I personally don't think a mass reveal is a good idea. However I have nothing to lose by revealing myself so if the majority agrees I"ll do it. I just think it gives too much to the Mafia.

umm mynd...thats if everyone has a specific role from the manga...and even if they do there is a plethera of characters who arnt minor for people to just invent something from, especially if danya really is pulling characters like Masuda

 

also...how are u masuda? I was thinking u'd be Mello, it fits a lot better then what u were hinting at: + Masuda would likely not have a finder role considering his part in the manga.

Actually, he'd be a naive finder if I read the character description right.  Which means if we are sticking to the story that Mynd can't trust his own readings and therefore feels they are useless which I think he mentioned earlier.  If this is the case..no big deal in him outing his role.

hmm Masuda a failure of a finder...yeah I can definitely buy that. He's a cop trying to find Kira that in the end is actually working for Kira...

 

I was thinking personally he'd have a 1 time vig role or something since he shoots Light a bunch at the very end of the manga or that he'd have some sort of healer role since this saves Near's life, but that does make sense.

 

Still hold by my opinion that a mass reveal is bad, but if it must be done, let it be done

I understand that I have no true, real idea of what's going on.  It's too early to tell.

 

I understand your thought process but given the statement above I'd think an [glow=red,2,300]FOS[/glow] would be more appropriate...but to each his own.

 

To me it really comes across as a new (scummy) player reaching for a reason to vote but can't really back it up.

And we're all just going to assume that we can mass reveal?  No one's going to ask Danya?  I think you're all playing pretty blindly, then.

We don't necessarily need to reveal abilities, because that would be playing into the mafia's hands; however, we should mass reveal as soon as possible so that we don't give the mafia (or in this case, the Kira) a chance to fake reveal.  Remember, the Mafia know who isn't mafia because....they are.  

 

If this were a normal game with only one finder and one healer, then I completely understand that not revealing is the way to go; however, this is no such game.  

 

DSAGE, it ain't in the rules....and if it doesn't say we can't reveal in the rules, then what do you have to worry about?

I never understood the value in FOS, partly because my FOS would be pretty much everyone on the list.

 

This is from the rules link that Danya provided:

Sometimes players (of either team) can have special abilities that can help their team win. These roles are kept secret unless the player chooses to reveal them, they die in a coroner game that reveals roles, or someone else finds out and tells. Each role has many names and many variations so if you get one pay close attention to your role PM and don’t take for granted that it will be like the ‘default’ model.

 

Who is ready to mass reveal and who will be dragging their feet?  Pay close attention to this!

Oh, and I caution those of you about to reveal.....only reveal your character name, do not reveal anything about your powers or abilities, even if they are lame or seem insignificant.  We don't want the mafia to narrow down who they want to kill first. 

 

Another question to those of you familiar with Death Note (or the Wiki page), what characters are likely Kira?  Would Light be considered a bad guy in mafia terms?

Normally, I'd agree with you.  But Danya just posted the link to the basic rules thread.  I would rather be safe than sorry.

I think DSage is dragging his feet on purpose here.  The rules clearly state that it is up to the player, so unless she posted a specific rule that states that you can't reveal, then its fair game.

I'm really not of the mind to post my character now.  I am pro-town but exposing my character may be giving up too much info and I'm undecided on the risk/reward factor.  All I can say is, You win when the threat of Kira is eliminated.
