Dice?

I was rereading KOD and was wondering what made the dice in Mat's head change. At first it only let him know of one event at a time. Now it's lets him know of three or four, so why the change. Could it have to do with the last battle coming near.

The dice seem to have a time limit for predicting events so it could be more momentous events are going to happen in a very short time.

No.    This has occured before where he had more than one set at a time.  In Ebu Dar he had two or three sets going at a time.  One set for finding the Cashe of Ter'angle, One for buying the ring, One for meeting Semi & Tuon, One for nameing Tuon "wife", and there were several others - I can't remember them all.    But many of these "dice" overlapped each other.    At least two at a time  - maybe even three.

I am not sure if it ever got up to FOUR at a time though.    There was an incident that he had two sets going and did something where one of them stopped and immediately he had another set start up.    I think he said that it almost made him "cry".

However many sets of dice are rolling in Mats head, each one represents an event that could end badly. Even when Mat doesnt realise it. Hes now getting wiser to it, he knows it is highlighting something important for him. It could be that he can feel his Ta'veren twist about to work.

Either that, or maybe there were several individual things about to happening that needed dealing with correctly. I think Mat is the only one who has these moments where he figures out these oddities. He figured out his luck works with randomness, maybe he'll figure this out as well.

Meeting Semi abd Tuon?  Looks like I missed something.. when was Semi acting as Tuon while in the Tarisin Palace?  Or did I miss something else?  Was Semi Tuon's advisor or something?  WHOOSH over my head if so..

Yes.  WH  US  pB  Pg 420/421    The Dice were jumping around particularly hard (Possibly 2 sets but maybe not) and he goes Storming into Tylin's Bedroom (in muddy clothes) and the Dice all stop very suddenly - that is when he first meets Tuon and Semi (as Tuon's Voice).

Yep.  Tuon's original voice died on the voyage to Randland, most likely at the hands of Semi.  She was posing as Anath or whatever her name was.

I don't think so.    I could easily be wrong but I though Tuon's original Voice fell Down some stairs long before the voyage.

She did too good a job strapping Tuon as a penance.  Tuon was weeping for a couple of days after her last one.  To me it sounded an awful lot like Anath enjoyed it.

In LOC Semihrage is torturing Cabriana Mercandes and thinks about "...her charge.  The girl was willful and obdurate..."  Once I read that, I started thinking who it could be.  Originally I thought she was somehow masquerading as a Wise One and was watching Aviendha, though it didn't make much sense, but as soon as Tuon was introduced in WH, I figured Semihrage was with the seanchan and who else would she be.  By the beginning of KoD, she is disguising herself when talking to Suroth.  The only reason is that Suroth would recognize her in her true face.

I could never figure out why Anath/Semi didn't recognize Mat.
