Hey AJ, are you town? What are your thoughts on Song and Marsh?

Um... no? Yes? What is it you're expecting... me to come out as mafia?

What a fascinating answer. Can't you answer straight-forward AJ? Actually, you do not have to. I am in school as a psychologist as some of you know and here is a little lesson for you: when people are called on a lie and they doublespeak (Ie: yes then no) the first answer is the honest one in a little over half the instances presented. People also have a slight tendency to dwell on the topics that relate more to themselves as I am sure many of you have noticed in life. Notice, I asked alanna about her status in relationship to the town and she responded in relationship to the mafia. I believe this warrants more attention.

Also, Basel.. Try harder?

Nolder, I suggest voting Basel for asking a stupid question.

It is almost a principle vote =p But you once more didn't answer my question...

Holy crap! Unvote vote Darthe, you suck. I swear I was only drinking last night, not tonight. Arg.

I kinda did: It's a stupid question. If I'm mafia, I'll answer I'm town; if I'm town I'll answer that I'm town, I just added a cocky spin to it. So, I am town, Darthe, what more do you need?

Evasive. Dodges the issue that I raised altogether.

And how is it a stupid question, AJ? Darthe comes right out and asks someone if they are town, in a game where everyone wants people to think they are town. I'm focusing not so much on your answer to the question as the fact that it was asked in the first place, and the impressions Darthe seems to be hoping it will create that he would ask the question. Scum would know if AJ is town or not. Therefore, if Darthe asks the question, he hopes to confirm himself as town by presenting himself as not knowing. As for you, AJ, I am starting to wonder about your agreeing with me on Peace on D1. Buddying up a bit, perhaps, in hopes of getting a lynch on someone we now know had been town?

Posted

Addendum to that post: I am guessing that one of Darthe and AJ could be the third scum. Likely in a 12-player game, the other is town.

Basel, it's not buddying up if I'm town and agreed on some of your ideas. Don't twist my actions so. Darthe is definitely higher on my list right now for asking me my alignment, and for twisting meaning from my responses. Yes, I'm town, I'm not mafia.

Also, I ALWAYS get Darthe/Basel mixed up somehow. I also always get Nolder/Razen mixed up. And a few others... *le sigh*

Basel, et all, you guys are worried way to much about the buddying crap. Rampant paranoia all around. The fact is Basel..that stuff I posted about you day 1 is still relevant.

That would explain the stupid question bit then. I think he has twisted some meaning from your responses. That whole part about the way you responded and reading what he did into it would have made very good sense in RL, where he could see your face and hear your tone of voice, but to tell that much about your thinking from a line of text is stretching it.

Posted

Stretching it as in that I am trying to somehow vet myself by asking another player a question? Stretching indeed Basel. Why the push I wonder?

Quite honestly, I was just being a jerk because of the question he asked. ANYONE would answer that they're town, so I don't see how that's a relevant tactic to judge someone's alignment. On the other hand, by taking whatever I say (for example, if I hesitate, am vague, whether I do it purposefully or not) and making it into something else is a scum-tactic. He's trying to make something out of nothing, and that is what pinged me second.

Would you prefer that I argue this on my own or that I post links to clinical evidence that does it for me? I can do either.

I would prefer that to asking questions that you already know the answer to.

I would like links and thoughts. I have questions about Basel myself and I want to see if they coincide with what you have.

Are we talking about Basel or Darthe?

...

Here is a simple explaination of how we relate things to ourselves http://www.sonoma.edu/users/d/daniels/objectrelations.html through permanence and constancy, defining the differences betweeen primacy and secondary effect can be found here http://psych.fullerton.edu/mbirnbaum/psych466/ykl/report.htm and here is a study on the nature of the empirical self http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/kant-mind/ which will explain the research behind my statement. Together the first explains our relationships, the second defines why the order of her sentence was so important, and the third explains how self view establishes the foundation linking the two theories.

My personal thoughts are that AJ has played too much to not know why someone would ask that and skirted until she could no longer avoid it. That is by far the pingiest action she could have done. Marsh still pings to me because of his popping up the second he was mentioned and his lurking. Basel, I believe, is actually just a confused townie attempting to create links where he can.

What am I skirting? I said I was town. I am town. I was playing around to see how far you would push this. Also, this is a basic game, Darthey, what do you mean by that statement?
