I slept on his claim, and I don't buy his story. 

 

1) Three questions, per night?  If it was three questions for the game, maybe, but the breakability of the role is through the roof.  If Leelou put that in, she should be ashamed.

2) Safe questions.  Nobody is going to come in and say, "Oh he's lying.  I'm the serial killer."

3) Honestly, if his questions are real, they make more sense for scum.  Town doesn't really need to know if there are vanilla roles.  A mafia oracle would give his team a safe fake claim if it came up yes, and if it came back no, they don't have to be AS choosy with figuring out a nightkill target.

 

Tina wouldn't be in my bottom four at this point.

What's bothering me about Des initially is that he's notably reactive, not initiating conversation; he's popping in to add on to what other people have said. I don't remember if that's typical for him when starting a game or if that means anything. Probably not. BUT I NOTICED

If you look at the context Tina votes in, it's quite clear why she votes Jack. It looks like a completely arbitrary pick on someone who already had a vote on them.

 

Instead of just shrugging it off as a random CFD or #gamestarter, Jack asks why and accompanies it with a vote. Imo he was trying to keep it casual here, make it look more random.

 

And yet, his defensiveness shone through when he asked why she picked him.

 

After all, "I am the best choice (for a lynch) why?" is NOT exactly a far cry from "Why me?"

Seems like the way to go. Kneejerk omgus is lame. Tries to keep everything jokey to make the vote on him seem random.

Not really omgus. Tina said "We can't have it like this." Then votes me. I ask her why out of all the names with one vote she chose me and put my vote on her cause it was pretty weird.

 

 

Here's more whyme fryme. Makes it seem like it was weird that Tina picked him... even tho he himself kind of illustrates how arbitrary it likely was. After all, in the VC, Jack's name is first. It could simply have been that.

 

Now, I'll say this- whyme fryme is normally more of a tell for newer scum players, who tend to react more to stuff on them than vets do- and I realized this when I pointed out the whyme fryme. Doesn't mean that Jack doesn't slip up as scum tho.

 

And whether Tina used arbitrary reasoning for her pick or not isn't really the issue imo. If she has an ulterior motive, she isn't exactly going to reveal that when asked as that would sort of ruin it. I am considering tho whether she tried forcing things along as a way of trying to get town cred. For now I doubt it, but had Jack defended himself better I might have been swayed into voting there instead. For now I haven't really seen Jack take this matter seriously, so my vote stays.

 

Des, you really managed to write so much about such an insignificant concept. Stuff like this is why people think you're scum all the time. It's not making me feel any better about you.
