Sorry for the late response, I was rather bussy with eastern and all :).

Ah, but you have misinterpreted me. I myself have suspicions about Ithillian, and I'm not trying to back her up. She actually seems to be fulfilling her own statement. Also, I don't agree with the idea that the number of posts can accurately determine innocence or guilt.

In fact, I don't think that Ithillian's behavior seems to point out innocence but rather the opposite, as she seems to be grasping at any type of handhold.

Hmmm...

Unvote Mav, Vote Ithillian.

Thats a rather rapid change of the mind...

Northwind is very easily swayed to change his vote. Perhaps he thinks Mav will unvote him and then vote me instead (I am a girl by the way Mav). Anyhoo at the time I made my original vote it was a choice between Mav and Locke because we had no player list and I thought you had to vote for someone and they were having a good old chit chat. I've never played Mafia before but I do play Poker and often the person making the biggest noise is bluffing.

I am a prolific poster its true. Check my post count. I have more posts than someone who has been on DM for ages. I don't see the point in just sitting quietly though. I decided to have a go at Mafia so I could join in and have fun.

Nice one Northwind - my 1st vote. I really feel part of it all now. Mav seems to be quite reasonable actually, and is joining in an making an effort. Northwind has changed his vote just to try and stop Mav from thinking he is scum. Therefore I unvote mav and vote Northwind and that's your lot for the day as its Bank Holiday Friday and I'm having a nice day with my family.

Lies, GIRL stands for Guy In Real Life on the internet.

I joke ofcourse, sorry about that Ithillian.

But nevertheless I have my eyes set upon you two. After reading through the topic I saw the swaying of the crowd, I'll stick to my vote and trust my gut for now.

Your explanation makes sense. I'll say that activity in mafia games is generally more of a play style. Some players are more of lurkers while others tend to post more often. I don't think one way or another is very often a tell. (unless they're behaving contrary to normal or something)

But I do agree about Northwind, though. That was a strange transition from Mav to Ithillian, contradictory even. Unvote. Vote Northwind

I'll admit that I did hope Mav would change his vote, but the switch from him to Ithillian was a result of a combination of extra thinking and indecision in the first place. Since there aren't many clues, I really can't tell for sure if anyone who posted is mafia. For all we know, it is theoretically possible that none have posted at all, however doubtful.

Regardless, my own statements seem to have gotten me in big trouble.

This reminds me a lot of Daes Dae'mar, and by that standard, Cairhien would kill me.

Well, I whon't change my vote, I told you that I'd trust my gut so I'll stick to what I said before. I just haven't seen enough to put a halt to my suspicion.

And most of what has been written sounds rather fishy to me.

Its a rather interesting day 1 however, if you look back ever since Northwind graduatly got unvoted we simply enterred a situation where we are clueless who to lynch. Noone is provoking anyone anymore and if we are to gain a random lynch we might lose a good deal of information and possibly gain a 1day set back in favor of the scum.

Hence I'll stick to my vote.

at Ithi- I don't think it's defensive to call someone a zealot. Tiink's post reeked of scummy zealotry.

In mafia games, I get really paranoid, especially when I am Town, near the beginning, and thus I post kind of funny.

It takes a few days (IRL) for me to get a handle on mafia.

My mafia eloquence is best near end game, when I'm more sure of who to trust.

Vote Mooooooonbecause.. pfft I don't need a reason!

NONE CAN WITHSTAND OUR FAITH!

I don't understand why this is zealous. Am I missing something? Perhaps it is a Mafia thing I dont know about - but it just seemed like a joke to me.

Part of me feels that you have been given a mafia character. You took the time to count the votes and write a list, you explained that the logical person to choose to vote for is Northwind - but then did not vote for him. To me it seemed like you were having an internal conflict in that you pointed to others who they should vote for, because your role as Mafia says that you should do this, but could not bring youself to join in the lynching of an innocent because you are basically a good person. Perhaps this is just first day weirdness on your part , but I dont understand why you would be anxious if you were a Townie.

Perhaps I am reading far too much into this.

Because I get lynched as a townie, a lot.

I take time to count out votes because when I asked the Mod for a vote, the Mod said , See above and the votes had shifted since the above.

Ummm....I have to say, the strangest lynch I have ever seen. I simply don't see what we gain from it.

Vote Moon. I'll change my vote if I have to for a controlled lynch.

I'm really confused now. What if JLS, Moon and Killuliu are all Mafia and they are using MCS departure as an easy way to get a townie lynched.

*note to Blackhoof - it might be a good idea to not give out the player name of someone who wishes to leave in future*

It would be easier to lynch MCS, but he is probably not Mafia so what would be the point. I think he would have stayed playing if he was mafia. I'm going to draw criticism I know but I'm going back to my previous vote as I actually do think Moon is mafia so not voting for her seems madness. JLS and Killiliu are also suspects for me and I'm pretty annoyed at myself for going along with the whole thing.

unvote - Vote Moon

I'm off to bed soon so won't be able to vote near the deadline.

Highly unlikely that they'd all be scum. (or even 2 of them)

As for MCS, I'd say he could be scum or town; it's a toss-up, but due to his relative inactivity so far, I don't want to lynch someone that won't provide information, but that is assuming votes can be consolidated elsewhere in only a couple hours...

That was an odd passage of play

I could see why it could be a good idea to lynch MCS, but... we haven't heard anything from him. We don't know, or even have a clue, who we are lynching. I don't like his inactivity, but if he has asked for a replacement then it's for teh best. JLM has gotten in my bad books for this move. I also don't like the immediate jump on the bandwagon by moon, ithillian, killuliu or northwind. Granted, ithillian removed her vote as she seen the stupidity in the move, but she will still have a little bit of suspicion in my eyes for jumping on it.

Hmm. There may be a chance more than 1 are mafia, with JLM the most likely. I still feel it is unlikely, however.

Well I agree with Locke and Ithilian, you guys just basically nominated yourself as scum by doing that.

Kill, Moon, Jen - Atleast one of you is definitely scum. Jen suggested the lynch on MCS which makes me real suspicious of her as she seems all to eager to lynch him. The other two just eat it up and dive on it.

I'd be happy with voting any of you but I'll go with the other two and Unvote Vote Moon

Posted

Jeez, my last line totally sucks and makes no sense in that last post!

I meant to say, there's a chance of having 2 scum in that badnwagon, and JLM is the most likely.

Who are you guys okay with lynching the most? I'd be fine with any of JLM, Moon or Killuliu.

Sorry that I wasn't on to cast a real vote. I have family in town and so I have been entertaining them and had a busy Easter and such. Kind of bad timing for day 1 >.> I tried to get on earlier but couldn't. I find it highly interesting that lynching someone who was being replaced caught on the way it did. Especially as they can't defend themselves. What if he had been a power role? *sigh* Anyway I will try to be more active now as Easter is over.

Day 1 Vote Count

Song- MCS

Ahmoondai- tinker, Locke, ithillian, vieira

northwind- mav, Tinker

MCS- moon, killuliu, northwind

The deadline has been passed and no lynch has been achieved. As per my last modly proclamation, this will result in a random lynch. I am sorry, i underestimated easter inactivity :\ This is largely my fault and i will not let it happen again.

The town square was abuzz with activity. People were shouting, screaming and bickering to determine who was a heretic, with the Inquisitor inciting even more righteous rage amongst the common people, driving them into a crazed fervour.

Despite this, indecision was rife, with people flip-flopping like acrobats. Even as the sun slowly sank beneath the distant horizon, no-one knew who to lynch. Suddenly, Urmor the Inquisitor ascended the platform once more, and everyone gradually grew quiet. "People of Tarsum!" He proclaimed, "Who has allowed this taint to spread? Who was charged with upholding the faith of this town?" People muttered and whispered, confused at to where Urmor was going with this. The zealous Inquisitor continued, "Who has failed in his most holy duty? Father Solin, the town priest!"

With that, he aimed his chrome plasma pistol straight at the old man, who was struggling to comprehend what was happening to him. Nostrils flaring in rage, Garbium pulled the trigger, and a bolt of bright, sapphire light was sent soaring through the air towards the startled priest. The Imperial Priest began protesting, "No, I-" but he was too late, as his words were lost in the ultra-heated blast that turned his head into ash.

Vieira, Vanilla Townie, was Murdered by Urmor Garbium

Awww how cute you guys think I'm scum for suggesting we lynch someone for no real reason on day 1. Notice I didn't actually VOTE for MCS in the post where I suggested it. The reactions to the suggestions are very interesting though.

Got busy with work and then had to cook when I got home so I forgot to check the thread last night. *shrug*

Lol.. sly :P

I'm still happy with a Moon vote though unless anyone can convince me otherwise. I can't see anything in Vieras posts except her slight disagreement with Kill so mafia probably just wanted to lynch someone who wouldn't really give them anything.

Thoughts?

Or maybe they were afraid we would hang one of theirs, and wanted to lead us elsewhere, ultimately to the lynch that gives away the least: random? And they should have clearly seen they just can't reach the majority before the DL against moon, so they knew they were causing a random lynch, so FOS at Locke and Ithi (especially Locke).

Ofc. this seems as I'm trying to distract the accusations against me (and moon), but we should not let Locke and Ithi only lead us..

And it's night at the moment, so as far as I'm aware, we are not supposed to vote just yet :)

There would not have been much harm done in hanging MCS, we might have lost a bit of an insight of other people's actions, but it would have been a lot better than getting random lynch, and it would have been much more safe. As I've said before, I'm a bit against reading too much into the reactions of people during the first day, as they are just mostly getting used to the game. But that's just me.

@Tinker's post. One, it's night, and two, the death was a random mod-kill, not a lynch...?

Kil: It was 6 hours to deadline. MCS had 3 votes; Moon had 1. MCS had nothing to be suspicious of, no chance to defend himself (and thus could have had a power role), and provided no information. Moon has some suspicious behavior, a chance to defend (likely), and provided information. Yes, deadline was running down, (and I admit, I had myself voting MCS in that post before I changed my mind), but 6 hours is plenty of time for 5 votes to be cast. Also, notice that I said I'd change if I needed to.

This, plus your jump on MCS, and your earlier statement that was pro random lynching makes me rather suspicious of you.
