Gold was a first time player, and thus gets the D1 pass, wich I explained in the post you are quoting from with my reads. I even said he was my top mafia read atm.

 

I always buddy Des. He'll usually try and use it against me if he's mafia.

 

I already said that my Leelou-read was to be disregarded, I mixed up her with another game.

 

Overexplaining? I was agreeing with you, and explaining why I forgot to include it in my original post, wich you pointed out.

 

And heck yeah I got defensive when Nolder starting dissing my activity level.

 

Also, it wasn't early votes that was the problem, it was the reason for the votes. Savvy?

 

The point isn't that Golden gets the Day 1 pass, it's that your reason for him being a top read is that he slipped on calling people Townies when he couldn't know that unless he was mafia, yet two of those same people make your mafia list.  Either you believed that Golden was mafia, slipped, thus the rest of us are Town, or you believe we're mafia, in which case Goldens 'slip' wasn't a slip.  It's a contradiction.

 

Fair enough, he's also recently used it as Town against Mafia, so was wondering if he'd pick it up.

Yes over-explaining (although this is of course an opinion, for me the bit after 'lost my notes' was over-explaining.  It's an opinion)

and even tough i was also going after Golden at the beginning of day 2... but leenlou you voted for golden with out giving a reason... i ranted for a long time and gave my reason before voting for him.... but i rechecked the posts up till your vote there was no idea that u mistrusted golden.... and your post #434 is 2 words just a vote no reason or even a followup....

I'll give thoughts on the only reads I have at the moment, but most are no-brainers.

 

GE-Cop, duh.

You-Town, or, at least, you haven't given off your clear scum-tell.

Peace-leaning scum, but not willing to test the bomb claim.

Dap-cleared by the Cop, duh.

Leroy-still say she's Town, when she's on point, her reads are well thought out.

Theo-there is NO WAY Shane would be roled as Town. Whether SK or mafia, he would be anti-Town. Best scum read.

Des-active, insightful posts, scumhunting well. Town read.

Err-overplaying the newbie card. Scum to null.

 

Theo or Err are my best reads for scum right now.

The vote for Lenlo at the end of day one was to secure a lynch and he wasn't acting in town's interest when he was posting. Had he actually defended or claimed the day would have played out differently. 

 

I don't always vote with a reason. I saw that Goldy looked like he was being coached on his first game and he needed pressure.

Well I just went back and looked at the votes: 

 

Day 1

• Ishy (who is earning a scum read by me) started the train on Lenlo, which was then given traction by Mish (starting to lean scum).
• The Lenlo train effectively derailed the Peace train. Which of course implicates Peace per se.
• Nolder started the train on Peace, then gets NK'd. Which also implicates Peace.
• Peace claimed to be roled on Day 1 and the mafia STILL didn't NK him. They had no reason to assume he was a bomb or there was a bomb in the game. Bomb is the perfect scum claim, as it explains why he can't ever get NK'd.

This makes me suspicious Ishy and Peace by extension. If Ishy is as decent a player as people purport he is, he did a good job of picking the  target for the next day by laying the FOS on me for the next day. I noticed Peace is the one who started the "not GE's first game" train of thought, which Leelou and a few other then use as their reason for voting for me. Day 2

• Ishy starts the train on me. Leelou has now voted twice for players without really any reason, points to her "high post count" which is mostly banter and a few defensive comments at the time.
• At this point, before my claim, scum has lucked into killing 2 lovers and eliminated Nolder. Now they have 4 votes on another townie. 
• The first votes against me are Ishy and Leelou.
• The only thing that screwed the plan for eliminating 4 townies in a row is that I am the Cop.

 

That's just a theory, but if you look for who started setting people up Day 2 during Day 1, Ishy and Err are the obvious calls and Peace gives the ammo to do so. I still think leelou is mafia, but I do need to reread her most recent posts as I agree she has upped the number of substantive comments after she said she would. Though I still think putting up a misleading post count was shady.

 

• It seems to me that having 2 mafia proactively start a train (in first 3) to give it traction is a viable strategy. If so, Leelou, Ishy, Mish- FOS (although my read on Mish is so-so).
• And... I just saw Mish and Leelou in the first three for the train on Theo, who I will admit is not a scum read for me and yes I understand you guys disagree. 

 

I won't argue against the votes on Theo, but I think it might be an unwise strategy to use semantics against her. If I am not mistaken, though she shows excellent fluency in English, I believe it is her second language. As someone who speaks a second language (Spanish) and has taught language, I see this all the time. A few of the "mistakes" I've seen pointed out come from thinking of a concept in your native language and translating to English in your head as you write. Although I may be completely wrong. I apologize if that's not the case Theo, I don't mean to offend, it's just a theory. I still think her votes have been strong sheeping and I may lean non-town on her too, but I am not reading as much confusion into her comments as the rest of you appear to be. 

 

In short, Top Scum reads in no particular order:

 

Ishy- voting pattern, no real substantive contributions

Leelou- voting pattern and misrepresentation of substantive posts

Mish- Tunneled hard for me and others say she's uncharacteristically aggressive this game

Peace- Admittedly Circumstantial---no NK on a roles character, convenient bomb, saved by lenlo train. I may be giving him too much credit for possible masterminding.

 

Likely to be a non-town role like SK if there is one

Theo-  because...Shane, sheeping

 

Town

Me & Dap- I'm not willing to put anyone else here yet- Because paranoia 

 

Null

Despo- Dap being town made me revisit my scum read on him. He plays aggressively, but I tend to think that's his personality?

Err- Either he was really role-hunting and he fooled me, or was just aggressive scum hunting. I'm not willing to give him the credit Peace does just yet.

BFG- I got nothing. Read on her changes post by post and I don't understand some of her discussion points with Mish

Mish, wow, so many efforts dedicated to point out to everyone I am scum. It worked for getting rid of Len, though. It seems that it is working for getting rid of me. Don't worry about Ishy, Leelou, I feel he is going to be L4 and then Peace might appear with the hammer.

 

I thought I could make a claim whenever I want in the game, not necessarily when I am under pressure. Point taken.

 

Ishy, you are not the Mod to take decisions who could not be town or who could be from the characters in the series. I made my claim and I stay behind it. Shane is town wihtout a role but maybe you know that very well, don't you? I would never have revealed myself as such a controversial character (before being asked to) when Despo was ennumerating the possible scum team.
