Reading words incorrectly.

So I was reading the joke Vambram added to the jkes thread about the wine and the computer, (I laughed).

Anyway, I got to the word 'vegetative', but read the word 'vegemite'.

I got to the end of the joke and reread it because it didn't make sense.

Anyone else?

These may not be reading, but I still think it's kinda funny. . .

My husband once had a spanish teacher who was born in SOuth America {thus, not a native English speaker]

"Can someone tell me the difference between this word 'crutch' and 'crotch'?"

He started the class halfway through the year and had to introduce himself, in Spanish.

He started with "My name is _______, I have 14 buttholes."

Apparently, the word for "buttholes" and "years" is very similar in pronunciation.

And in his nervousness at being "new kid" he gave a bad pronunciation.

I don't usually have as much of a problem with words, but I mix up numbers all the time, especially when I am looking at them,

If I am given a complex addition sequence, for instance

345+678

i am highly likely to mix around the numbers and add

354+687 (or any variation).

It made school hard on me.

It's no where near as bad now as it was then, but it was bad in school

Not only is reading words wrong annoying, but here is a site a found where auto correct messes things up, it has some funny things on it.

Awesome site, Froggy!

I think the problem I always have is I find it hard to tell sarcasm or

playful banter from the other. It's hard to tell sometimes if someone

was just kidding or if they were cleverly concealing their jab at ya.

Personally, I'm a straight forward type of guy. If I like ya, you'll

know it. The same goes the other way as well.

That may be a whole other topic though.
