Superbowl (American) Bets Thread

This is a betting thread on the American Superbowl (American football). These betting points come out of your personal pool so as many are needed as are in your pool

 

did this last year, and will do so again, (With a few changes of course)

 

Limits on bets (You can bet your points up to ONLY this amount, and CANNOT bet any more than that is currently in your pool).

ok here's a list of the possible bets (Will possibly accept others just ask).

 

You can only bet up to the amount of points in your pool at the moment (Or you lose element powers)

 

ALL BETTING WIlL CLOSE WHEN THE COIN TOSS IS IN THE AIR, BETS ARE NOT ACCEPTED AFTER THAT TIME (I WILL POST WHEN BETTING IS CLOSED).

 

(These are the current odds, will update them as the week progresses)

Colts winning, ratio 1:1

Colts winning (with 5.5 points minused to final score), ratio 3:1

Saints winning (with 5.5 points added to final score), ratio 1:1

Saints winning (with NO points added to final score), ratio 3:1

 

Guess bets (either team):

 

Total Team yards gained (within 100 yards), ratio 1:1

Total Team yards gained (within 50 yards), ratio 2:1

Total Team yards gained (right on the money), ratio 10:1

Total Passing yards (within 75 yards), ratio 1:1

Total Passing yards (right on the money), ratio 10:1

Total Running yards (within 75 yards), ratio 1:1

Total Running yards (right on the money), ratio 10:1

Over/Under Bet 56.5 points, ratio 1:1

 

 

Misc:

Coin Toss, ratio 1:1

 

This seems about fair

What does the 5.5 stuff mean?

the 5.5 stuff is how many points are added or subtracted from the final score.

 

So say the final score is Colts 14 Saints 10. And you have the +5.5 added to Saints score. So since you have +5.5 your score for winning is Colts 14, Saints 15.5 So you would win.

 

The ratios are say you bet 10 points and the ratio is 1:1, if you win you get 10 points, if you lose you lose 10 points.

 

If the ratio is say 2:1 and you bet 10 points, if you win you get 20 points, if you lose you lose 10 points.

 

Does that make sense now?

I just noticed the point gambling limitations.  I'm a soldier, so does that mean I can only bet 10 points total?  If so, change it to 4 on the Saints winning with no points added, 3 on the Saints for 74 rushing yards, 3 on the Colts for 74 rushing yards.

TMD, who are the Colts and who are the saints and when is the Superbowl?

 

There are a few tnhat won't have a clue about this, it would be a shame to not include them :)

The Saint are one of the American teams that are playing in the superbowl. They have never gone before and this is their first time playing ever in the superbowl. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Orleans_Saints

Question:  For the yardage bets, do you only vote for one or all simultaneously?  For example, if you bet the Saints would get 100 rushing yards, do you have to specify the range?

No you don't its within 75 yards above or below.

 

Just say what the yardage you think they will get is.
