and if you don't know Osangar is one of the 2 that was killed in the first book (I think the one Rand kills not sure though)

Osan'gar/Dashiva = Aginor, yes. (Although as Luckers pointed out in another post, Rand technically didn't kill Aginor, he drew too much of the Eye/power and killed himself.)

Aran'gar/Halima = Balthamel (Killed by the Greenman.)

The Eye was a safe source, and can not burn out the user if you notice the eye made Rand as strong if not stronger than Ishy (which at that time would have burned rand out as he could not channel thast much) Rand killed Aginor out of a technicallity, he stripped the eye's supply from Aginor while Aginor was still channeling at an amount above his capability unaided so that is what caused him to burn out the instant of unaided channeling above his ability once Rand ripped the eye supply from him

I think that in LoC that Masema became truly 'touched' and that demandred did it, thus sewing a ton of chaos.

I am not saying you are wrong, but there is strong implication that Masema was "touched" by another one of the Forsaken.

MATT HATCH

This has to do with the Luckers’ Shiny Dragon theory. Masema mentions having a vision, someone tells him to kill Perrin. So, my question, was the individual telling him to kill Perrin a male or female?

BRANDON SANDERSON

He saw a male.

MATT HATCH

He did, but was the individual a male or a female?

BRANDON SANDERSON

(Laughs appreciatively and pauses)

Yes, yes he was a male or a female.

MATT HATCH

(Laughs) Was the individual a male?

BRANDON SANDERSON

(Thoughtful, deep intake of breath, pause)

MATT HATCH

…as classically defined by his physical…(laughter)

BRANDON SANDERSON

(Says, yes I get what you are asking)…

MATT HATCH

...I’ll say it this way, does this individual have the soul of a man or a woman?

BRANDON SANDERSON

mmmhmm. (pauses looking up for a good twenty or thirty seconds)

BRANDON SANDERSON

Female.

Now obviously this does not mean that Demandred didn't start the whole thing, but usually the Forsaken don't steal each others' people. The most likely answer is that this "female" was the one that started it.

As to the main topic, well, it has been said a million times, until the last book comes out, you will never be able to convince those that believe it they are wrong. Answering the question to new people that have not read the interviews ---> no this theory is 99.9999% false. TO the rest, as they say, RAFO

It was Graendall she is after Perrin the entire last half of the series it was her task given from Moridin

Yeah, this is most probable, however, there is also some evidence for Moggy. Since Graendal was not after Perrin until late in the series (KoD i believe Moridin said stop chasing Rand and attack these two) and thus had no connection to the events in Amadicia and such like (wherever the prophet was). Since the Prophet was clearly "touched" as early as Book 5, (probably earlier) as is seen when Nynaeve meets with him. Moggy certainly has ties to this, being in Tanchico and chasing Nynaeve around after that, putting her in the vicinity of the Prophet at the right time.

There is also the point that Graendal would most likely have simply used compulsion to make him attack on him rather than mess around creating the whole "vision" of the Dragon Reborn. It seems much like something Moggy would do, the spider manipulator.

Finally, it was a task given to all of the Forsaken, so it was not just limited to Graendal.

IN any case, again, with relation to the Thread itself, it is clear that it is not Demandred or Taim who has anything to do with the Prophet (at least not in the way of the vision etc.)

Also, it should be remembered that the Black Tower wasn't exactly "free" for a Forsaken, Aginor (Dashiva) was the one situated at the Black Tower. It was only by chance (ta'veren) that Rand chose him, and he looked surprised, but could hardly have blown his cover. So I do not think that it was his intention to follow Rand round, more like a fortunate situation and a good chance to improvise.

  • 2 weeks later...

Or it was a nervous twitch because Taim was hiding something. For all we know Demandred could be controlling Taim and RJ wasn't lying he just didn't want to give anything up. Either way this discussion could go on forever you all have good theories but we just don't know enough about Demandred to say where or who he is just yet. RJ was leaving him vague for a reason. Demandred will play an integral part in TG and i bet RJ wanted to keep us wondering about him right til the end.
