Pia is currently rping several arrivals, along with a 100 weaves class. I'm hoping to have some new pranks/punishments to deal with! I think I will also start a regular chat type thread in the secret whisper hole to keep novices chatting with one another.

 

7) Problems, ideas, etc

Problem was with my extreme business of late. Also, I'm considering a change to the arrival/meet the MoN thread. Not that it doesn't work for most novices, but it is extremely repetitive for me, and thus they don't get much enthusiasm or creativity from me. This is only me thinking so far, but perhaps changing the req from the traditional arrive and be signed in, to having the option for something different, like meet your roommate, discover you can channel, something like that. Particularly for second or third characters, it would be nice to have the option for a little more creativity and freedom. Will keep you posted as I think on it :)

 

Arani was teaching several novices intro to saidar, but has gone on a 3 month loa/lesser activity. However, only 2 classes have been posted. I will pm him tonight and ask him to post, and if no reply I will take over.

 

Also...finding the last posted date is not always easy! Especially for people who are super active in comms but haven't posted that one character for months. The ones above with a ? I gave up looking for the last character related post. Do the rules for the 6 month inactive count for every individual character? Or not rping at all for 6 months? I haven't rped my novice for a few months but I am by no means inactive - so theoretically if I didn't rp her at least once I'd have to do the returning character rp? Even though when I rped her again she wouldn't have progressed timeline wise at all? I just want clarification :)

 

Oh! Thought of another thing hehe...I don't know if the practice still goes, but it used to be that once an accepted declared her ajah, she was added to the ajah's private boards, to better interact and mesh with them, and plan, before their raising. I want to add a requirement to declare their ajah before they post their arches, even if they don't decide until just before. It will help admin wise to have more time to add them, and to allow some excitement for Aes Sedai - they can play with their aspirants and will I imagine, be more likely to if they know who they are.

~ Real problem with activity - Hopefully that will improve with a new gray (Esther) to interact with and help fuel ideas. I really need to brainstorm a good way to recruit from the myriad of novices we currently have

~ I'd really like some feedback on sitters. Currently we have no sitters. Pia is head, but is also MoN, so I don't want the added burden for her as sitter. And my other sister is not sitter material at all, and I don't want her tied to the tower. So...ideas? I could NSW a current gray sitter as needed from one of the many NPCs, but that's one. I don't have a spare character slot for a new PC. I've never loved the idea of people who don't have a grey playing as our sitters but I think I'm left with no other option, unless there are Accepteds who are going gray. Help!

~ What's the status with the Ajah Head rp? Anyone still keen on that? It would be nice to come up with some multi-ajah rps and get people playing again, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot going on at the moment other than all the novices flooding us :)

Perine is obviously still around, though I'm very sure she killed off her red character by the same name. Muirenn was stilled during watchers and I think became a freelander. Telcia and Leona are long dead (i think?) characters, or at least were abandoned for new ones back when it was one char per div. I haven't heard of the others, so either they are super old or came about in my absence between 2007-early 2009. Hope that helps! :)

Very bizarre ... could be that I'm just missing it somewhere - quite often the Handle doesn't appear in the subject of the emails or in the email address.

 

I think between you and Owen you'll need to work out some system that's quick and easy so you know what people have the go-ahead to RP - with the emphasis on quick, since I know you both are working your tushies off *snuggles Lavi and Owen*

 

Btw, I've worked up a list of all the people who are supposedly on the WT member list, with as many of their characters as I could find, as well as their "status" - ie novice, accepted, or Ajah. For N&A I've also got when they joined (didn't put in the March lot), so from now on your report should be much easier, Lavi. All you have to do is keep an eye on the Lil book at the gmail docs, to see who's been added, so you can state in your report who the newly joineds are.

Doing the Meet the MoN thread over and over and over makes you want to scream after a while ... lol

My idea has always been that it's important for the MoN to do at least one thread with a noob, to see if they need help with RPing. Best if that's done with their 1st RP. How you go about that, isn't really an issue, though - so mixing it up is totally fine. Let me know if you want to do it some other way - I'm sure we can work something out  :D

This is doable, as long as it's only declared OOC, and not too long before they're raised. I'm blanking now ... do you send out the Accepted Interview before they're allowed to RP the Oaths? If so, aren't they supposed to declare their Ajah in that? And if so, you can immediately request that they be added to that Ajah's board. Or would that be too late?
