What did Mesaana mean when she said in the Lord of Chaos coffee hour that, there must have been a trap for men around the great holding else Demandred would have had his, meaning a sa'angreal and launched himself at al'Thor.  I would think she meant Callandor but that is in the heart of the stone not the great holding.  Does she mean callandor or could there be another male sa'angreal there?

I think we only know about 3 Male Sa'Angreal (by descrition anyway) and they're:

CK

Cal

the Ring

We have no known knowledge of Demandred using any of these three, so my thoughts would be that he must have had access to another

The Ring?

I've never heard of this sa'angreal...

By the Great Holding I'm assuming you mean the collection of power-rought artifacts in the WT not in Tear. Well it could be easily explained by having wards set up to keep any unauthorised out or anyone with the ability with the OP regardless of gender.

I just listened to that part again right now it says Great hold in the stone of Tear and I doubt the tower would keep any male sa'angreal.

Regarding the Ring, I think he means the Ring of Tamarlyn but I am 99.99% sure the ring is no sa'angreal.

The Ring of Tamyrlin is very unlikely to be a sa'angreal or even an angreal. All sa'angreal we've seen so far are considerably larger than angreal, and no angreal we've seen is smaller than a bracelet. Not to mention that the strongest the sa'angreal, the larger it seems to be, so it is unlikely something as strong as a male sa'angreal, even if it's not the one that is stronger than Callandor, could be a ring. It's more likely it was a symbol of power or something, the way Ishamael worded it. If Lews Therin indeed had a sa'angreal by him right then, it's unlikely Ishamael would have come within ten miles of him.

At any rate, Mesaana probably thought that there would be something in the Great Hold of use to Demandred, that Rand hadn't uncovered. Very likely. And she meant Tear, not the White Tower. When questioned indirectly about the cache of angreal in the Tower, Mesaana only said they were guarded thoroughly, not warded.

I agree with that. The CK provide the perfect example.

But we have seen so few sa'angreal that it wouldn't be fair to rule out that all powerful sa'angreal need to be large.

Remember the one used by Siuan in Healing Mat. That was quite small. Of course it may not be as powerful as Callandor. And Callandor too isn't all that big though considerably larger than most angreal.

There could be another sa'angreal in the Great Holding. That's where Rand got his little fat man angreal from, and I don't think he checked everything in there. And would you leave a huge stash of OP related items lying around without Warding them if you could? He probably inverted the Wards as soon as he knew how, same as he did with callandor, or he did if he had any sense.

Except for Graendal's ring, which is about the size of a ring. Or Graendal could just have really fat fingers. That said, the Ring of Tamyrlin being a sa'angreal is utterly unsupported.

Lanfear mentioned there were two sa'angreal more powerful then callandor that a male may use.  The Choden Cal is the most powerful, but we don't know what the tweener is.  And if Dem or Aran'gar had found it, Mordin would have been toast.

So it's still at large.
