Why aren't you on that list? (asside from you being a confirmed innocent?) :P

I just have to wonder, what does posting during the night phase, really have to do with anything?

It be like saying 'posting durin the day  means your innocent!

*edit*

You also forgot rufae, who isn't a confirmed innocent.

No confirmed innocents = me, barm, rufae are not on the list.

As far as I am concerned, Rufae is a confirmed innocent.

Given the long night, think through what it could mean

I think the thief is the person who can steal bonestone, and they haven't used that ability yet. meaning if they think someone has it, they can use it on you and steal it. aka, if you have the black bonestone, shhhh?

I believe the thief is out for himself. He can steal bonestone from anyone who picked some up in the cave, as well as any pieces that have been found and not used. I suspect he can pick one person per night to steal from.

The somber mood of the group lingers into the morning, but eventually picks up as everyone starts to compare notes and begins trying to put the pieces of this puzzle together. A list of questions is formed. Where are we being taken? Why does the witch need that particular piece of bonestone?  Why is there so much tension between the Captain, Barm and the witch? You huddle together, trying not to be overheard by any of the crew.  Barm appears shortly, left arm in a sling, but looking no worse for the wear.

“We’re headed to Sel Arren. We’ll be received in The Hall before the Minister.”

You perk right up. That’s exactly where you want to go! That’s were the gold is, and the thought of being one of a very few able to see it is worth all that you have been through.

Barm notices the smiles crack on a few faces.

“Don’t get too excited.” He draws closer to the group, looking first over his shoulder, and then whispering, “The Captain is going try to have us all put into irons. The word is that he has proof that the witch is leading the assassins and that your group was brought in under false pretenses, making you all assassins.” That dampens the mood right away.  This is an incredibly dangerous position to be in. He looks back over his shoulder, watching one pirate in particular. The pirate barley nods back at him. Barm turns back in to the group.

“I know that the witch is not an assassin, and I know that she is trying to help the minister. I don’t know why the Captain is acting the way that he is and I have no idea who killed Talya last night. I will say this one time – stay out of any pirate’s way while you are on this ship. Give no one any reason to confront you. Do not address the Captain unless he addresses you first. And don’t talk to anybody but yourselves.”

He straightens back up, makes a few random comments about the day before and then heads back below deck.

The sunshine is glorious, the water crystal blue, and the day could not be more perfect. You wander the deck, sticking to yourselves, when one of the pirates calls out to you, motioning for you to join a group of them. You start to walk over, not wanting to seem suspicious or afraid.  You look back at the group, see tension in their faces and concern starts to build in your gut.  Barm walks around a corner, catching your eye. He is very subtly shaking his head from side to side. Then he drops down a staircase and is gone. You look back at the pirates and don’t like the look of them at all.  You’ve never run from a fight in your life, but then it’s been a long time since you’ve needlessly started one. You point your finger at the pirates and smile, shaking your head, acting as if you got their little joke, turn your back to them and walk back to the group.  You watch the faces of the others as you draw closer and you can tell that you are being followed. A few hands drift to sword hilts and behind backs. If this happens, you know that your entire group will be cut down, but then that may just be the plan.  From behind you hear one; “Don’t walk away from me…..”

“Ships off of the port bow!” The call rings out from the crow’s nest and all heads turn to the tiny ships on the horizon. Just behind them the first hint of land shows.

Barm is suddenly by your side

“That’s Sel Arren, but those aren’t pirate ships. They’re..”

    “Neiteran”

Everybody looks at SamVimes, a Neitaren himself from the island of Tar’Meghin.

“Any ideas as to what they’re doing here?”

“Not a clue. It’s been years since I’ve even been home”

The crow’s nest sounds off again

“It’s a blockade Captain. They’ve sealed off our port!”

The Captain looks up at the crow’s nest with a look of utter disbelief

    “They’ve done what?”

Barm is hurriedly motioning his good arm towards the stairs. “Get back to your cabins, now! Stay in groups. I’ll come for you when I can.” He mutters under his breath, this is so very, very bad.

*screams in horror*

;)

Okay we'll huddle but you guy better be wearing deodorant. Hmmmm the witch is bad but not bad? Weird.

Rufae stole my deodorant. :(

Posted

I get what Kivam's on about with the night activities. Bears thinking about.

I don't need deoderant because I sweat lavender oil. Okay, we've been told we can trust Barm so I suppose that means the captain is dodgy or mislead. Something to bear in mind for future decisions like the one on the cliff.

I seriously, honestly hope that no one uses the black bonestone. Thinking about it from all possible angles, I just don't see how that would benefit either side, even and especially in desperate circumstances. For an innocent side that sees itself beseiged it would probably be too late to catch three assassins all of whom were completely innocent before. For a lone evil player who sees the noose looming? Maybe. But they'd more than likely become innocent and I feel that in a black bonestone situation the advantage would lie with the cursed assassin role.

Suggestion: if found, turn it in to the witch. Then we'll see, I guess.

So what is on today's agenda? Barm, what do you know about the Neitarens and why they might be here?

**woohoo, found access unexpectantly for a couple hours this morning.**

At the crow's nest call, Sam stopped his small bottle shortly in front of his face. Memories from a life that he thought long lost came flooding back to him. He had been many years gone since he was banished from his home of Tar'Meghin.

On the islands, space is at a premium and every spit of dirt is utilized for growing precious food. Just like the land, the people are likewise used. Everyone is expected to contribute, and he... didn't contribute.

Slowly, he sloshed and swirled his bottle while staring at its hypnotic green tinted glass. You can't contribute on the islands when you all are thinking about is finding another bottle.

Any ideas as to what they’re doing here?”

“Not a clue. It’s been years since I’ve even been home”

“It’s a blockade Captain. They’ve sealed off our port!”

The Captain looks up at the crow’s nest with a look of utter disbelief

“They’ve done what?”

Sam was surprised to hear his own words echoing the Captain.

"But they are peaceful!" Sam blurted out. Showing uncommen stability,he ran to railings. "It must be something very important for them to do such a thing!"

Barm is hurriedly motioning his good arm towards the stairs. “Get back to your cabins, now! Stay in groups. I’ll come for you when I can.”

This is so very, very bad.

"Peaceful, Sam?  Somehow, I doubt that."

Jackdaw is lookng at the ships with curiosity and suspicion when Barm calls them all to go to their cabins.  Slowly, Jack backs up, never taking his eyes off the ships.

All - if you are innocent and find the black bonestone, pass it to Barm, since he is a confirmed innocent who can't be lynched or nightkilled.

GoodGrief - why wouldn't the assassins use the bonestone whenever they found it?

Posted

Because it would do them no good (unless it has different powers for them than for us), that's why.

Why on earth would they want to lose all certainty about who is on whose side and be in the same boat as us (metaphorically rather than narratively speaking, of course)? When the black bonestone is used there is only one assassin, and they don't get to pick who that is. Sheer probability dictates that they will all likely get tossed out into the innocent team, meaning their survival is now tied to finding the new assassin, and the two that come after. And how the hell does anyone go about doing that? Anyone of any alignment faces the same probable outcome when considering using the black bonestone: that of having no clue as to who their enemy is and nothing to work with. Nobody wants to be facing that situation, so I doubt anyone of any alignment will use it. Which leads me to what I'm driving at:

This all leads me to believe that its real use lies in being given over to the witch, as was mentioned somewhere in the dim, dark recesses of page two.

*starts taking my notes on this conversation*

GG, it appears to me that your logic is undeniably, suspicious. If you were a bad guy you wouldn't want us to use it now would you.

*eyeballs GG*

Does that mean the innocents would want to use it, Cleo?  I for one, don't.  It won't help anyone, only hurt us all.  But I think who ever has the bonestone understands this by now.  I hope so, anyways.

[glow=red,2,300]vote:Cleo[/glow] for suggesting an innocent would want to use that piece of bonestone.

GG - what post on p 2?
