Just throwing this out there for discussion.

Anyone think there's a chance they show up for the Last Battle?  Our last PoV involving them was their retreat back to the Waste after Malden, but I'd be surprised if they didn't want to get in on a piece of the action at Tarmon Gai'don.

They seem very determined to NOT involved themselves with the worries of the Wetlanders and to return to the Three-Fold Land. I wouldn't be too surprised to see them show back up since they have to walk across a large swath of the Wetlands to get there, though. On the other hand, I think their storyline is sufficiently tied up that to leave them out of AMoL entirely would be no great sin against good writing. Having just finished ToM, I do wonder what Aviendha's visions mean for the Shaido. They seemed not to factor into them at all.

I think the fact that they are not following the Car'a'carn means they will not be part of the remnant that survives, however I'm not sure how they will be destroyed or even if we will see it within the book series. May just be one of those loose ends RJ promised he'd leave.

They may not be interested in The Last Battle, but The Last Battle may be interested in them. Could well be enough shadowspawn hordes to throw a few million into the Waste just out of bloodymindedness.

I don't think we see them again, except for maybe their damane Wise Ones. I'm sure they will find no welcome in the Waste or at Rhuidian, and with the Blight on the move, that may be the only water in the Waste. That could be the end of them right there.

I've a small suspicion that the Red Veils, now that the time for them to remain hidden is coming to an end, might indulge themselves in the slaughter of a fractured Shaido.

This, much like the clans that did not agree to the peace of Rhuidian in the first place, they will fade within three or four generations as their means to sustain themselves dissipates. There is one thing they have not contended with, they are the Shaido and before there were many clans to trade with and who contended for land and resources and you could play off one and other. The Aiel as a bunch of sometimes warring clans are done, they are the Shaido against the collected entirety of the remaining Aiel. They are outscasts from the remainder of their people.

Perhaps the Shaido will be the ones to meet a Sharan invasion in the Waste and be the ones to delay it so the Aiel can stay with Rand till shade is gone...

They really can't be called Shaido now!

Aren't they a remnant of a remnant?

They better not be, they basically did not learn anything from their trips through the Pillars. How could the Shaido Wise Ones go along with it? I don't get it at all, but the price of failure was laid out in the visions. Fuck it, if they are the remnant of a remnant and the Seanchan still live at the end of this (which I am reconciled to) I will probably just burn my books.
