Hallia and Leelou: DesBat is gone and in my list of people who are dependable and intelligent townies I am going to need your assistance in particular on metas and this large playerbase of players I am not familiar with. I saw Hallia said she was catching up, and Leelou was going to post where she's at some point today. I think I remember reading that you were sick, Leelou, so feel better and wub and all that but when you can throw me a bone

My eye has been really sore all day - woke up with a bad eye/sinus infection. I've had trouble really focusing on reading, but have been trying to keep up with the thread. I'll try to post first thing in the morning if Hallia doesn't swing by tonight.

Anyway, since a lot of players have jumped to defend her during me/Tommy/Hallia's prodding of her Day 1, here's why I'm relatively sure Dawn is scum:

She is not being genuine with us.

 

It's small inconsistencies but they are there.

I'm so confused by this post, do you think I'm town or scum?

 

Almost all of her early posts have been about her own perception.

The problem is that she knows she is being handled as a suspect; she doesn't actually respond to Tommy, but she acknowledges she is being perceived as scummy by me and Tommy.

 

After some time passes she "readjusts her own self-perception" in the sense that she wants to distance herself from the suspicion on her.

 

 

Also, I think you guys are a bit too harsh on Dawn atm.  She rolled mafia her first two games, so her town game probably isn't that developed yet.  She's a quick learner, but I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt atm.

Why are you leaning town on me? What about me seems particularly town? Most of my posts have just been me talking about how clueless I am at the current point of this game or complaining about grammar...not much you could get either a scum or town read for.

This has already been pointed out, but all Dawn has been concerned about is her own perception in the thread.

 

I understand the game can be confusing and it's hard to make game-related content when you are lost, but her inability to form any opinion on anything seems to be tied more to her self-consciousness over perception than her inability to contribute.

 

Read: she cares more about self-preservation then trying to find scum. Scumhunting can be difficult for an inexperienced player (and you don't want to go #FullRed either) but holding your opinions and straddling the line between making-posts-to-make posts is not timid town behavior. I have seen Dawn play as town; her instincts are not terrible, and she is willing to take a stance on people, especially if they interact with her a great deal.

But this game she is incredibly concerned about making enemies.

 

 

 

I really want to get an idea of your logic.  No offense meant, but your age explains your posts.  You are being overly anxious that people think you are town for no reason.  It suggests a guilty conscience and therefore makes you look scum.  The old me would have let you have it with both barrels, but I am going to give you a chance.

As much as I enjoy a good Dawn bashing, this isn't true. Why would scum be anxious if they were townread? What you're describing is far more likely to be townie behavior, so I have no idea why you said this because it's like the one thing that's actually in her favor. 

 

I was thinking the same thing... I'm not "anxious" about being townread since I want to be townread. I just want to know WHY people townread me. 

 

 

More on perception. More important, Mynd and Dawn are very likely scum together.

Dawn is getting some FOSes, but Mynd points out probably her towniest post of the game and uses it for one of the most fence-sitting FOSes of all time.

Dawn's first "player reflection" is a light FOS @ Zanube, who has been MIA all game. She is aware Zanube has been inactive and is calling attention to it.

 

If Dawn were to flip Maf, I think that would spew Zanube clear. This is for future reference, but Dawn's first stance being on an inactive is the lowest-hanging fruit sort of thing because it's the sort of post that counts as "game-related content" but is extremely likely to never be brought up again.

Once again is SUPER sensitive about her perception and is trying to get rationale for a vote on her.
 
This is too late in the game for her to not try and handle someone being aggressive with her, but she's being deliberate in not trying to make an enemy in AJ.
 

I'm just not sure who I think is scum. Nobody has said anything that seems particularly scummy to me. I will admit that my last vote was just a bandwagon vote and I had no reason for voting her besides me wanting to get rid of my joke vote on Red (who I don't find scummy at all)
 
And I'm confused about all the random, non-game related meme stuff getting mixed up with what's important. It makes it difficult for me to figure out what is actually important and what is just silliness. Even a lot of things that look serious end up turning into some sort of joke.
