Turning someone to the shadow.

I havent seen to many posts on this, so i thought i would bring it up just for kicks. We havent actually seen someone that has been confirmed turned to the shadow against their will even though we know that it can happen(13 aes sedia and mydraeal(forgive spelling)).

So I think this might be talked about in the last book. Who do you think has been turned against their will...

I believe Taim has, also those ashaman that are close to him. I also believe those new aiel are.

Any thoughts?

I disagree with Taim...I know in another thread people talk about not having a perspective of Taim before he already seemed suspect but no one has ever mentioned a dead look in his eyes or anything. I've just always pegged him for a top notch darkfriend/dreadlord general type guy. As for Luc and Isam, I feel like whatever happened to them is much worse than a 13x13 since it affects 2 people rather than 1, the origin of Slayer would be awesome.

Yeh its likely those ashamen and aes sedai have been, can't remember the exact quote, but it was commented they weren't themselves anymore, or something along those lines.

Just as a side/off topic question: Has the exact mechanism been described before? We know 13 channelers, channel through 13 fades, but do we know if the dark one's taint is placed in the victim, or if a dark one cable(that we see on ishammael, asmodean etc) is latched onto the victim? Might help us figure out what exactly happens to the victim if we knew what actually happened.

My memory is horrible but isn't it something about taking the worst parts of a person's personality and magnifying it until they are evil? I think it is something like that, building on the darkest parts of a person until those are the prominent factors.

I always kind of thought Luc and Isam might have been turned.

It seems like they were melded together more than turned. Luc rules the waking world while Isam rules the dream world. I remember seeing hints where Hopper or a wolk says something such as Slayer hasn't been around in a long while, or refers to it as an old evil come again, something rare and little seen. I can't remember the places or the quotes.

None that I have seen confirmed, but to many it is obvious something is going on with Taim's cronies as well as the Two Rivers Black Tower party's friend being changed. Mezar, iirc? There is also a noticable change in Taim from the one that first appeared to Rand and now. He did have Dashiva (Osan'gar) kind of running things and corrupting a few other Ashamen or had them recruited as they were darkfriends. There will be many revelations in the coming book, we just have to wait.

Isam/Luc can't have been turned with the 13x13 trick because he can't channel, Isam would have been a dark friend and Luc was probably told lies to bind him to the shadow, now why they became fused I don't know, its likely something to do with the daughter heirs disappearance that it happened. (aswell as that it caused him going to the blight in the first place), or maybe Isam was dying and they stuck his soul in Luc to keep it alive, since at the time it happened the dark one probably wasn't capable of resurection. (All just speculation mind,)
