Any thoughts on this? From reading some of the advance reviews, I don't think Moiraine would be killed off right after being rescued. If A Reunion is the first scene involving Moiraine, I would be a tad let down for her to be killed off 4 chapters later right Luckers?

 

We wait 15 years for a character to come back and be taken out say 50 pages later? Hmmmm, something feels off about that.

 

If not Moiraine's death, then what?

I like that this seems to indicate that Rand will return to Arad Doman to fix the situation he left in TGS. At least that is what I hope what happens., that part left a bad taste in my mouth. Even though it was well written.

 

 

Chapter 50-Choosing Enemies

 

I believe this will have to do with Tuon deciding to fight the Shadow instead of continuing to try to dominate Randland. It seems to make the most sense.

One thing you should keep in mind is that very, very few of these chapters are just one thing. The vast majority of them have multiple POVs, and they're not always directly related. There is a great deal of skipping around and back again, as opposed to the 3-4 chapters for this one, 3-4 chapters for that one method we're used to.

 

Bleh, I'm just going with general ideas here for the most part :). Once it gets to the rescue and such, I don't really have a clue what a lot of those later chapters can mean.

 

Not really sure how chapter 49: "Court of The Sun" could be the roughest chapter in the book, for instance. What could involve/happen in Cairhen that's so bad? Has to involve Elayne somehow.

I think I missed something, where was it said that chapter 49 was the roughest?

In reference to 55 I'm gonna point out it doesn't necessarily have nasty implications. Here's from the scene in LoC where Mat and Thom discuss the letter.

 

"Who's the letter from, Thom? Another woman you rescued? Or did you leave her where she could get her head cut off?"

 

"I left her," Thom said softly. Rising, he walked away without another word.

Naw, I'm pretty sure I'm right . Any reference to an animal being 'eaten' for supper like that will certainly be a Mat scene. If nothing else, the chapters preceding it pretty much confirm it in my opinion.

I don't expect individual character epiphanies to happen near the end in the same manner like TGS. Perrin's epiphany will be in or around Judgement chapter, would be my guess. I think the 'epiphany' at the end of this book will be more of a collective one where Team Light realizes how much they've sucked trying to do things on their own.
