i've been following a bit through notifications, and would like to add a few thought before hitting the sack (just got home from lateshift)

 

i'm still more convinced that Nolder and Krak are scum, rather than Jack. Now, i could be totally mistaken as well, but what i've read so far makes me want to keep my vote where it is right now. As for my third scum-suspect, i have Lewis.. been reading some odd things in his posts, which either are simply confusing, or used as distraction.

Sorry you feel that way.  It was a pleasure playing with you and I look forward to battling wits with you again soon.  I may even bat my eyes at the DM Mafia Admins to see if they would let me run a game here or two someday, I'd love to have you sign up.  This has been a lot of fun.  I feel like a mortal among the mafia gods here (and goddesses, of course).

 

If there is a dead player thread in this game, I may end up seeing you there at some point.  My shenanigans can only last for so long. ;)

I don't find this very helpful. I think it's safe to assume that if you flipped town that not everyone is going to use your reads as written law to proceed, but at the very least we would know that what you are saying is genuine.

 

How is Lewis saying he would lynch somewhere random? He named his top 3 scum reads and said he would be willing to lynch out of any of them. I don't see the problem.

Well, we are about a week or so away from Arbor Day and all.  Seemed fitting.  ;)

This reeks of desperation and yet no one was voting him at the time, so I don't get why the sudden shift.

Obviously I'm not desperate.

And the shift was brought about by deadline.

Maybe you guys are willing to lynch Lenlo or Jack or Wombat or whoever over what's been said but I'm not quite there yet and I'd rather have people in the game who are participating than lynch someone because they said something that's maybe scummy meanwhile the guy who's said nothing gets a free pass. It's a bad way to play.

 

Maybe someone can explain this to me, but I don't get the logic behind lynching an "inactive" player.  Time and time again, players (typically mafia) have argued that we should lynch the least active player because they aren't providing us with valuable information.  I think that lynching an inactive only helps the mafia and, as Nolder seems to be doing right now, is typically the last ditch attempt of a fumbling player to distract from a lynch that would give us a ton of info.

It helps mafia yes.

But that is unavoidable.

It helps mafia to leave them alive as well.

It forces us to waste a lynch but if we don't do it the person might get a free ride to end game (I've seen it happen).

And then how to judge them on page 90something when they have like 12 posts all of which are "I'm sorry! I'll catch up soon!"? I've seen mafia win that way. And not like it's even a plan to lurk until endgame it just happened one of their teammates was a flake.

 

Your choices are correct but I don't think you've examined every possible outcome from those choices, as you can see above.

FWIW, Nolder voting an inactive isn't a scumtell in and of itself.  He hates inactivity, so it's a move he often does when he doesn't have a strong scum read.  That being said, voting an inactive outlier this close to deadline is kinda meh and not something I usually see Nolder do.

To be fair it was a pretty short deadline for DM.

I hadn't actually checked it until that moment and didn't realize we had so little time.

And the longer you leave the inactive alive the worse the problem they present gets.

This is the sixth game I think that I've been voted up and lynched day one. I'm at L-1 I'm sure there will be a ninja hammer out of the woodworks. But would rather not get a modkill. Or whatever bad action the mods have planned

I do fight. But tbh the novelty of people gunning for my lynch every day 1 gets old. We had a handful of hours. Random would of been bad. Now there's a train to answer for.
