The polls are all done, if you haven't voted in any of them you better do so quickly. On Sunday, April 9, the finals will begin.

The tenth poll question is Who is your favorite foreigner?

note: Loial isnt really a foreigner to Randland, but Ogier are seperate societies, and I havent been able to place him in a poll question yet, so I made this one specifically to put him in, and some more of the Aiel which have been under represented (Aviendha).

Poll 1: Who is your favorite Forsaken

Poll 2: Who is your favorite Military Leader

Poll 3: Who is your favorite Aes Sedai

Poll 4: Who is your favorite Land Ruler

Poll 5: Who is your favorite Post-Breaking Pre-Rand Character

Poll 6: Who is your favorite Blademaster

Poll 7: Who is your favorite of the original travellers

Poll 8: Who is your favorite warder

Poll 9: Who is your favorite Asha'man

Poll 10: Who is your favorite foreigner

Oh, yes...

Egwene al'Vere really shows a strong mind, a strong will and a strong sense of honor. There WERE much ji in her decision to become a true chief among the Aes Sedai.

AND she was one of only two Aes Sedai truly worthy of respect. And the only on to understand ji'e'toh

The answer, thus, was obvious...

Definitely need to think about this one a bit. I disagre with Moric about Egewene being one of only 2 Aes Sedai worthy of respect. If I had to choose 2, she wouldn't make the list. It depends how many more times she about faces on her decisions and if she drops her Aes Sedai holier than though attitude. It never seems to take more than 1 person saying something and she completely changes her mind. She never "loved" or even thought about Gawyn twice until she got pulled into his dream... She about faced on the Oath Rod simply because Siuan told her that it was they Oaths that make them Aes Sedai...

I'm still pre KoD so maybe that will change. I haven't seen anything promising though in the first 10 books. Just another book and a half to go for all the plots to be refreshed in my mind...there...

I voted for Egwene, even though she's not exactly qualified, since she's so far only the leader of the rebel Aes Sedai, and thus not technically ruling any land beyond the camp.

But she's shown that she's got it in her to become an amazing leader.

I didnt put Rhuarc because I put him in the military leaders poll, so in this one I put in Bael instead to mix it up a little bit.

I probably should have put in Tenobia instead of Rand. I don't ponder over these questions exhaustively before posting them, I do think on it a bit but I make mistakes... For Forsaken I probably should have replaced Aran'gar with Asmodean for example.

You will never please everyone though, and I feel I haven't had any glaring omissions that will impact the poll in a major way so far (in which case I will restart the poll).

So if you want a Rhuarc or Tenobia (other BL Ruler?) option, start a petition in the thread and if there is enough support, I'll restart it.

As a sidenote: Every option in the poll has at least 1 vote, so replacing someone would have him asking why he isnt in the poll :)

Had to go with Berelain. She managed to keep Tear from swallowing Mayene. She actually wants to do what is needed.

I also agree with Marak and Dionysus.

Cwestervelt> I don't think Egwene al'Vere changes her mind to fast...

First, the Oath Rod: She does have that idea for a while, even if a lot of that is downtime not seen in the books, before she must change her mind.

Second, love: That's a tricky question, to start with, who can understand love? But it would seem that she is a bit in love with Gawyn Trakand before she herself REALIZES it... Better to try to understand the Sun than a woman, after all. And I think the same thing goes for THEM. *Smiles and watches over his shoulder for any Maiden*

Tuon!

One of my very favorite characters.

Cool, collected, observant, graceful, fair-minded; able to bond with conquered queens and cow Seanchan high nobility; perfectly capable of cultivating a friendship with an innkeeper and a child and disdainfully ignoring traitors, thieves, property, and indecently unleashed damane while being kidnapped. Her sharp mind and unshakeable sense of duty may conceal but have not dampened her mischievous nature.

One of my favorite leadership actions of hers we don't even see: as a prisoner, she convinced the world-wise Thom, the Seanchan-hating Juilan, and the rest of Mat's group to not act on his commands and stay in place despite the very real danger hanging over all of them.

has to be morgause, i mean really, she was a great leader without using her body, but her mind and her judgment, so she got a little sidetracked, she had the strenght of will to slide out from under a forsaken's thumb, and one that had her compelled at that, she does waht she needs to to survive and her thoughts even after abdication are centered on preserving her country and putting her daughter in place, who she has trained as a competent ruler.....by the way if GW was on this he would clean up!!!

Egwene is definately attracted to Gawyn when she first meets him. She thinks about him often, but is attached to Rand so is unable to persue the attraction. When she finds his dreams, its after her "break up" so she is able to act on her attraction.

There's some significant time passage between her "break up" and her landing in Gawyn's dream. I seem to remember most of her mooning and thoughts revolving around Galad as well. Even Elayne was getting a little ticked off that it wasn't Gawyn that Egwene kept noticing.

It's funny how different people can pick up on such different points. Probably my male insensitivity. Either that or extreme cynicism. That's actually the more likely.

Well... EVERY woman have problems with concentration when Galadedrid Damodred is around, after all. The man is just too pretty for his own good. So that really doesn't prove anything, you know...

And, yes, you ARE way, WAY too cyncial. Stop that. :D

how come tylin's not on this one. After all, with her ebou dari strength of will she was able to have a toy the likes of mat who not even elayne could keep under control. she even kept ebou dar in pretty good condition when the seanchan came and that just goes to show her ability to adapt.

Mat's not stupid. He didn't have to worry about Elayne trying to kill him but there was a definite possibility of Tylin at least trying and if not her, than Beslan. Mat's biggest motivation when fighting has been staying alive.
