*Barks a laugh from across the room and continues dancing with my little one*

More men Mirsh... *Using the power to have my voice carry quietly across the din* 5 points to anyone who gets TMD to dance with them.

*Hearing a sigh I look down at Little Miss and once more get lost in her eyes*

May all the Gods that ever existed bless you for eternity.

*Hunts around the room for Bram*

Pray, good Sir Only Slightly Newer to the Tower Than Me, would you take on the monumental task of preventing me from ending up with one these lovely torch brackets (lampshades) on my head by the end of the night?

*Quaffs above mentioned flagon of foaming deliciousness and hopes his fellow newbie will turn out to be a friend*

*Dressed in black formalwear and boots polished to a high shine, I enter the ball*

Ask and you shall recieve my dear ladies

*proffers hand to Mirsh* May I have the honour of this dance?

You look gorgeous there Mirsh, and you already have the offer of a dance...

This is looking fabulous...

Now I need a man to dance with their OL..or are you all too scared...

Good Mistress OL, if we could get some decent Sam Cooke or maybe even a little Drifters on the magical box of musical enjoyment, I would humbly beg the pleasure of a turn around the dance floor with you.

I blame the general mystique of this wondrous gathering for my forwardness. (Plus, that foaming flagon of ale I was given.)

I await your reply to my entreaty with butterflies the size of Volkswagons in my belly.

nothing like a good Flagon to get your courage up..

I'll certainly take that dance DG..

*clicks her fingers and the music changes and offers her hand to DG*

* Bows to the Lady, and takes her proffered hand *

Good, m'Lady, I thank you for accepting my invitation.

As Sam Cooke begins crooning in the background, Lance feels his pulse quicken. Setting aside his trepidation, he knows full well that any of his uncouthness will be hidden in the radiance emanting from his dance partner.

* Begins to twirl the lovely, graceful Talya around the dance floor. *

"I will try good Sir Lance." Bram smiles at the idea of watching Sir Lance dance around the room with a torch bracket on his head. "Though I may not try too hard."

Bram begins searching the crowd once again. His eyes finally lite upon their intend target. The man stood near the door wearing his best brown coat with maiden's kiss flowers stitched into the sleeves. A shirt of white poked out from under the coat and his dark green breeches set off a well turned leg. Bram felt his pulse quicken as his eyes met Bram's and he walked over to where he stood.

"Would you care for a dance?" The stranger, a young man whom Bram had invited to the ball when he had met him on his way to it, was from Caemyln. Bram took the stranger by the hand and led him to the dancing area.

Smiles at Lance as she is swirled round the floor...

Now do i owe this wonderfully dancing to you or the flagon ;)

Is glad to see more people arriving and enjoying the evening as they should, just wait until tomorrow and I have the civies up a dawn, Talya thought grinning to herself..

Ikkarus steals in quietly. He stops to smile fondly at the merriment of the fete he sees unfolding, at the unadulterated bliss revealed only in the bounty of the failing seasons, then finds a table to seat himself where he has an advantage over the sight of the play of light and music, and he enjoys the palpable feel of vitality, of being, in the air as the evening wears old.

TheMasterDude slowly glided into the gathering black cloak billowing behind him. A hush went over the gathered. Those that did not immediately quite themselves were shushed by their neighbors. Since his only bonded disappeared in the fatal gateway accident, he hardly went to these gatherings anymore. No one knew what he might do.

and with that the guests started to dance again, and TheMasterDude stepped into the corner and began watching the festivities, gathering the shadows closer around himself.

Ikkarus, its lovely to meet you! I'm Charis, simply let me know if there is anything you might desire!

*Charis watched in silent bemusement at TMD's dramatic entrance. It was true, he didn't often deign to come to such social events, and she was... honored, yes, honored that he had come. As he settled himself into the shadowy corner, Charis approached and curtsied*

Welcome to the Fall Ball. Please let me know if there is aught you might need.

"*Mensch, out with the lambs, in with the lion*," Ikkarus mutters under his breath, glancing sideways at Master Dude. He turns to Charis, and bows his head respectfully.

"Well met, Charis Sedai. The mere existence of such a congenial event is enough to slack any want and weariness in me, and in that, I cannot thank you enough for its realization. Your graciousness is appreciated, though - if I want for some smaller comfort, I will not ignorantly shirk your offer."

Ikkarus bows in departure...and promptly proceeds to head-bang to the gnarly music that started to play at Master Dude's entrance.

"Wow! That was a much-needed rush ! Any chance for another song ?"

Mae slipped in timidly, not sure of whom to talk to or what to do. She was a terrible dancer and all she had done thus far in her life was mosh at concerts with her pals or doing relaxing silly dances to no music at all... and do the mandatory ridonkulous (I know its not a real word.. But I couldn't help myself.) high school musical dances during the gym classes of her high school days, which weren't as long ago as she wished they were.

Her heart began pumping as she realized what song was on- one of Disturbed(s?) latest hits, and had to control herself not to start a light mosh pit; something she hadn't done in quite a long time. After all she was with a group of possibly well tamed adults.. and she herself should act like one. Sighing to herself she realized she better go thank Charis for organizing the super duper radically amazing ball, and began dancing/bopping her way along the ballroom floor where Charis was talking to the man who had eaten all her brownies at one of her welcome parties, TMD.

And was startled as she saw Ikkarus head banging! She smirked as she neared the group of now three and curtsied, "Greetings Charis. I just came by to give my welcomes, and tell you what a kick-ass party this is." she said, face completely straight.

Upon finishing saying hello to TMD, Charis turned just in time to nearly run over Mae.

Welcome! And Thank you! I'm glad you are enjoying it! Just let me know if there is anything I can get for you! You look lovely, by the way- simply love the dress!

*hoisting a tray of assorted beverages, Charis mingled with her guests, encouraging them to dance*

Ahhh, m'Lady, in as much as the flagon may have inspired the courage needed to approach you, it had nothing to do with the dancing itself.

If I have shown any skill during our turn around the floor, it is due solely to your grace. Whereas as a mirror is not beautiful unto itself before a lady such as you is reflected in it, I am like unto that mirror.

It seems the younger crowd wishes their turn at expressing their joie de vivre. Mayhap, once they have spent their youthful exuberance, this ball will see a return to something that actually resembles music. Should the chance present, I would count myself blessed beyond reason to dance once more with you. If not, the blessings of the night have already been more than one such as I could have dreamed.

I will cherish the memory of this night for all eternity. I would rather the world break assunder than have my memory of tonight fade even the slightest.

* Bows to Mistress Talya and clears the floor before he is headbanged into oblivion *

"Psss. Master Dude. I think Sir Lance is sniping your music," Ikkarus says, getting as close as he would dare to the web of shadows the M'Hael has shrouded himself in, before backing away and approaching Lance.

"If music of the grace and triumph of mankind is what you desire, the other end of the spectrum from the rage and chaos that is embodied in the other music, then you shall have it. I am a creature of extremes, but equally appreciative of both opposing elements."

Finding Charis Sedai, amidst the jubilee, Ikkarus approaches and gives a respectful incline of the head.

"Excuse me, good hostess, but if it does not interfere with your design and mood of this celebration, I would like to bring in a few more musicians to perform a zeitloses Meisterwerk."

I thank you for the consideration, friend Bram. I hope you and your guest enjoy yourselves. As for me, I am intoxicated with joy after my dance with our illustrious leader.

Ahhh, friend Ikkarus, I fear you misperceived me. In fact, such disparaging remarks as I made are just a way for us old folks to admit that you youngsters have - as we did in our heyday - outstripped the previous generation in yet another area.

I do, indeed, thank you for and appreciate your latest offering. A timeless classic for all to enjoy.
