Yveva, oh I'm sure they will remember. You can tell Sam I finally hada Shiner Boch and it was every bit as good as he said they were. And to April... well hi will do. She taught me Photoshop and it's an addiction I have never kicked!

 

It's odd how DM, a simple internet site has add many long friendships to peoples lives. Friendships that involve noting more then internet chit chat. *pines for the old IRC days *

True, IRC was great and I miss talking to my friends, but this whole real life thing is pretty fun as well. I certainly don't pine for those days but miss my old friends.

when I joined DM last july or august and came straight into the "waiting for CoT" threads! I remember the countdownthread. that was so much fun.. specially when we came down to ten, and people were getting more and more desperate.. haha..

 

and meeting lots of people who loves these books is so much fun, I have some of my best friends here, that I talk to every day, and even a couple not so good friends.. hehe..

Woah, I feel so new here, never tried the RP side of things or anything like that, I was going to just make up some titles for me, or rather steal some from the books.

 

How is best to go about getting into the roleplay bits?

 

And what EXACTLY is meant on here by the term bonded?

 

I first joined after finishing COT, a few months before KOD came out. I particularly enjoyed the crazy theories (the best one I have ever heard is "Loial is actually a *really* big Hobbit"). And I was very fond of the You know you're a WOT fan when... lists. And the Nazi in the discussion thread that wouldn't go away was funny!

 

And yes, the people here are lovely. I find it particularly interesting when people like the same sort of music as me, I was astonished to find so many suggestions of Iron Maiden and Nightwish when someone suggested a soundtrack for the books.

 

Ah well, I haven't been here long, but I'm here to stay.

Anyways - ok my favorite memory this year is none other then I have bonded to the most wonderful man ever! Goldeneys.. he is everything an Aes Sedai needs and could ask for, and then some. And hey, it only took me being a DM member for 3yrs to find him lol. Every moment was worth the wait though ;).

yeah forgot about the difference in time. When we changed to the new system I was a 19... as Slayer, lol that was probably the best thing to d to the Don... made me pretty much immortal. As far as I understand he's still out there in T'A'R somewhere, but theres no storyline for Slayer yet. The second fight in T'A'R was cool, but it didn't have th same flair to it.

lol I remember meeting Emp (or Brian, just for Nighteyes) and his crazy uhhh... friend at Universal Citywalk too. I rode on the bus/train 3 hours both ways for that too btw... jeez, the things I did to see you people. A freakin adventure every time

Too many memories... post-wise, it would still have to be my Plaid Ajah beer bonding to Darren back in April of 2001 (right before the death of DM 4.0, how you are missed!)... in-person wise? I think introducing myself to Kathana back at D*Con '03 then finding her attached to my person was pretty choice :D

 

And yeah... Matalina's bonding was also quite choice; only Warder a gal has ever needed.. not that I've been around the roleplay lately, but perhaps sometime again soonish..

Ah yes the Plaid how i remeber that time. Seems i recall kat coming and trying to take Darks place and he went to the Tower as well for a while. Took a while to get ride of all the pudding from the Stedding no less.
