This game is designed to be played across three threads. As you will soon discover, you have a different role PM for each thread and may potentially have a different alignment for each one as well. What this means is that while this is one game, you essentially end up playing three games of mafia.

The reason for this is that in this game each win that your team earns in a thread gains you a point. Your overall goal is to gain as many points as possible, with three being the maximum and zero being the minimum. Thus, you want your team to win in each thread. The three threads are related thematically and in purpose, however for the sake of simplicity your alignments and actions are completely separate for each thread.

We are aware what it states, we just want a clearer explanation of how it's going to be played out. Having three game threads being run at the same time with all members actively participating in each of them is asking a lot of the players. It's pretty obvious from past games that some people have trouble even sticking to one. It would be a waste of the mods time if they started the games and then half the people dropped out with claims that they don't have the time to spare.

DM has shown that it can be an active or inactive site based on what people expect of themselves and what the moderator allows. If you choose to look at it this way, the game gives no less time per thread then Nolders did. Yes, it is asking a lot of the players. Hence why we state that we are only interested in the most active and vocal of participants. If we didn't believe that it was possible to run here then we never would have created it.

Sure, that's totally your call. I was pointing out the reason why clarity was necessary. Active or not, keeping up with three threads along with rereads and casing is strenuous no matter what. Nolder's game had a 24 hour deadline but only one thread and so many things/players to keep up with. Getting the most active players to play also means you have the hardest time keeping up if you even begin to slag behind. Not pointing it out as a criticism of your setup, just as a warning to anyone unsure whether or not it's the right game for them.

It's a valid point that you make Tink. I think DM can still do this, but perhaps we don't have enough players.

We will find out

Could you do a favor and invite some old players like Luckers, Kivam, and Barm?

Jack D wouldn't respond to my private game invite so I think he and Mynd are fully gone.

Luckers is banned, Barm just got married this past weekend and I can try Kiv, but he's probably busy.

Keep in mind my game had 2 night choices, protect and kill. There was very little else to get bogged down in that wasn't created by the players themselves. If you have a bunch of roles or even a "normal" amount...that can make even a single game very involving and demand a lot of attention. Three at once could be a nightmare.

Is there any chance you can run them staggered?

Like when game 1 is ~half way done start game 2. When game 1 finishes start game 3.

I didn't know any of that!

Why did Luckers get banned? Also, what about Locke?

And why do I not know any female mafia players from back when?

Bleh I dunno. I really wanted to play but I didn't want to commit to three games.

Are you going to cut the number of players if not as many people join?

was wondering this too

Well... Your game does sound very interesting, but I don't think I'm able to commit to three 23 man advanced games at the same time. It just sounds like too much for me to handle right now.

We could cut the number of players, but that would require serious rebalancing.  I might rather tell Darthe to run one of his other setups than do that.

Not stupidly so. This game has been designed in such a way that things are easier to generally figure out than they might be elsewhere so that it compensates for the natural confusion of three simultaneous threads. Furthermore it will make a lot better sense when you are in it then when you try to imagine it from the outside.

If you are posting half what we post and have 72 hours until deadline then it should be easy to manage with a post or two a day. Further, when one game is in night the other may not necessarily be. This you have time. This sounds like an overwhelming amount to you guys, but anyone playing in advanced games should not be a casual player and the setup works well for anyone who can manage regular game rigors.

I have full confidence that any player that plays well enough and posts often enough to make it through a game like Nolders will be able and manage this.

Honestly. When DPR ran Spider Country he had no issues and 30+ people ran to that like flies to honey. It inspired this game in some minor way.

I don't see the issue here.
