[Standard Mafia] 90s Music Mafia - Game Over - Mafia Win!

It has already been <A href="http://www.myndjack.com/forums/index.php?topic=3387.0">seen</A> that some 80s bands succumbed to the lure of corrupting song lyrics and vile immoral lifestyles.  ( ;) )  Do you think that 90s bands are immune to these influences?  Ha! You're very naive!  Sign up here to find out who.

 

Considering there are only 9 players and a couple of newbies I am changing the set up a bit to use the newbie set up adapted from mafiascum.net.  It was used recently on myndjack.  I like it because it has the standard roles, but you have to figure out if all of them are in the game or not.

 

The 6 possible setups are: (I have randomly selected one set up to use.)

 

1 Mafia Goon, 1 Mafia Roleblocker, 1 Sane Cop, 1 Sane Doctor, 5 Townies

 

1 Mafia Goon, 1 Mafia Roleblocker, 7 Townies

 

2 Mafia Goons, 1 Sane Cop, 6 Townies

 

2 Mafia Goons, 1 Sane Doctor, 6 Townies

 

2 mafia Goons, 1 Sane cop, 1 Sane Doc, 5 townies

 

1 mafia goon, 1 mafia roleblocker, 1 sane cop or doc, 6 townies.

Mafia (with roleblocker):

You are XXXX, a Mafia Roleblocker, along with your partner _________ (who is simply a Goon). You had the number ## song of 199X.  Your goal is to eliminate the pro-town players so that your numbers are greater than or equal to the town; you win if this happens. During the Day, try to blend in with the rest of the players, and get someone lynched.

 

You may talk with your partner at anytime, and send me a choice via PM of who you would like to kill/roleblock (your team can do both so long as you live).

 

AND

 

You are XXXX a Mafia Goon, along with your partner _________ (who is a pro-Mafia Roleblocker). You had the number ## song of 199X.  Your goal is to eliminate the pro-town players so that your numbers are greater than or equal to the town; you win if this happens. During the Day, try to blend in with the rest of the players, and get someone lynched.

 

You may talk with your partner at anytime, and send me a choice via PM of who you would like to kill (if your partner also lives, they can send in a separate choice to roleblock someone).

 

 

OR

 

Mafia (with no role blocker)

 

You are XXXX, a Mafia Goon, along with your partner _________. You had the number ## song of 199X.  Your goal is to eliminate the pro-town players so that your numbers are greater than or equal to the town; you win if this happens. During the Day, try to blend in with the rest of the players, and get someone lynched (if that someone is not your partner or yourself, that will make things much easier). You may talk with your partner when it is not Day, and send me a choice via PM of who you wish to kill.

 

 

 

Town:

 

You are XXXX, the Doctor, and you can protect people from harm. You had the number ## song of 199X.  Each Night, you may send me a choice via PM of who to protect; if they come under attack by the Mafia, they will live. You win if the scum are eliminated, so choose wisely at Night, and try to lynch correctly during the Day.

 

Note: Doctors are 100% effective in this game (the person you protect will never die on the night they are protected), unless you are roleblocked. You may not protect yourself.

 

 

You are XXXX, the Cop, and you can tell good from bad. You had the number ## song of 199X.  Each Night, you may send a player's name to me; I will let you know if your investigation shows that they are Mafia or Town. You win if the scum are eliminated, so choose wisely at Night, and lynch well during the Day.

 

Note: Cops always get a correct result in this game (no sanity issues), unless you are roleblocked. You cannot investigate yourself.

 

Vanilla Bandie

You are XXXX, a Townie, and you've got no special powers at Night. No investigations, no protection, no gun to shoot people. Your only powers are the ability to post, vote, and think. Help lynch Mafia during the Day, and you will win the game, along with the rest of the Town.  You had the number ## song of 199X.

Rules:

-Votes must be glowed red for them to count, like this:  [glow=red,2,300]Jeran[/glow]. [glow=red,2,300]Unvotes[/glow] should also be glowed red so that I can spot them easier. Votes may specify a full username, or a shortened version, so long as its reasonably clear who is intended.

-A simple majority of votes (1/2 the number of living players plus one, rounded down) will achieve a lynch and end the Day. Unvoting after that point will not save someone's life.

Days will last up to 72 hours, but may be shorter if the lynch is clinched before the deadline.

Nights will last up to 24 hours, but may be shorter if all night choices are in before the deadline.  You may submit night actions early if you won't be around to meet the deadline.

-Dead men tell no tales. If you get killed, you may make one "Bah!" post and then stop talking until the game is over.

-Do not discuss this game with other players outside of this thread, unless your role PM specifically stated you could do so (as scum, and then only at night).

-Do not directly quote any PMs you receive; I have already posted the roles above, but this holds true for any future messages you receive from me as well.

-Do not edit your posts.

-If you're absent for 5 real life days without advance notice you will be mod-killed.

-Any action which would be illegal to actually do is also illegal to fake (for example, posting a made-up PM that shows a Cop result of guilty/innocent).

I think I'll start this game with just 7 players unless some people sign up at the last minute (which is fine and encouraged).  I've played with just 6 before so there is no problem with 7.  This should be a good first time for the noobs.

The game is now on!  I won't count today as a day because it is normally slow and you may be reading a certain book (I know I am!).  Therefore the deadline for Day 1 voting is Wednesday, November 4 at 9:00 PM EST.  With 9 people living it takes 5 votes to lynch.
