A) Dunno why you think you get any sort of clear based on your character claim since 1. Ackbar was just a modgiven safe fake claim given to a recent SW mafia team, and used by the SK (Boba Fett) in the same game before the mafioso could and 2. Since character claims were allowed, there are likely modgiven safe fake claims in this game too, so claiming your character and alignment as if it clears you somehow is just loads of fail.

 The bolded looks to me like you are saying that Ackbar specifically would be a likely modgiven claim. Otherwise why cite him and the game. If it was to prove that ANY character would be open to being a safe claim you would have used Obi-Wan from that game as he is much higher in the Star Wars strata than Ackbar. 

 

It didn't sound like he was trying to make himself CLEAR s in confirmed town. More that he was trying to make his statement clear. That he was in fact claiming Ackbar and TOWN. The only way I see mafia making this sort of claim is if they are a silvertongue. [MOD GAMING WARNNG] Especially with Basel as MOD as I think that he really likes the LD role.

 

 

Question Despo: you state Ackbar is a mod given fake claim. How would you know? I haven't read these books so follow up would be does he play any significant part in the story? Would you expect him to be part of this theme?

 

I didn't say I thought Ackbar would be a safe claim in this game. I said he was a safe claim given in the other recent star wars game, and that since character claims are allowed there are probably safe fake claims in this one as well, so character claims shouldn't be used to clear anyone.

 

 

I can rarely read Des (or anyone else) the first days. A made up case is still a made up case.

 

I make up cases literally ALL THE TIME as town. Awful reasoning.  Awful town strategy. You sacrifice credibility in games as town in order to cover yourself as mafia. That is why you have to be called on it regardless of affiliation. Also, it depends on what you do with those fake cases. If you carry thru to a lynch when you have lost belief that the target is mafia then you no one any favors. 

 

Again. If you were trying to just say that there are likely fakeclaims then there is NO need to cite Ackbar specifically. And in the first quote you could have just stated that it was likely in your opinion that there were in fact MOD given safe claim characters.  

 

I never tried saying Ackbar seemed like it would be a mod given safe claim. I pointed out that claiming such a character that had recently been a mod given safe fake claim in another star wars game was really dumb. And it was.

 

And I don't think Monk is anywhere near confirmed town for his Solo claim, but my read on him is still a bit muddled. My read on you isn't muddled at all- you look strongly like scum. And Chewie just seems like a good choice for a safe fake claim imo- he's recognizable and somewhat major but also a bit off to the side to in the stories.

 

Incidentally, judging TG's last post, in thinking he'll flip scum after all, and I just wanna say you hammering him wouldnt make you look any cleaner in my eyes Turin.

I would say that it would be better to separate the fluff from the real thoughts. Mixing them up makes it more difficult to pin down when you are actually being serious and when you are not. there is a fair amount of fluff padding this post that anyone of the I dunno 4-5 people mentioned with some seriousness would each have to slice up to respond to an "keep it neat" as you said. would it not be fairer to everyone else in the game to limit your wall to dealing with a single person at a time. And just make the fluffy posts separate? 

 

also By throwing stuff all together it allows for the addition of subtle (or not so much) ideas to be floated in a funny way. maybe no one asks for clarification so you don';t have to say you are making a joke or not being serious.

The strategy meeting on Coruscant over the Imperial resurgence was tense. Reports out of the Empire claimed that Thrawn was dead, but the Empire was still doing well in its campaign. Admiral Ackbar wanted to send all available ships to the shipyards in the Sluis Van system. A few others argued against him. After no agreement was reached, Princess Leia suggested a recess might help, and everyone agreed on that much. When people came back into the room, though, not everyone was present. A search of the government building was launched, and people wondered if the Admiral had somehow failed to sense a trap. General Solo was left grieving, and wondering who could serve him as co-pilot now.

 

Luci, Admiral Ackbar, Vanilla Town, has been killed.

Turin, Chewbacca, Vanilla Town, has been killed.

 

It is now Day 3. With 11 alive, it takes 6 to lynch. DL is Mon., Feb. 17th at 9 PM EST.

Really sad that Turin once again turned out to be town and tunnel on me once again, nearly the whole time he was playing. SMH.

 

As far as the game goes tho, the two NK's aren't really that bad for town, despite losing two townies. Turin seems likely to have been a Vig kill since he was a prime lynch candidate, mafia wouldn't have wasted their NK on him. And Salami I thought might have claimed vanilla or at the very least claimed a character not likely to have a BA role, so the mafia killing him is a little strange. Anyways, /shrug

 

So we don't have to worry about wasting a lynch on Turin, that's good. Tina also doesn't look quite as sketchy with Turin flipping town. She's not off the hook quite yet, but eh I wanna look over her responses first and see how she responds today.

 

I actually kinda wanna focus on the Replacements. We've had a lot of them (5 to be exact), and well altho I hate doing this, Imma use one of Darthe's strategies and just look at that pool to see who sticks out as mafia are kinda more likely to replace out than town.

GE Dice - Had a middling town read on GE before, and some parts of his interaction with TG support this somewhat. Dice hasn't offered much yet, but he did place a significant vote which made TG (scum) the leading train over Turin, a townie. So town read on this slot.

 

Darthe Krak - On my last reread, Darthe is looking a lot sketchier, both for some of the awful things he pushed (like how to "handle" me... from a mafia's perspective, that Cory was maf for pushing Nol/X lynch, etc) and for his connection to TG (TG buddied him a bit, and said he targeted Darthe N1). Since Krak came in, he's mostly trolled the thread and pushed an incredibly weak case on Tommy, someone I have had as a strong town read the whole game pretty much. He looks like likely scum.

 

AJ Hallia - AJ didn't give us much, but I do think there's a decent chance Hallia could be mafia- Turin pointed out how she seemed to make a better case for voting TG, but voted Tina instead. The scum flip on TG and town flip on Turin makes this look a little more significant.

I do think the lynch should be between Krak, Tina, and Hallia today. I'm actually inclined to vote Tina even tho some things have made me slightly less suspect of her, because a flip on her would give us a good bit of info on others. Krak does seem most likely to be scum tho, based off his weak pushing of a Tommy lynch when there was no chance of that happening, even tho he was on right up till the deadline but wouldn't vote TG. Might need a bit more from Hallia to judge her on.
