Thom and Morgase

Just finished reading chapter 35 of TEotW again, and was reacquainted with Thom's history with Morgase. So my question is this: Was it mentioned in any of the later books what EXACTLY did Thom said to her that made her so freakin' mad? Not that I can't imagine what he said, but if I can look it up, that would be cool, too.

He left without explaining his actions to go after Owyn, and then had some nasty things to say about the Red Ajah.

Although its not specified, those remarks may have specifically included Elaida, Morgase's advisor at the time.

I think if Thom followed a paper trail from what happened to Owen it would end with Eliada. She probally thought Thom was getting to influnental with Morgase making her harder for Eliada to control.

 

And I have a feeling Thom knows Eliada was a part of the Owen affair. Just not how much.

Yeah it was most certainly Elaida who was one of the people responsible for the Vileness after Aiel War.

 

while we're on that track what are Cadsuane referring to when she mentions that. does she mean the Red Ajah gentling men without them being brought to Tar Valon or does she mean the Black Ajah's killing of every lucky man in Randland? but i kind of see them as connected as Galina is Black Ajah.

This is just a guess...but how I understood it was that Owen could channel and Morgase told Eladia, which in turn caused that white tower to go afer him. Whatever it was it was bad.

There is no doubt that Elaida was neck deep in the Vileness. We even get confirmation of that when Logain takes his one Aes Sedai Warder. My thoughts were always that when Morgase promised to tell Thom who was responsible for his nephew, she was basically telling Thom she had the proof against Elaida that he needed.

 

When the "Vileness" is referred to, it is primariy the Gentling of male Channelers outside of Tower Law. Even among Aes Sedai it isn't common knowledge that the Amyrlins' murders and the deaths of lucky boys was anything other than freak accidents and natural causes. A few Aes Sedai, like Cadsuane, may have suspected Black Ajah involvement, but it wouldn't have been enough to include it within a "general use" term. When Cadsuane said, "that vileness after the Aiel War," the other Aes Sedai easily recognized what she was referring to. (I didn't look up the passage, so that is not an exact quote of Cadsuane's statement.)
