Not true. I've pointed out multiple reasons why his proposal benefits scum more than town (limits the discussion to fewer players, uses timing to shield certain players, creates a false narrative that there is "Day 1 chaos") and I speculate that this is a "go big or go home" plan.

 

I'm realistic about it - chances are high that it's just shenanigans. But I like to get everyone's view on it. 

I agree that the plan is more benefitical to scum, but I don't agree that means that Darthe leans mafia for it. I think it's something he's thought about doing for awhile, and just proposed it for this game. Him proposing the plan is NAI to me.

I explained it, it's because I've never EVER gotten any reads off of Op's, so it was something that I was verifying cause it was a new experience for me.

Discussion starter =/= distraction tactic. One is inherently negative and the other could be productive. I’m sure there was motive, but it doesn’t have to be negative.

Only one online before I left was BFG and she just shrugged at it. When I came back and read, there were multiple people giving him FoS's for it, so there was really no reason to bring it back up, cause people giving it suss already told me that, yes it wasn't anything to strongly read.

But because it's unusual, does it not bear discussion? 

 

I mean, it's not like we have anything else to do here... I figured we could all kick around the strong-thing-that-Darthe-did to find out of anything shakes loose from it. 

 

Not to mention reading into player's reactions to it.

It's more of an all-encompassing "why". Why does Darthe make such an emphatic effort to dazzle us with a first post? Why does he feel inclined to change his meta? Why does he approach a group with a plan that is highly unlikely to be adopted?

Idk about highly unlikely and it doesn't hurt to ask.  If it's legitimately something he's been thinking about for a while, why wouldn't he throw it out there?  Especially in a game that's got so many regulars?

Its not that you harped on it or not. I just find the rationale for asking if it was silly to be unnatural. Like you either thought the post was Townie or not. I don’t see why other people’s opinion should really affect your’s at this stage of the game.

It was his intention to make that his first post - he planned it for 23 hours. Hence the term "dazzle".

Already went through this - if was a 20+ roster full of noobs, I could see it. But 9 experienced players have no need of a system like that for reasons I've been over a couple of times now.

I mean, I don’t think it’s that unusual for Darthe. I’ve seen him talking about approaching games using math to make reads on wagons and such.

you're right it shouldn't affect my opinion on it, but I wanted someone to change my mind on it, cause it felt weird to me.
