All this talk about movies/tv series has got me in the mood

Karl Urban was Eomer, yes? He seems to be a decent actor, but he doesn't have the "face carved out of stone" look that Lan has. That's one of the reasons I picked Hugh Jackman for Lan...he has very angular features. I agree he's a tad broadway...but hey we've got Patrick Swayze playing Thom and the whole dance number at Moiraine's rescue (gotta fit the watermelon line in there somewhere), he'll fit right in.

Only problem with Hugh Jackman is that Lan is like over six feet tall, and Jackman is about kneehigh to a grasshopper! Otherwise I'd tend to agree that he would be an awesome Lan.

I think height is something you'd have to be willing to compromise on in this movie. Everyone in it is either ridiculously tall or spectacularly short.

Um, Hugh Jackman is like 6'3". That was the primary complaint against him as the properly 5'3" Wolverine when his casting was announced.

I'll take reylers word for it but in all the movies I've seen him in "knee-high to a grass-hopper" was never my impression of his height.

Personally, I would rather see small name actors taking on the major roles (With a few exceptions) and smaller supporting actors with a name for themselves. I noticed that some of the actresses (And actors just Mila stands out most in my mind) were from comedys, and personally I don't think they would do well in any role in the movie, simply because I couldn't see them in a dramatic/ epic movie. That is not to say they couldn't do it, just I have a hard time seeing.

Moraine - Carrie Fisher

Cadsuane - Angela Lansbury

Since we're fantasizing...

Moiraine - Carrie Fischer from about 30 years ago is probably my favorite casting choice ever. I adore Carrie Fischer.

My list would be a lot different if I ignored time like that. :)

*bump*

I've got Emma Roberts as a tentative Elayne. I say tentative because I've never actually seen her in anything, but I'm told she can act well enough (and Elayne's not a very complex role), and she's got the right age and look. Maybe just a few years of seasoning so she doesn't look completely out of place making out with whatever 20-something guy ends up playing Rand.

-The guy who played king leonidis in the 300 (can't remember his name) would be good as Lan.

-I think Keira knightley would do good as Berelein.

The big no's are deffinetley Hugh Jackman, Orlando Bloom and Hayden (blood and ashes).

As for Rand, Mat and Perrin (and most of the other big characters) I think it would be better to get someone slightly unknown. A young Johnny Depp would be great as Mat :D .

The three best cast selections in my mind are...

Geofram Bornhald - Donald Sutherland

Dain Bornhald - Keifer Sutherland

Elyas - Mel Gibson

Great stuff. 8)

I would also like to suggest...

Sean Bean as Lan - his age and attitude would fit perfectly.

Cate Blanchett is also a perfect Siuan.

Milla Jovovich as Lanfear - beautiful yet mean looking.

I loved Hugh Jackman as Wolverine' date=' and as Wolverine , he would make a great Lan.....but in all his chick-flick movies he seems like a total wuss. Are you sure he is that tall?[/quote']

Watch Kate and Leopold . . . Jack Nicholson would've made a great Wolverine were he young enough.

I was thinking about making a fade, based on a (famous) actor using photoshop.

Has anybody got some ideas who to use for this? I've been thinking about it but I can't directly think of anybody.

Oh, can't use it if there are no big (or at least medium) size photographs available.
