So Jack on the subject of an inexperienced mafia players

I find in my experience playing Mafia that younger people have their own little set of tells. Perhaps it's a lack of judgment or inability of how to react genuinely to situations, but there are several younger players on my home forum and I'm almost always able to pick out their alignment within the first day.

What gives me confidence in my Redon Don is that she has gone out of her way to avoid being defensive. A lot of people incorrectly associate defensiveness as a mafia trade - it's no more null than anything and I know that as a villager I can get very pissed off at someone is falsely accusing me. But young people in particular do not like having their names smeared. I think Dawn is a little hyper conscious of specific and not necessarily correct scum tells. Stay calm is a particularly notable mafia mantra considering that overly defensive people tend to be quick lynches.

None of how Dawn has interacted with this thread feels genuine to me. She is being narrated by the attention she is drawing in a way that does not fit how I would expect her to act as town. It's fine for an inexperienced player to get lost in the thread. But her response to any analysis has been to continue to try to remain under the radar.

I would expect her to be sillier more colorful.

I actually am not buying her claim as much anymore. Little Jon or whoever she claimed seems like a very obscure. Was he part of the red wedding? Bodyguard roles are valuable because they typically protect an even powerful role. Don't recall any bodyguards doing much protecting at the red wedding though...

I do trust Red's scumhinting when she's town. So far, the only thing that I see questionable at this point is her claim. As I said before, she could be fake claiming but it doesn't mean she's scum either. I've fake claimed as a vanilla townie before to throw the scum off and 60% of the time it has worked every time. Other than that, she seems to be doing what everyone else is doing. Difference is, people are going after her so she will naturally be defensive.

She could be scum, but she hasn't done anything prior to the fake claim to warrant as many votes as she has gained. I smell a rotten bandwagon.

It’s silly to base your read on Red by the validity of her character claim. I’m sure that Darthe has provided safe claims for the mafia to use. I’m also not a fan how your read on Red appears to change every time you mention her name and how you compare the game mechanics to the actual Red Wedding to see if they fit or not.

That was the most painful catchup I've ever had to do.

Feel free to share the struggles that you encountered during your catch up with us. Your have been awfully quiet.

Now let's get real. We have 14 villager slots and with hydras the potential for a lot of village voices. I'm not okay with the big fight. I want an absolute stomping. We have some great content year to go through in some time to do - who in this thread is not genuine? Who in this thread is lacking conviction? Who in the thread is going through the motions?

I am the goat and I am reporting for duty. Blood will be shed. Tears will pour down the cheeks of the damned.

The games are over.

Dawn, you might want to close your eyes

@corey that's perfectly reasonable. And I can see where your coming from, and how you derived that opinion. However up to page 25 I'm still getting a townie feel from her. It may change after that. But at this time she's in the pile of townies for me.

Color within color within quotes - agonizingly long posts with 123461793464 multiquotes (I need to really shorten the amount allowed, lol), and not enough Yates.

Need more Yates.

Also, I've been quiet because I was completely off DM all day yesterday, and spent spare time @ work today catching up.

I think I have enough info to break this game wide open.

You'd probably screw it up.

Nope.  He's hedging/nudging.  Which is scummy regardless of Red's alignment.  Could be a scummate trying to distance without looking like bussing or a lone scum trying to get her lynched while on the opposite train.

Hey there other head. Fill me in while I continue reading up?

No.  Skill up.

I think you should do it. It's really bad. Plus, I wanna laugh.

Stop egging Cory on, you slimeball.

Yeah, Verbalina input would be nice.

Here's a freebie: I think Red is fake claiming.  She's spending more time defending than attacking.  I remember her always adopting the "best defense is a good offense", and I'm not seeing it on display here.
