More than a year..... that was one of the first sample chapters for Feast, for which it was originally slated. A couple other chapters were posted after it, most of which did make it into Feast, and then when Feast was published he put that sample back up. AaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrGGGGGGGggghhhhh! :x :cry:

do you guys read his blog on livejournal? I've been reading it since day one, and last week he enabled comments and freaked out over how many people commented. It was pretty funny. He doesn't realize how much we OBSESS over his work.

I commented (I was rather excited by him turning comments on!! *lol*) and was amused by his reaction. But he has 2000 people reading his Livejournal! It should give him a clue as to just how popular he is.

Looks like ADWD is on track for an early-to-mid 2007 release, which is good news.

 

There is much speculation over what the 'three big ASoIaF' pieces of news are. The common guesses over on asoiaf.westeros.org seem to be:

 

TV show (unlikely, but possible).

 

Third prequel novella being completed (highly likely).

 

Computer game (fairly likely).

 

New RPG deal (after the old one fell apart; unlikely due to GRRM's last comments on the issue).

 

That he was secretly working on finishing off all the remaining books in the series over the last 6 years and Books 5, 6 and 7 will be released a week next Tuesday (and pigs are flying over the frozen landscape of hell as we speak).
