't seem that jokey anymore. perhaps?  It would be interesting to know if he ever played with tommy before when tommy was town. If he hasn't and therefore does not know how he plays as a townie, then his point here is completely moot. Because he has no point of comparison.

 

When Hallia points out that town or no, tommy is good at getting things going he agrees. He sidetracks a bit to asking Darthe about his avatar and tries being funny but fails miserably. Then he nudges at something Len said as a possible subtle slip, which imo was not subtle at all. Also as I read it, it was quite obvious that Lenlo was joking which means it's a null tell as far as Lenlo's concerned.... and as far as Basel is concerned? Seems like a funny thing to point out. As far as finding something to comment on, it was an easy pick. But commenting for the sake of commenting without actual merit doesn't look that promising.

 

Then he agrees with Clov's comment that tommy should spend more time clearing himself, rather than stating that he's clear. Maybe Basel should focus on clearing himself and worry less about tommy.

 

So in a nutshell.... he agrees with Darthe and Clov about tommy. He agrees with Hallia, yet again, about tommy. And makes a soft push at Lenlo for something that was obviously said in jest.

 

So either he's seriously crushing on tommy.... or something might be off there. I'll keep watching him. But I certainly wouldn't put him on my town lean list.

I am not "setting off bad vibes", so you have a slight town lean on me. Okay.

 

Here's the issue: I don't think I have ever been Mafia in a game with you. Perhaps it's my GOAT townranding, but as far as I can remember we've played some 5-6 games and I have been town in every one. Most notably in Twilight, you made a habit of getting @ me hard as town-town because of "bad vibes", but at some point in all of those games I got NKed by the Mafia and flipped town, soooooooo

So, the logical attachment here should be: Town!Cory gives me bad vibes, shouldn't it? Or at least that I am not playing the way you would EXPECT me to play as town, your "instincts" on my alignment aside.

 

The problem with all this is because of my playing style and because I have some pretty reliable meta tells, I am going to be a universal townread by EOD, so I'm generally not someone smart to FoS as Mafia. I don't believe your townread on me is genuine and I see a lot of reasons you'd want to have a townread on me as Mafia.

Furthermore, he's ONLY seen you as Town, right?  Then you can't reasonably expect him to know whether you have a Mafia meta, and if so, what it is.  You're a very good - and very consistent - player.  Developing a mafia read on you this game based on differences from your previous games makes some sense, but only if he can say "Yeah, this is kind of familiar to his scum play."

You are in my null pile, I think you've said little that's alignment discerning and I don't see how a conversation about you modifying your meta will make this any easier for me
