Day 3 passed like a ghost.

The town stirred with caution, not urgency. After the double blow of the previous night, few dared to raise their voices. Whispers replaced arguments. Eyes drifted, but no one held their gaze for long.

No new alliances were forged. No bold accusations made. It was as though the weight of death had dulled everyone’s edge.

But the vote still came.

Not loudly. Not with conviction. Just a slow, inevitable narrowing of suspicion. And when the dust settled, one figure stood apart from the rest:

A British Officer.

He did not protest. Did not speak in his own defense. He only adjusted his coat with gloved hands and gave the faintest nod—one more order followed in a long career of them.

He turned away with measured steps.

Not disgraced.

Just… dismissed.

He has been erased from the narrative.

And as the sun slipped behind the trees, the town stood still once more, unsure whether they had made a wise decision…

…or just created space for something worse.
