Hmm, I can see you guys reasoning behind Northwind. He is the only player to have done anything particularly odd. I'm not to keen on the early bandwagoning though. We still have 2 days, we can take that time to possibly find a better lynchee - not saying Northwind won't be it for sure though.

However it is understandable that people would find something weird about my behavior.

I have a tendency to talk myself deeply into holes, no matter how much I try not to.

To be honest, I'm not surprised by the fact that I managed to accidentally cause everyone to suspect me, even if they are false.

Hmmmm it is true that Northwind says odd things. I nearly gave him a good thwapping in the past because of this, so his oddness is not out of character. Didn't someone say acting out of character is a scummy tell. I think I shall unvote for now - as we do have a bit more time to make a case against someone else or more of a case against him.

 

I've also had to look up WIFOM. I completely approve that its from the Princess Bride, as its one of my all time favourite films. Also its use apparently means that not only was mcs late checking in, he is also a lazybones at thinking and is more likely to be scum. Having never heard it before I just think it is funny and it made me smile. Plus the man in black is the best of the best of the best. .

There is a reason why I usually don't like to lynch people on first day, but in these games it's pretty much a must :/

But as Vieira said, we still have plenty (well pretty much at least) of time, so no need to bandwagon yet.

Right now I have no olid opinion on anyone, I have dropped out of all my other mafia games, this is the only one I am in on DM right now. I am deplying overseas and so may or may not be active in this game. So if anyone decides to vote me throughtout the game, don't base it on my activity as i have stated in more than one game I'm not as active as I normally am.

 

I am also with fam and stuff the last couple days, Easter weekend and all. Try to make more of an effort, we'll see.

We just don't see people act on the first day, and we have no idea who is mafia nor who is innocent, so usually the first day lynches are as good as random lynches (though I admit, that's the only good reason to vote the first day; to avoid random lynch).

Hmmmmmm. I am thinking that surely anyone who is scum would not do anything as stupidly obvious as what Northwind did. My other thought is that any scummy people would be trying to hide themselves by pointing out the obvious scumminess of others (like joining in to lynch Northwind), whilst being as bland and un-noticable as possible themselves.

 

This is a lot more difficult than I thought it was going to be.

Hmm.. I can actually see why people think North would be scummy, but I really believe he would act a tad bit more carefully if he was mafia. Yes his early vote jumping and other stuff are odd, but are they enough?

 

I don't really know, but there are two people who have caught my eyes besides north: Ithillian and Songs. But they aren't that scummy either. If I had to vote someone, it would probably be north, but I won't (just yet at least)

 

Then again, if we won't get majority, we will have a random lynch (though, it seems the random vote would be as good as vote with these evidence :D).

Ok, after reading through the whole lot of posts again I'm going to vote Moon, because she was very defensive when I said her initial joke vote for me was very scummy, she was also very defensive when Tinker voted for her. We then get a very bland - what's the current total post and finally this :

I have been trying to think what exactly is making me think Moon is mafia. I've just realised, she isn't acting like Moon. In her normal postings she is really imaginative and eloquent but on here she has just been doing simple, almost furtive postings - apart from the Lynch Northwind post. It just doesn't feel right.

I think lynching day 1 is better than a no-lynch/random lynch as we will likely get at least some information from a lynch, no matter what day it is. If we don't get a lynch, then we are left with only a random NK to go by(unless all mafia have to be on the lynch in this game?). And then we are basically onto day 2 with the same information minus 1 player. Same goes for a random lynch(with the exception of possibly 2 less players). I just see a controlled lynch much more useful to the town than a no-lynch/random lynch.

 

There is only 1 time I see a no-lynch as being beneficial to the town. And that will only occur later on in the game under certain circumstances.

 

I suppose you are correct in saying we don't get to see people act on the first day. I'd say that's due to the phase lengths. But because a lynch is more useful than a no/random lynch, some unfortunate player will end up on the lynch having not been able to play to their style fully. They aren't unfortunate, however, if they are mafia.

Back from a lovely if hectic weekend with family. I'm 50/50 about the day one random lynch/controlled lynch thing but I REALLY do not want to get into a ten page argument about it. If anyone would let me know I can link you to some games with exactly that, literally.

 

That said even though I just read all that, I'm not entirely awake and not really thinking clearly. Going to go find some breakfast with coffee and see if I can make more sense of it when I come back. is there a yawn smilie, lol.

Meant to post this...two days ago, but anyway, this convinces me that you are Town for 2 reasons:

 

1)I used to think about doing this myself, always from an Innocent point of view.

and

2)I feel you deserve an unvote for this, at least for now. >.>

For me it's pretty simple. Lynch someone - get info for following days, no risk of lynching power role, 30 + human intelligence% chance of lynching scum. Random mod-kill - Probably don't get much info. 25% chance mafia dead; 18 1/3 chance power role dead
