I'm honestly looking at peace for being so quiet here and because he was willing to vote but not push or actively progress. I haven't looked, but I bet that if we go back and examine his votes we will find that he wasn't overly vocal about it and that he is not early on the trains.

 

This wasn't a mafia gambit, it was the play of mafia trying to blend in when their world went to hell from the start.

 

Ask yourselves this, why is Peace not here to find mafia or defend himself? He made one little post to keep attention on me, and that's it.

Plus, a wagon is really the only way to get past the RVS stage. As much as I don't mind the chatty too much, I also like it when games move into the serious stage somewhat quickly.

The bold: this is a great way for a townie to help mafia set up mislynches which is why townies don't often do it unless they are certain the other player is mafia.

A wagon is not the only way to get past RVS and you leapt too soon.

The final paragraph is rhetoric. Worse, it was fake lighthearted rhetoric.

Because there is really nothing to argue about - you're case is kind of far-fetched and Des is buddying.  Thus I don't feel like there is much to argue at this point.

 

Thoughts on others - mostly spam and commenting on it which means there is not much to go off of.

I admit he knows that I know this and he could be playing against it, but it would be the first time I've seen him do it well enough to fool me.

Not only did she fence sit on me, she introduced wifom on me even if I wasn't lynched (she could come back to me later- "remember how SCUMMY he was acting earlier guys?!?!"), and then started backpedaling on what she said after being challenged by Darthe. Incidentally, what she said is partially true, I do try acting a little scummy early in games as town to try and avoid NK's, but her mentioning that midgame could easily be an attempt to buddy to me or to gain town cred on my flip

Berf: leaning slightly scum. His obvious bandwagon vote accompanied with the blatant cheerleading stuff seems a lot like an attempt to provoke me. Ever since the end of the Merlin mafia game he has had a hard on for trying to show up and contradict me.

Krak: leaning slightly scum. His "Oh you two..." comment seemed like it could a been scum enjoying hanging back and watching two townies bicker at each other.

Kaylee: leaning town. Don't think she would have posted such an obvious fence-sitting post as scum.

Not sure why Darthe is so all-fired concerned about my "letting" Des get away with his "play scummy as town" meta, but since I'm one of the few people who doesn't complain that I can never get a good read on him, I'm happy enough to keep an eye on him and decide for myself when I need to be concerned about his play.

And that's the one strong read i have at the moment. As for everyone else, it's early yet. I expect we'll hear more from Kaylee over the weekend since I know she will have more time to play... Looking for more contributions from some of the others as well.

He describes the case on Desp as far fetched because it's not got a lot of backing evidence. Well, it's freakinng beginning of D1 so that should've been evident from the start. D1 is about seeing what's what, not waiting for someone to make a slip during casual chat. You poke, you prod, and in this case it just seems like digging for town cred. Also, not voting until a deadline has been set is scummy as you're waiting for the pressure of time so town makes a more uninformed decision.

First regarding my reaction to Darthe - if I would've reacted agressively, you would have said I'm being defensive and found that to be scummy.  That's the way things have always happened to me.

Tress I already mentioned Berf's wagoning and found it questionable. There's not much to say about Peace's wagon vote, since that's all he posted. You expect me to not question it when I see a situation where someone might be buddying to me or trying to gain town cred by defending me should I get lynched?

I don't disagree with the suspicions of Berf, but I add you to that category for the same reasoning.

Okay to explain it more fully Kaylee, in the thread I mentioned, I brought up the topic of whether or not a specific type of cheerleading was unsportsmanlike. I'm not talking about the plain 'ol encouraging others to vote someone thing, I was referring to the antagonistic type of cheerleading that I have seen spill over into DM lately. Stuff like the "CHOO CHOO! No brakes!" type comments. Well, a lot of people disagreed with me and felt it was part of the game, but specifically Berf was one of those that seemed to relish in antagonizing me even more over it.

 

In fact, to truly understand the background here you'd have to go back even further to Time's Merlin game that happened a couple of games ago. At the end of that game, I was arguing against a mass lynch (as town btw) that Ithi has basically proposed because I felt it would cheapen the town victory (town was steamrolling mafia in that game). Anyways Berf came in strong against that position of mine, and was saying I was ridiculous etc.

 

Then he comes in the cheerleading thread against me. Then he comes into this game and posts the train pic and the choo choo comments, again all apparently in the hopes of provoking and antagonizing me.

 

I can't really think of any good justification for why Berf would want to antagonize me as town, but it's pretty easy to see why he might do so as scum. Additionally, if he does have some kind of personal grudge against me or something which is starting to appear possible, then I feel he doesn't have much worth as a scumhunter in this game. So basically we either take out a scum, or lose someone that isn't voting with logic but is letting their actions be decided by personal grudges. Seems like a good scenario to me.

 

And incidentally, the pic I posted above was the kind of thing I was referring to, and was a jab back at him. Maybe it was a little immature, but I still thought it could possibly alleviate the situation somewhat if he is town.

I admit it could be the case.  My current issue is that I have several town reads and few mafia reads, but nobody quite fits.  The final mafia member is doing better than their teammates.
