i'm gonna have to side with Verb & CTM on this one John. CTM hits this issue right on the head imo

Jack said the survivor win condition is to choose a faction and win with them, or die alone. However, the additional win condition that I've been withholding is that a survivor can stay independent and win at endgame as long as all cultists are dead.

I tried to withhold in order to not give faction-aligned and cult-aligned players the additional info for false claims, and also to see which players worked hardest to get me to reveal this tid-bit of info.

Jack clearly was unaware of the additional win condition.

CTM, Verbal and Red (you) all surfaced as people that didn't "get" what I was alluding to, and wanted the info spelled out.

People may not like how verbose I can be, but my goal, as always, is to elicit participation that could be informative later. I'm thinking we lynch one of Jack, CTM or Verbal, if they flip faction - survivors join the opposing faction, which should give that faction an advantage.

Agreed. In all honesty it just reeks of a GOTCHA case which never sits right with me.

That's pretty much the definition of a survivor. If anyone wasn't aware of this I'd be shocked. But glad to hear that you're with-holding secrets so that nobody can figure them out.

Where is Mynd? I'd have expected him to be in here giving Jack and Ape a run for their money by now.

Ditto.

I'm still waiting for him to show up, tell us all that we've given everything away, accuse half the players in the game of being cult, and propose an insane plan that would probably get him lynched.

That is the definition of a survivor... in a conventional game with 1 survivor.

I can appreciate the smart-ass factor here, but seriously - Jack literally said "join a faction or die alone". He's been selling himself as survivor all game, and nothing about what he has said regarding a win condition, couldn't be gleaned from the opening scene.

The reason I acted like I was with-holding something super-duper important was to see how far some people would stick out their necks to get at the info. Do you really not see what my intentions were there?

I think I milked it for what its worth on D1. It's only valuable info on D1 tbh, the minute a survivor becomes a faction member or cult member, they will share with those alignments what I've been with-holding. So its not a huge deal to open up about it now... we had a few people tip their hands, I don't think anyone else would have.

No. It's not even close. DS is saying that the ONLY way for a survivor to win is to choose a Faction. That they HAVE to choose a Faction. It's not true. A Survivor does not have to choose a Faction. They can choose to remain solo. The fact that DS was spouting that nonsense is why John is saying what he is saying. I don't see how what Jack is saying seems 'obvious' to people. It's completely idiotic.

I believe John, because he basically reiterated verbatim what I already knew. I think he is a Survivor. I've spent all day clarifying with Kivam over win conditions. Jack is lying. He's either already Faction or he's Cult.

Thank you for the veritable cornucopia of info you've given us Mccvain. Once again you've outsmarted us all... Intentionally acting like a rabid baboon to elicit "informative" responses for the benefit of the town. So selfless...

Or maybe you were just acting like your normal dooshy self?

Riddle me this ignoramus. If Jack isn't a survivor how did he know that he has the ability to join either faction?

I'll hang up and listen to your answer.

Mafia rules and player list will be in the next post. For now, a word on this game's odd mechanics.

There are 4 alignments and win conditions in this game:

1) Stark House and Bannermen

2) Lannister House and Bannermen

3) Targaryen Cult

4) Survivor.

The Stark House and Bannermen will win when all of the Lannister House and Bannermen, and all Cultists, are dead. The Lannister House and Bannermen will win when the Stark House and Bannermen, and all Cultists, are dead.

Survivors can win with either the Starks or the Lannisters, so long as they are alive at endgame. And survivors have the option of joining either the Stark or Lannister faction.

And if the Cult wins, everyone else loses.

As you can see, there's (almost) no real town in this game. To the Starks, they (along with the Survivors) are the town, and the Lannisters the mafia, with House Stark as a large mason group. To the Lannisters, the Starks are the mafia. And everyone wants the cult dead.

Buckle up. It's going to be a bumpy ride.

Bump for Pac.

Now I know who I'm voting for on D2.

Just caught up and I think the case on Jack is trumped up to the extreme but then again it's day one so what do you expect? Like CTM, I read Jack's now infamous statement as a strategic/pragmatic judgment rather than a literal statement of win condition. The fact that the Ape has conjured a case out of nothing and is being supported by a select few on it means we get good info from lynching the Ape imo. If Ape flips Stark or Lannister or one of their bannermen, then we need to look at Adella, Far, and anyone else who is strongly supporting the Ape's case on Jack.

Yes I'm going to join a faction. That's how you win. You win together or die alone. And now your voting me for the same reason I'm voting you. To kill a potential threat, or eliminate a member of a team thus influencing my choice of team I'd chose.

By siding with someone ape you don't become one of them, you become a banmerman. There is a difference

This is Jack's original statement, Crusher.

I can totally understand how fat and lazy could completely miss it to the point where I need to go bump it for him, and he could vote me... while skimming and ignoring the actual points being made...
