LedZepMan Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Dang straight it will be. I love all mafia games so far. Wouldn't think of missing any of them
Toy and Minion Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Be wary, Led. For you can become sucked into the world of Mafia and find yourself over-loaded. It happened to me. I was just like you, signing up for every game I could. It takes its toll after a while.
Toy and Minion Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 But it is fun as hell. It's almost worth it.
mmeeshal Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 And that...is where my path forks away from your own, dude. :P
LedZepMan Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 IT is kinda like drinking. Almost worth it
loki redfern Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 and lots of fun too but yea, the theme is usually just like um ..an ironing board cover, you just fit it over the roles the thing about having more than one running at once is if you have enough people, or if you have enough people who want to play two at once (i wouldnt mind but i know when its been brought up in the past some people have said that would be a problem for them)
Barmacral Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 I've been trying to get people to run normal games (with mafia, cop, doctor, 1-shot vig, symp roles only) for a long time now with no success. I'd love to see those run more, because there's several whom I know dislike the themed games and would prefer to play something simple. The newbie games Danya and I scrapped because they weren't really newbie games anymore, they were just normal games because there was so few newbies signing up. I had a plan in mind to start them up again shortly after with certain restrictions, but got side-tracked by school and never got around to it. It is good that they are starting up again. Other games need to be done more often, but nobody ever seems willing to sign up for them. Ilgross once tried to do a game called Diplomacy, and only needed 7 players, but never got more than 5 to sign up, so he couldn't run it. Pictophone is fun, but often got bogged down with people being busy and taking forever to pass the game along to the next person. Perhaps the board should be re-branded as Forum Games? I wonder if the word 'Organized' is scaring people off...
LedZepMan Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Well, I am willign to play anything lol
cosmicpanda Posted September 13, 2009 Author Posted September 13, 2009 Can you mod a game of pictophone, Barmy? I'd like to give it a go.
Club Leader LilyElizabeth Posted September 13, 2009 Club Leader Posted September 13, 2009 Once I'm ready to mod, I will definitely do some normal games, if there's a need. And, thanks for all your thoughts. I'll try not to be intimidated by themed games. Although, I will get my hands on the book and be ready for 1984, if I can. Personally, I really dislike vampires, though. Not sure why. And those seem to be popular.
Toy and Minion Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Quote Personally, I really dislike vampires, though. Not sure why. And those seem to be popular. Just a fad. A fad that has outlasted itself. (Same thing with werewolves)
Club Leader LilyElizabeth Posted September 14, 2009 Club Leader Posted September 14, 2009 I don't have a problem with werewolves or other things that go bump in the night. Just vampires. Oh, and zombies. When something's dead, it should stay dead!
aemonkristen Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 I never understood why zombies never attack eac h other. They are mindleess killing machines, bent on tearing everything apart. But they won't attack each other. Same thing with that desiese in 28 days later and I am Legend. I hate this type of "zombie". I'd rather see them semi intelligent so they can work together, or totally brain dead and attacking everything in sight. Hmm...good plot for my first mafia.
