My sis-in-law's April fool's joke on our other guild was to empty the guild bank and spell out "uh-oh, nope, April, fool's" with bandages, bullets, and chilled meat on their 4 tabs.  I wish I could have logged in to see the aftermath rather than just screenshots.  She'll put all the stuff back and they likely know that, but the "Hey Wendy, did you get hacked??" would have been amusing.

Once I either find myself dedicated to my main (Shaman), or else switch mains and level that to 80, I think I'll try for getting as many achievements as I can - sounds like a fun break from the gear grind.

Come and talk to me after you've spent an hour crouching in a shrub like a mad-man waiting for little eggs to spawn!!!

LMAO.

Btw, can anybody help me with my dilemma?  My main is a 70 Shaman.  I have the following alts, in order of level:

60 Death Knight

28 Priest

26 Warrior

19 Mage

8 Warlock

2 Rogue

I keep getting tired of the Shaman, and am looking for a primary alt to level.  The DK isn't my type - I prefer casters.  Which sorta crosses out the Warrior as well.

So, Priest, Mage, or Lock.  I don't care about level right now, so that doesn't automatically mean I'll choose the Priest because he's the highest level.

The Priest was my first ever class to play, with the Lock being the most recent.  While typing this post, I've now narrowed it down to the Lock or Priest.  To be more specific, Affliction for the Lock and Shadow for the Priest.  I understand they both play similarly.

Emp, I'm looking for your input on the Lock - I know yours is around lvl 50, right?  And your Priest is lvl 78 now, so you know both classes well.  Anybody else have experience with these?  Help!

well, I've finally got word back from Blizzard about my account, I think I finally got it through there thick skulls what happened, and I submited a form. Hopefully if I don't have to re-submit this another 150 times, I should get word back in the next 72 hours or so if I can actually get my account back or not.

Of course if I do, it still won't matter since atm I have no $$ or internet soo..

Hey Verbal!

What is making you bored with your Shaman? That might be something to consider when choosing your main.

If you like to go dps caster, then Warlock or Mage would have the most versatility as a dps caster - you can play around a lot between all the various specs, and get your dual-spec for even more fun. The trouble with dps as a priest or as a Shammy is that you can really only go one spec for dps - there is not a lot you can do to play around with your shadow spec or your elemental spec.

If you think you might want to break out of the role of dps now and again and try healing, then the shammy or the priest would be the way to go, because you could dual spec between healing and dps for either.

It sounds like you're leaning towards being a dps caster, so I'm going to recommend a warlock for you. I've level both a mage and a warlock - I really love both! But warlock is probably easier to level because of the minion you get, and there is really a big difference in play style between the 3 warlock specs so if you get bored with one, you can get a pretty different experience by trying one of the others (whereas mage is just a matter of different rotations between the 3 specs). Plus you get the coolest mount! Ooh and make it a gnome warlock!

Not sure what makes me bored with the Shammy.  Probably the totems....I hate totems.  I use them because they define the class, but I hate every second of them.  I love the self healing and rez I get, along with the chain lightning and other cool nature spells, but the totems piss me off.....too stationary.  The only DoT is the Flame Shock, which is pretty tame compared to the DoTs that the lock and priest get.  I'm thinking I'd like to try out the DoT theme for offense...I've tried the burst with the Shaman...time to try dotting.

I already created the lock - he's level 8.  And I have dual spec on the Shammy - elemental and resto.  Healing is ok, but I only like it when I'm instancing with friends.  I won't PUG as a healer.

I've always hated pets, so I'm wondering if I should avoid the lock due to that - I don't like that part of the class.  The summoning, soulstones, cool mount, and overall demonic nature is what I like about the Warlock.  For Priests, I like the AoE fear, the shield, and the rezzing.  Oh, and shadowform looks pretty cool, too.

Well I like both for different reasons.

I love the priest.  I love dual speccing in Shadow and Holy.  I can heal or dps.  I thought a priest dps would suck but most of the time I am leading the dps meters.  Mainly because of the AOE mind sear which is awesome.  and the priest was cake to level with randoms.  You gotta like to heal but it is pretty easy once you know  your spells.

Lock has that reining fire thingy that is good.  I like soloing with him because I have those summons/pets.  If you hate pets then I say avoid the lock.  Locks are hunters that cast magic instead of shoot arrows... it really is the only difference... oh and they can summon people... oooo... how often will you use that?

My priest is my main now.  The only other classes I am interested in leveling are the Pally and maybe a druid.  I plan to really deck out my priest though and then level my dk to 80 next.

I've played a priest to 76 and a warlock to 54.  The 54 warlock was my fourth attempt at the class, with all previous attempts stalling before level 20.  I decided to try the warlock for the fourth time because I had a hankering for some newbie quests and I was running out of classes.  :P  (shaman, mage, warrior, druid, priest all 70+, rogue at 46 and we had plenty of hunters/deathknights so I was deciding between pally and warlock.  I wasn't in the mood for another hybrid class, hence warlock.)

I have never seriously healed with my priest.  She's been 76 levels in shadow and at this point I don't intend to take her heal spec and may not even dual spec her.  I heal with my shaman.  Maybe with my druid if I can reteach myself (haven't played the druid in years).  My priest is dps.  Compared to the warlock though, she is fairly limited in how she can be spec'd and still be effective dps.

The pet thing with the warlock still bugs me.  I haven't ever really enjoyed playing pet classes.  The only thing that made it easier for me was starting to use elementals on the shaman and mage.  I have to say I like the warlock pet a LOT more than the hunter pet (highest hunter is level 32) simply because the warlock pets are less vanilla for me.  They have their own skills and strengths and I can swap when I want to (don't know if they fixed that for hunters or if hunters still have to go back to a stablemaster to swap).

I also HATE totems.  I sometimes have to be reminded to use them in raids and I only situationally use them soloing.  Half the time soloing I feel like I use more mana placing the totems than I'm getting in results.

I'd say try bringing both up to 30 and see what you like best.  Your priest is nearly there so that's more a reminder of how it plays and going up to 25 or so on the warlock would give you a chance to try out two different pets(void at 10 and succ at 20) who both have very different feels to them.  My first three warlock attempts all failed in the late teens and the fourth only made it through there because I kept telling myself that I WOULD have the demon with the whip this time around before I quit.  :)  Ironically, I only used her for a few levels before I swapped back to the void (my lock has never grouped for more than a quest or two or a run through a dungeon by an 80 and succ isn't the best solo pet imo), but it helped me cross the gap between 15 and 20 and I found play after that a lot more fun.  I LOVE the felguard.  :)

LOL, I hated the rogue so much that it made it only to lvl 2.

I played a little with the priest last night, and I think I might like the healing style better than the Shammy, for when I do happen to heal.  Healing as disc with the shield seems like a fun/different way to heal.

Barm - you should get your ass back in the game!!!

So back to raid tomorrow (friday).  We are shooting for evening.... like 8pm est.  Well I am suggesting that time.  This kind of hinges on canuk.  I think Silver, Canuk, Elfbreak, Carwyn - later after work, and myself. I think Verbal is out.  I am hoping Aust can join us.  We probably need a few more.  I think it is a level 60 raid so it can be done with a handful of high levels.
