And X, I really can't be bothered to rehash my argument for the fourth time. Not to be snarky, but I have the higher ground here and the impetus is on you to fight your side rather than make me re-state mine. Once you read the entire thread, you'll see I paraphrased it a couple times recently, so you can get the initial lead-up as I was arguing with Nolder, and then some summaries as people came into the thread late.

One thing which I will not say for now gives me the slightest of pauses. Overall tho asking people to restate their reasons on you is a protown move to make. Prob shoulda been his first post after replacing in tho.

Obviously my vote is based on what your slot did before you replaced in. Nolder had a sketchy bandwagon vote on Csarmi early in the game for spamming. Not too long after he gauged the room about lynching lurkers. This is what caught him initial attention. The things I saw after this is that Nol started AtEing a bit in his walled responses to others- this is well on his scum meta. He then started lurking a bit, which is uncommon for him as either alignment tbh. As town or scum he usually rails against his attackers with a lot of somewhat disjointed posts. This time he seemed to be trying to lay low to let pressure slide off of him.

 

Replacing out as he did tho pretty much sealed the deal however. I've seen him post a bunch of memes before in games, obv gifs are a bit different but still, and I've seen him play with others who post a lot of gifs without getting that upset. I think the quick building train combined with a crummy attitude was why he bailed.

Incidentally, scum teams literally conceding is a very new concept for me- even when the scum team is almost assuredly pegged here on DM, they always fight to the end. One of the really awesome things about mafia here I guess hehe. And I mean conceding really is just unbelievably bad- there's almost no situation that's too bad that at least one scummer can't slip out of and try to win at endgame.

 

I honestly think, after touring around a bit and browsing other sites, that DM has the best mafia. I obviously could be biased, but trying to look at it objectively I just think the play overall here is excellent compared to other sites.

 

I haven't checked out TL as much tho, that's one I gotta check out a bit more perhaps.

Alright anyways conclusions:

 

X looks like confirmed scum to me. Poor guy.

 

AJ had the first vote which smelled like a bus vote to me. Watching carefully, will see his thoughts after reading the thread.

 

TG sniping and coasting a lot, which is off his town meta. Def strong scum vibes there.

 

SP rose significantly up my scumdar for his push on me. Tina was pretty high up there as well, not quite as strong of a scum read as SP.

 

Still gonna keep my town list close to the chest. But the lynch pool isn't that big in my mind right now, thinking this game will be an easy win for town.

 

Is this your opinion based on Nol's playing or just based on what I wrote. If so really why?

Well from what I've seen here, like I've said before. Lot of Nolder's viewpoints seem misguided. I can see why there's a reason for your vote. But then each to his opinion. And I can't give reasons for why he did so, but then I don't agree with all that he said. I myself wouldn't lynch spammers, from what I've seen it seems to be an inevitable part of D1.

 

As for lynch all lurkers I dunno. I have stated on another game, where I feel that of you don't have anything good to say-don't say anything at all. Better to give a delayed but good opinion rather than a half formed one. But if someone has been reading the game, but not doing anything in the discussion other than just trolling after serious game play has started then they maybe trying to lead town delibrately off track. If that is the situation, then yes they should be seen suspicious. Other than that, everyone should be given some bit of leeway on D1 in the beginning and advocating that policy when not everyone has signed up is just foolish.

Saying things like "If you're gonna treat me like this I'll just quit" or "you couldn't be more wrong, I expect better of you" and other such manipulative commentary that's not based on game logic.

Lol sorry we are used to the lingo of another site.

They call mafia games werewolf games. So howling is acting scummy. Toan is a "tone read," does someone seem genuine or feigned, does someone seem to believe what they're saying, or are they pushing a line they know isn't true. It's a lot of subtleties that are hard to define, but basically, is someone lying? Nolder failed a handful of tone tests.

Nolder was rigid, made obfuscating posts and I couldn't follow his process at all - either he didn't have one or he had an agenda different from my own.

 

I don't care too much about his votes, I'm not too big on vote analysis until EOD. Townies vote for dumb reasons all the time.

 

Nolder, however, was pushing an agenda with each post meticulously and mechanically and that agenda was not pro-town

I replaced into a game on 2+2 recently and the person I replaced was basically an outed wolf and I had a miserable experience so I feel sympathy for you

you mean in any game? or just this one? No one is above suspicion on D1. Anyone that wants to suggest otherwise is selling something. 

 

 

X, I was voting for Nolder early (well would have been except for mobile code failure, lol) because IMO he was trying to push his town meta of arguing about the lurkers and having it be the thing that he took a stand on in the game. One thing I have noticed in his game and he even agreed about it was that he tends to not back down on in game things when he is town. That he elected to have the thing he took a stand on being basically a policy didn't ring true. Also that it was way too early for him to even get into that.

 

Since there is time until Deadline I am willing to let you talk. Personally not a big fan of quick lynches any day. Especially D1. There is still info to be gleaned. You might convince people you aren't mafia. Someone else might out themselves. 

 

 

 

 

 

If I might make a small request, please don't talk about games from other sites where most of the people in THIS game don't play. It is sort of like talking in a foreign language in front of people that you know won't understand what you are saying. It also clutters up the thread.

I am greatly disappoint for the degree in which this drama was oversold. Was just a couple of people being emo butthurt about yall trolling during steamroll wins. Mebbe yall are sore winners a bit during such escapades (I didn't read all the games obv, just a selection of post game from each and that signup thread), but I think a big part of it is them being sore losers a bit too.

 

Def was NOT a tar n feathering, which is what I headed there to see.

 

You and Cory must now do tricks and stunts for my amusement to make up for the lack of popcorning I was allowed to do.
