So what do you want to know about the story? What's going on outside?

The story:

 

A man takes his lunch break and goes to a restaurant. He has some fish & chips, tips the waitress and goes outside. The sky is black, the road is too, everything is dark. He rememebrs a book he has read about some mists and some coal-like snow falling. But it's not this of course. A regular Monday

 

Since, I am talking in a funny font, I was wondering how did the didn't forget his font

I'm just guessing, but is it because of the length of time it takes to boil water... I know where I live, the elevation causes it to take so long for the water to boil...

That's a really good answer. I will guess the type of egg as well as how "hard" or "soft" the water is.

AT high altitudes the pressure is low and it takes a longer time to boil it

You are all correct but this can add some more minutes but 46 minutes for an egg?
