Dragon's Eggs' effectiveness during TG

Something that came to my mind some time back:

Cover the dragon's eggs (or whatever ammo) with metal then turn the metal into cuendillar.  They would then be indestructible.

Cuendular would only be useful if they used a leather casing with metal beads through it but not connected to each other. Either way it would not matter since no matter what it would rip through and keep going until there was no more energy left. Cuendular would be most useful with the swords or even the bolt tips for crossbows.

The dragons eggs would be most useful early on. But this is based on the assumption that df's arent located inside of Matts army, and that they people he has to inform on how to create the stuff arent df's. Chances are that the shadow knows about gunpowder.

As for posts about the shadow gaining reinforcements form other places, I could see it happening. Shara and Seanchan are in chaos so this would be a good escuse to take people from there and bring them back to randland in order to have more troops.

couldnt the shadow also flank the light by going through the waste? after all a large party of trollocs travelled through there to kill the maidens that the tinker told perrin and elyas about.

Anything made of cuendillar that is used in warfare is not cost-effective. Very few can make cuendillar and in the time to make 10 cuendillar cannonballs, swords or crossbow bolts, hundreds of non-cuendillar could be made. Also, Aes Sedai cannot make weapons for a man to kill another which cannonballs do.

There are Darkfriends everywhere, so I wouldn't doubt there being any in the Band. Others certainly know of gunpowder because the Illuminators have used them in their fireworks for centuries and Mat used it to blow a hole in the Stone in Tear. However, Aludra is the only active Illuminator so we don't know. Eventually, the Shadow will learn of the dragons whether they're using them or they're being aimed at them.

I don't think the Shadow would go through great lengths to get people to fight for them. Just because there's war in Seanchan and Shara doesn't mean they are Darkfriends. At most, they would simply be food for the Trollocs. However, to put a hole in that ship, the Shadow can't really take Sharans or Seanchans because Trollocs can't go through gateways so how would you force thousands of people to come with you with any army on your side?

It is possible for the Shadow to flank through the Aiel Waste, but there's three issues: 1). They Trollocs are petrified of the Aiel Waste and Aiel. 2). There wouldn't be enough "food" to sustain an army through the hot, arid Waste where there's no water. 3). There'd be some form of warning for the Light whether Aiel runners cross the Dragonwall or Aiel Dreamwalkers having Dreams or going to the Waste via Tel'aran'rhiod.

Quick Question: Did Loial and Karldin close every Waygate because if not, that's another way for the Shadow to send troops.

with shara and seanchan I meant the forsaken could go there gather darkfriends and bring them back to fight, not force normal people to fight for the shadow.

and I think loial and Karldrin closed every one they could get too. but moving troops through the waygates isnt cost effective either since macha shin is there

rand could barely move a few hundred at the beginning. but that was when his powers where starting to develop so to say. especially since men tend to grow by leaps and bounds not in a smooth motion so rand would be much more powerful now than back then. It is hard to say how the shadow would attack

I doubt there are enough DFs there to make any real impact on the battlefield. I would rather think that the DFs there would be ordered to stay put, and cause as much chaos at home as they possibly can. Keeping Shara and Seanchan occupied by civil war wold increase Chaos as ordered by the DO, and work against eventual attempts for these places to send reinforcements to Rand. That would help the shadow a lot more than a few hundred (or so) DFs, of whom not all would be trained soldiers.

even if there was no darkfriends in seanchan we know that there is no chance for reinforcements since a war of succession is going on, and even if troops were moved from seanchan to the randland it wouild be to conquer more land.

Yes, we know. As readers, we have quite a unique perspective of what is going on.

The shadow however, their knowledge is a different story. They can not have the same perspective as we have. And it would be outright stupid to count on events staying one way for as long as they need to be that way. All it would take to get reinforcements from Seanchan is for troops loyal to Tuon to secure Seandar. The start spreading the word that Tuon is very much alive. The shadow must count on such a possibility, even if it is not very likely.

This late in the story, I think that Tuon returning to Seandar now is something we can utterly discount.

There's also the fact that Jordan had openly mentioned a 10 year post-TG outrigger novel concerning Tuon and Mat and her effort to secure her homeland.

I'm pretty sure that the Seanchan who are currently in Randland are the only ones we'll see from here on.
