Do any of you honestly believe they can include all the scenes from the books and find good actors for the movie? I honestly think a movie wont work and as much as I would want to see one Id rather just have the mental images in my head than have WB view of the book.

Well nobody would be forcing you to watch :P.

But there's an entire sub-forum for this, http://forums.dragonmount.com/index.php/board,253.0.html

I think a movie can work.  The Lord Of The Rings worked in the movies, though obviously some stuff was dropped, but the movies were awesome in the end.

What worries me is that they would start the movies, and then not get critical mass to continue with it, leaving long time fans disappointed, especially if it IS good.

I'm more of the opinion that a series would work out better than a movie, but it couldn't be television. It would have to be HBO.  ;D

Yes, they'd find amazing actors to do it.

I could be a bit premature in my opinion, but after they come out with Song of Ice & Fire, I would think there would a pretty good indication one way or another.

Just imagine it. They could have voice over narration by...

Morgan Freeman. Just close your eyes and imagine him doing the opening and closing paragraphs of the books. Maybe get him to do the voice of the Creator near the end of the first book as well, just for kicks.

The problem I have is if they make a movie they will have to leave things that aren't important to moving the plot of that first book along. Which is all well and good and the first film might work but if they continue through the series leaving little scenes and minor characters out then later on the films won't make sense if you haven't read the books and only have the knowledge of things that were shown in the films, do you see what I mean?
