There's no need to trust me personally. You can mistrust me and and my arguments might turn out valid, or you can trust me and it turns out I was smoking something colourful at the time. It's also not my job to tell the roled players what to do and I urge them not to follow my post blindly - I've just made some suggestions so you can make your own decisions.

The side benefit to talking about roles is that any roled players with questions to ask may be able to slip them under the radar without being noticed by the evil players. So if you're an innocent with comments or questions about the roles to raise, throw them out there. You'll be doing your roled friends a favour by giving them some camouflage.

I'm inclined to be suspicious of Kadere right now. His initial response to what I felt was a well-reasoned post on my part was not exactly what I expected from someone who wanted productive discussion to help out the roled players. Maybe he's right and I am taking this too seriously, but then again, why not take advantage of me while I'm here? Also, as others have pointed out, his frivolous comments - I assume he's being frivolous - are big on the wrongful lynching of innocents.

It's not exactly a solid case, but we're not going to get a better one on day one, I feel. Unless anyone wants to go to night? I know it gives the evils a free kill, but it also gives the seer a free night to investigate, assuming that the free kill doesn't coincide with the seer, so to speak. The downside is that we won't get the possibility of lynching someone and finding them evil, thus allowing us to draw connections to other players. I'm not sure that going to night is the best idea right now but I'm up for discussing it if anyone else is thinking about going to night.

Apparently I missed a rule or two... we can go to night without lynching someone?

Not saying I don't still think Kadere is a bad-guy, but this would be nice to know for the future.

Sorry, I'm confusing myself. My normal mafia game habitat has the go to night option where you can skip the day phase and hit night without a lynch. This has its benefits and drawbacks as I outlined above. It's not mentioned in the rules so maybe it's not an option here. Raena?

Sure, you can have that option as well. I've got no problems with it. :D

He said he likes the drama of watching the wrong person get lynched. That sounds evil to me. And even if it isn't' date=' he should be entertained.[/quote']

*goggles at his own thoughts mirrored*

I too vote for Kadere.

Thinking ahead! Kadere may want to skip past. ;)

Having the option to go to night changes the game a bit. I know the even-odd mafia rule hasn't been used a lot here and frankly I'm not too familiar with it myself, but if my sums are correct, it now has a bearing on the situation. This applies to all games in which there are an odd number of players. Let me demonstrate for a 15-player game.

Lynch Scenario

Day One - 15 players, lynch

Night One - 14 players, kill

Day Two - 13 players, lynch

(subtract 2 players each day)

Day Six - 5 players - possible evil majority

No Lynch Scenario

Day One - 15 players, no lynch

Night One - 15 players, kill

Day Two - 14 players, lynch

(subtract 2 players each day)

Day Six - 6 players - no possible evil majority

All things considered, therefore, the even-odd rule shows that where there is an odd number of players, going to night on one occasion gives you an extra day before the evil majority.

PS. Also note that the above applies to no-lynching on any one day. It doesn't necessarily have to be today, and since we're moving toward a consensus on Kadere, I feel it may be better to no-lynch at a later time.

PPS. This assumes that the lovers live to the final day. It's impossible to legislate for these two, I think.

This is very difficult because there doesn't seem to be much evidence anywhere.

I'll have to go with Kadere I think he stands out among us mainly due to what he said.

Thanks, I completely forgot the healer. I'm not sure that it makes all that much difference though. The chances of the healer protecting the same person whom an evil faction is targeting are pretty low - since their role is not only to heal but to keep the evil factions off roled players through the threat of healing inherent to their presence. I think the even-odd rule probably still applies; I'm not recommending it for today, given that we're now one vote away from a lynch, but it's a card to keep in our hand in case at a later date we can't reach a conclusion.

PS. The even-odd rule can be particularly useful in the endgame in situations such as this:

Day n - 3 innocents, 1 evil, 25% chance of success - no lynch

Night n - 3 innocents, 1 evil - night kill

Day n+1 - 2 innocents, 1 evil - 33% chance of success - lynch

Contrast to:

Day n - 3 innocents, 1 evil, 25% chance of success - lynch

Night n - 2 innocents, 1 evil - night kill

Day n+1 - 1 innocents, 1 evil - game over

Again this is problematic when you factor in the healer and couple but I think it's a decent rule of thumb. Going to night is a useful strategy in the right situation.
