*walks in to see the tavern's gotten pretty quiet*

 

*walks over to an old Piano in a corner and starts wiping dust off of it*

 

*sits and proceeds to play* sung to the tune of 'Piano Man' by Billy Joel

The Stumbling Soldier on a normal day

The regular crowd shuffles in

There is Corki sitting next to me

Making love to his brew with a grin

 

He says "Friend, do you want to join the Cavalry?

Or The Archers w/ their arrows and bows,

And The Infantry's sweet but they never

come greet the new recruits, Where are they? who knows."

*Lord Horn steps in*

 

Sing us a song, Sir Cav'lry man

Sing us a song tonight

Well we're all in the mood for a melody

and you've got us feelin' alright

 

*Lord Horn clears his throat then sings the next verse*

 

Now Goldy at the bar is a friend of mine

he gets me my Bandy for free

and he's quick with a joke

he's a real standup bloke

This here's the place you'd rather be

 

*Horn nods at Goldy as I pickup where he left off*

 

Cheeks says "Cads, I believe this brew's killing me,"

as the smile ran away from her face

Cads says, "Sure, I could get you some from the bar"

she then dumps it over his face

 

*Kati laughs out loud. Oz gives Goldy a look*

Now Ash here is somewhat of a duelist

He never shys away from a strife

And he's talking with Northie who's still with Sir Corki

and probably will be for life

 

*In a corner, Jea looks up from reading her book*

 

And as Jeannaisais sees Lord Horn's dirty tricks

As invisible men often gets thrown

Yes they're sharing a drink here with Jeannaisais

Well it's better than drinking with Horn

 

*proceeds to work the piano expertly as Lord Horn approaches with beady eyes*

 

Sing us a song, Sir Cav'lry Man

Sing us a song tonight

Well we're all in the mood for a melody

and you've got us feelin' alright

 

*A grizzled veteran steps in as Lord Horn then smiles and sings the next verse*

 

It's a pretty good crowd, Adrian's here today,

As MsDanya then gives him a smile

'Cause she knows that he's busy and he comes here you see

To forget about life for awhile

 

*Adrian returns the smile as I pickup where Lord Horn left off*

 

And the tavern turns out like a carnival

Cause' fights and brawls often starts here

And they sit at the bar, all these people from afar

They say "Man, what a place you've got here?"

*Everyone starts to sing*

 

Come one, Come all, Come and join the Band

Get ready for a song and a fight

With Flaming Shots, Battle Brews and Bandy

Somebody once told me the band is gonna show me

that I can dance with weapons for my breaaad

She made me look kind of dumb with some cherry bomb rum

in the shape of a red hand-print on my fore...cheek

 

Well the weeks start comin' and regiments start luring

Fed to the rules and I hit the taverns brawlin'

Didn't make sense not to fight for fun

Your body gets bruised and your fists get numb

 

So much to do so much to drink

So what's wrong with playing a few tricks

You'll never know if you don't try

Northie'll show ya' if you don't know how

 

Hey now you're an Archer, get your bow strung- go shoot

Hey now you're a Infant, get your blades out - it's all gooot

And aaaall that's brewed is soooold

Only brew teaaaa breaks the moooold

 

It's a cool place and they say it gets colder

Caddy's Icebox cuts the heat like the winter

But some of the other banders actually prefer

those breezy sunny hammocks rockin' by the water

 

The banders' store of patience is getting pretty thin

What with Bob the ghost getting under our skin

My shot's on fire how about yours

That's the way I like it and I never get bored

 

Hey now you're a Cavy, get your saddle on - ride hard

Hey now you're an Infant, grab that chain mail - get your hide on

The infantry in front is boooold

The archers backing them with arrows ten-fooold

 

Somebody once asked could you spare some limbs of yours

I need to get my rusty saw back in shaaape

I said nope what a concept,

A nurse who saws off limbs to be kept

And we might all be a part of that gaaame... :shock:

Well the Nurse starts coming and she don't stop coming

I saw Sheli coming and I hit the ground running

Didn't make sense not to live...in one piece

Your body gets bruised and your bones get broken

So much to see so inviting to invade

So what's wrong with roasting some mutton?
