Indeed. I suppose that the AoL was our age, but with magic. Like shocklances (nuclear bombs, big cannons, guns), sho-jumpers/sho-wings, etc, (cars, trucks, planes). I suppose it was modern times mixed with magic and a bit of medieval thrown in, (they mentioned swords and gates and several distinctly medieval concepts or tech)

 

They should do a book detailing in detail what the age of legends was and how they lived, etc, etc.

Actually, there are indicators toward both in the books; the books do not explicitly tell.

The AoL had psychologists, universities, vehicles (both landbased and airborne), lamp posts, hell they even had 2 statues of liberty! Id definitely say the AoL was meant to be our time, but with the One Power replacing technology and electricity/solar energy.
