power made armor

so i was reading the other night and a sudden thought hit me.  if a power wrot sword dosentr ever need to be sharpend, and is more or less in destructible, what not make your armor out of it. assedi could make it without viloating three oaths as it isent for killing.  heak make it out of colendar (sp?).  imagin the last battle,,,,,, millions of trollucks swarming up the hill, a thousand knights are all that stand between them and the other side of tarwins gap.  but whats this? they are all in caledar chain mail from head to toe.  trollock swords break as the glance off power wrot shiealds, mydrall are frustrated by not being able to pirce brest plates. meanwhile our indistructible hearos wreak havock, asha man wrot swords and spears running red with trollock blood. as the dust slowly settles, the shaterd reminets of the shadow spawn army beat a hasty reteat back into the blight.

it would still be weak at the joints, as if you cuendar(sp again) the whole thing it all fuses together

*spoiler*

... like the harbour gates in CoT, and i dont think they know the weave for

um and shouldnt this be in wot discussion bit maybe?

i dont think that would work..screws..and it still needs to be artuculated, maybe you could do it with some clever jiggery pokery but it would all be a bit of a hastle, it it does take time to make evey thing, make sure it fits together, and fits people and then takeit appart and have it turned into cuendaer , and most people are very slow at it and only a small percentage are able to learn the weave (?)  and then put it all back together agein, and then that person had disentry in the mean time and didint get back for healing and died, and it doesnt fit any one else and yeh, ..so takes time,

things like shields and hemlets that are mostly one sizr fits all and one pice would be fairly easy i would think, just take you standerd shield and whamo make it heart stone and nothing can break it, as far as joints, would chain link feuze solid? if it would by making it heartstone all at once you could always do it a link at a time, maby anyway, would take a long time, but hay they had to do the likes one at a time for the lord of the rings movies and it dident dawnt them.  i do agree that it probly wouldent be for everyone, it was always verry expensive to be a knight in real life hence why only noble could be, no one ells could aford it. but for a select elite few, say rand, mat and perrin maby a hundred men (the compainoins?) it would make a verry nice little force to through in where the battle was at its worst, where the forces of light where about to break, or maby where the enemy was about to break. napoleon used his  "old gaurd" that way. he would hold them back till the most critical point in a battle and sometimes the verry sight of them in thier unique uniforms would be enuph to make the enemy break and run. anyway i just think it would be cool to have.

It wouldn't have to be Heartstone in order to be power-wrought. When a power-wrought sword is mentioned, they mean one in which the Align the Matrix weave is used and the metal is strengthened with the Power. Theoretically this could be done with armor, and possibly was with the type of armor shown being worn by the soldier in Rand's flashback to the AoL in the Rhuidian columns. However as we don't really know what kind of effect that weave would have on armor then it's hard to say for sure if it'd be possible.

i've asked this before as well. and you wouldn't make chainmail heartstone, you'd make breastplate, shield and helmet. possibly greaves and vambraces as well. they would need loops on the inside so they could be strapped to other pieces of armor as well as hold padding on the inside.

another benefit of having heartstone armor is you could make it paper thin AND it would provide protection from the one power. you would be able to survive a fireball to the chest if you had a heartsone breastplate, might suffer serious singing depending on the splash though

i dont think they know that weave any more though, but i was thinkng that would be an alternative

Well I think that, although she might not have thought about it, I believe Elayne has the capability to do it. She can make ter'angreal, and I remember a PoV from Egwene (or maybe Nyneave) at one point where she remembers Elayne talking about aligning matrices.  So you never know.

i would asumme that working with ter'angreal would be power flow matrices - directing the flows of power channeled into them whereas the lattice of power wrought metal would be the latice of the metal aranged in such a way that it is very stable and very unreactive with an enormous lattice enthlapy, ie two different meanings for the matrix, however i thing that eggy wouldnt have much of a problem figuring it out, its just she hasnt gone down that path yet, but say a power wrought sword fell in to her hands now..
