I think it would be bad form to have newbie/basic games be invite only or even partial invite

 

If you're playing a game where even a beginner should be able to participate decently it doesn't make sense to exclude them

Invite only shouldn't be an issue. If it is invite only then the mod has their reasons. If you feel you deserve an invite message the mod or step your game up. I think invitational games should have their own queue though, and only be run by the moderators of this board or who they think would be a good person to run one. I think maybe a once a month invite game would be epic.

I have. I feel that the invite only game is fun, and like I said it should be the moderators choice of this board of who gets to run one, because people that didn't get invited would just make another invite only game to get back at the other players. If people get hurt by being left out, then they would get hurt in the game if people go after them tough. Like I said once a month, letting the mod of this board mod the game or chose someone to mod. The sign ups should be invite only and based upon feedback of certain players. Expressed by pm.

I don't think played A is ready they take the game to personal, they can however think on their feet

 

Player B shouldn't be invited they are very inactive

 

Invite player C, they are witty, and post a lot plus they keep things rolling

Erm, not really. Comparing the genuine reaction of a person to invite only games and their behavior in game settings is wrong at best.

 

Besides, the activity of a person can differ between games due to RL stuff that happen to clash with game participation. Which is why I don't like someone looking at a person's last game or two and deciding they'd be inactive players just because they happened to be a bit slow in their last game.

 

'Sides, in the past I didn't really get the feel that good players were invited to invite only games. It was more of a friends only mafia games to me. They didn't seem to consist of people the mod heard are good players but rather people the mod is friends with. Again, not claiming that a mod can't do it if it's what he prefers... but it sends a certain message. Also, who's going to PM the mod after it's been clearly stated that it's an invite only game and the person in question didn't get invited? I sure know I wouldn't.

I did that when I came across Lily's Mall Madness II game. I was still learning and wanted to read a game that had some well known players. I followed it all the way and ended up getting in at the end and helping the Mafia to win.
