I wouldn't consider hydras outside of the 'basic' realm either.

 

We should legitimately plan some sort of all-hydra game, although finding that many people may be difficult.

 

Say a 9-man set up with all hydras? 18 players is probably doable.

Probably. We don't really need all hydras though. I know that they seem like an advantage but they simply aren't. Think about how often masons are an advantage. The only real benefit to them is that they can confirm one another as town with their own death. Past that how often do they effectively xorrelate play to bring something extra to the game?

Tommy: new, inexperienced players are sometimes given mentors who share a QT with them and help with advice on various things. It's a great help to have someone to talk to in your first games.

 

For those experienced... they're either bluffing or just wanna have fun. But Hydra would be a fun thing to experiment with, just not in this game.

Say cloud and I are hydras. We are listed on the OP as Cloud/Darthe, we have a QT to communicate on. We share a life and a vote. His opinion could bite me in the ass and vice versa. We could be town or mafia and have no increased chance of either. We may disagree and flail or we may rule or any combination.

You know what's more fun? Hydras, but they are NOT allowed to communicate outside the game thread :D

See this sounds freaking awesome! It would fit in a basic game because we would share the same role pm and anyone can try to read either of us to try and determine our allignment. Darthe is right in that it won't offer us any advantage, in fact it would only make playing the game more challenging for us two. I understand if you aren't willing to incorporate Hydra's in this game though, but the idea definitely shouldn't be dismissed from being used in a future game.

 

And by combination I mean me being awesome and cloud sucking

Dude **** that. If you are going to make me an Innocent Child on purpose I won't play in your game. Period. I quickly lose interest in things, and I couldn't think of a more boring way to play mafia than be unlynchable. It defeats the whole purpose of the game and I won't learn a thing from it. I was being serious of wanting to get mentored by Darthe. He is currently also signed up as a mentor for Hallia, and if he thinks he can handle it he could also be a mentor for Theo.

I don't play mafia just for the experience. You guys assume that I lie awake at night because I'm lynched so often, but I really don't. If almost nobody can read me in mafia games and see when I'm scumhunting and when I'm just pretending then that's their problem, not mine. I can improve my play and let's be honest there is definitely a lot of room for improvements, but I can't change the way I go about the game because that would mean I have to act like I'm someone I'm not, and I'm not going to do that.

• I also believe that you're also scummy most of the time.
• I also believe that's not a problem at all. In fact, I never assumed that would bother you. The point of the game is to have your team win, not to avoid getting lynched.

I'm only kidding about the Innocent Child role. You would be freaking awesome as an innocent child by the way (for the reasons mentioned above).

Thank you. I agree with you on the things that you have said, especially on the importance of having your team win instead of staying alive part. I'm also sorry for taking your joke out of context; I tend to take things a bit too serious at times.
