Annoying Habits

Ok...I am posting this just to vent some frustration!

As some, if not all, of you know, I live in a house with 4 other people. Anyway, some of their habits are beginning to annoy me! I have mentioned it in the past, but not much action seems to be happening.

Anyway, I am about to describe these habits. Then I want you to share such stories of when you have lived with other people in a largish group!

1. Instead of actually washing dishes up and putting them in the drainer to dry, they just dump them in the bowl in the sink. The water is usually cold, and there is lots of rice...

2. One of my fellow housemates likes to leave al his post on the table. Our kitchen table is cluttered up with his post!

3. Another likes to go to the toilet for at least 30 minutes in the morning...just when I want to go for a shower!

I am sure others will turn up over the year! Your turn!

Hey! the dishes in the sink one! i HATE that! how do you expect me, or ne1 else who washes the dishes, to wash them, if you have dishes piled passed overflowing the bowl?!

Or those ppl who use your tooth brush because its softer... learn how to rinse your own toothbrush! :x

I think i'll quit before i start bopping heads around here...

Oh lord... yeah Corki, I totally symapthise. I shared a flat with various people over my 4 years at uni and some of them had unbelievably bad habits.

I remember one morning, going to the fridge for milk and finding a pair of dirty socks stashed there the night before by one drunken eejit.

Another horrible one is leaving dirty coffee cups lying around in weird corners until they are growing the most hideous types of mould imaginable.

Filling the bin up until its overflowing and has STUFF sticking all round the edges and never bothering to empty it... that really annoyed me too.

Ok I'll stop, my blood pressure is going up !!!

Clothes, my brother likes to leave his clothes all over the house and doesnt bother to pick them up... like bah at LEAST make a pile or throw them in the laundry basket

My brothers music, when im trying to sleep he will crank the stereo or the computer and wake me up, you know its not good music either, like i like metal and crap but his is sad, u cant hear one word and it gives you the biggest headaches in the world

CUPBOARDS!!!, I CANT STAND CUPBOARDS BEING OPEN OR DRAWS IN THE KITCHEN IT BUGS THE CRAP OUT OF ME.. hehe i know its weird.. anyone else have this one? lol

ill stop for now

Yes, we do have 2 showers. However, all my shower stuff is in the bathroom where we have both a shower and the toilet. And i am not that interested in trekking downstairs to the outside toilet first thing in the morning either.

In college one of my roomates used to wake up VERY early, and she'd hit the snooze button SEVERAL times. This was not so bad, but it was TERRIBLE when she'd hit the snooze, then finally get up and get in the shower, so her alarm would beep FOREVER until I got up to turn it off, or she got out of the shower!

HAIR. I have about the most annoying hair ever, so I am very consciencious (sp?) about making sure it is cleaned up - out of the drains, off the floor, etc. But my roomates would just leave theirs lying around everywhere! It would get stuck to your feet and socks, and get tracked all over the house!

I know what you mean! When I cleaned the bathroom on Friday, the hair in the plughole of the bath/shower was disgusting! It was all so long! I know it isn't mainly me, as I have short hair at the moment, but several of my friends do have long hair. It took me 2 attempts to remove all of it...and now the water drains away nicely...for now!

I don't share a Flat but I do have some neighbors that had a habit of turning their radio too loud. In answer to their difficulties in understanding this problem I waited till about 0600 on a Sat morning after one of their parties and Turned up my amp posted it against the wall, Kicked up the reverb and worked out my aggression. Didn't take long to get my message across. Perhaps you could work out a similar solution. Corki

 Yick!

They used to steal blankets off my bed in the winter so they could sit on the sofa all nice and warm(my room was actually part of a larger room), and then my blakets would disappear... Until i stole everyones pillows for three days...

Well I got mad enough once to pick the dishes out of the sink and dump them on my flat mate's bedroom floor. Then I washed my own stuff and cleaned the sink up. They got the hint too. Sometimes subtle just doesn't work. :D

Honestly, I'm with Tay. If it's subtle, it's too easy for them to lie to themselves and say it's not theirs or something. If you full on put it in their faces, they can't just pretend they didn't use ANY dishes, lol.
