NIGHT ONE

 

Time: 10:18 PM (SFT) – 5:53 AM (SFT)

 

You spend the night awake, huddled alone in the shelter of some fallen statue.  It had been a female leader.  Other than that, you couldn’t tell or recognize it.  Your memory played tricks on you like that.  You could remember the faces of your fallen comrades.  The faces of your fallen foes.  But not much more than that.  The battle was a haze – more a feeling than an actual memory.  Worst of all, you couldn’t recognize the people.  The innocents who had stood in the distance, watching the proceedings of the past day.

 

You knew what they were, but it disturbed you that you didn’t know who they were.  What was this place?  This city?  You couldn’t say.  So much escaped your grasp.  And if that wasn’t bad enough, you couldn’t shake the feeling of jubilation that had arisen in you at the sight of the dead Calendar Man.  What you knew of him was small.  He was a second-rate villain.  A joke, really.  So consumed with dates, he was almost predictable.  True, he was a villain, and he was dead.  That should be enough reason for you to feel overjoyed.  Justice was taking hold.

 

But…was it right for you to feel joy at the death of anyone, even a villain?  Was it truly justice, or simply vengeance?  These thoughts haunted you that night, not allowing you to sleep, even if you had wanted to.  When morning finally broke, you climbed out of your rubble.  You met everyone else at the place where you had hung Calendar Man.  The body was still hanging from the rebar.  No one had bothered to take him down.  Flies buzzed around the corpse.  You looked away.  You didn’t want to feel happiness.  You didn’t want to feel any kind of warmth.  For the day had begun again, and it was time for someone to go.  You may have to kill one of your friends today.

 

Everyone survived the Night.

 

It is now Day Two.  With 14 alive, it takes 8 votes to lynch.

But anyway at least we got the night killer, so there will be no more night kills. All we have to do is pick off people during the day and we do not have to worry about a night kill. This should be an easy game for us.

Well the mod wrote he is the night killer, and there were no night kills last night so, I do not think it is so hard to put two and two together. Meesh are you trying for a gambit perhaps?

I guess it's POSSIBLE that he was the only night killer, but I hardly think we could be that lucky.  I would be amazed if we were, really.

 

And now, with you bringing up a gambit possibility, with no real logical support at all, and trying to further the idea that there are no more night kills, I'm even more suspicious of you.  I wonder if you're a villain, and you're trying to lull the town into a false sense of security by withholding a night kill immediately after the Night Killer has been lynched.

Meesh can I propose a question to you. Wouldn't it cause more confusion if the mafia were to nk someone and cause the town to go in chaos and confusion. That way the mafia could go through and pick at people and try and get a lynch on innocents. But see meesh I wasn't on the LZM lynch, I wish I was but I had some things going on that I do not want to bring up rite now and I was not really paying attention to this game. On the contrary meesh, if the town suspected as I do that we lynched the night killer of the mafia then someone turns uo dead on night one, then it would throw me for a loop, along with some others. Meesh I am more experienced than yourself and that situation would cause me a lot of concern. And then every preceding night there was a nk, I would have to believe that there is a solo win sk, or a town alligned vig, because I do not see DSage giving the mafia two night kills.

Well actually I was rephrasing the essence of your argument in a sarcastic and slightly mocking way, to be honest with you.

I do see your point about the mafia only having one night kill; I just can't honestly believe that it's that easy.  I wouldn't be surprised if there was a back-up night kill or something.  I don't know, my gut is telling me you're wrong and my gut has done me a LOT of good in my mafia games.  I don't depend on it entirely, but I do listen to it.

 

And I know it would be surprising to have people turn up dead after the night killer was gone, but I don't think it would be AS surprising as you seem to think it would be.

Dragon, while the mafia may indeed have been rendered unable to kill at night, I would expect that there are at least other groups that can kill as well. Else this'll be a loongg game.

 

And if we have indeed gotten rid of the mafia nightkill - I would expect the other members of the mafia to have some pretty hefty powers.
