NSW Sisters

Reimara - Very new sister; mentioned in a post.

Former Green PCs:

Lanfir - Burned out & disappeared (while Amyrlin) during/after Caladesh attack.

Sirayn - Disappeared while Amyrlin

Character Development Threads

These threads should be done for every sister. Posted on this board, they will serve two purposes: First, each should include a short, unofficial "Aes Sedai Bio" at the top that tells us about your character and what other Sisters in the Ajah would know or perceive about her (for example, your personality, your general views, past actions, etc.). Since biographies of characters often do not include their time in the Tower (and cannot be edited after approval), this fixes that problem.

Second, the threads will help keep track of old RPs any one particular character was involved with; ideally, all the RPs you've done (that are still available, anyway) should be linked on this thread. Why? Because it's fun to read other people's stories and learn about their character! More practically speaking, though, they help you to keep track of what you have done over a long period of time, and fellow Ajah members may desire to know what their Sisters have been up to these years. We also can learn better about your character this way.

Each Sister should have her own thread, though there need only be one post per thread. The post can be edited to add in new RPs as they are completed.

These are separate from Monthly RP Reporting (see below), which is its own thread.

The desired format is as follows:

Quote

Character as an Aes Sedai:

[Blurb here; what other sisters would know about your sister].

Role-play History

Arranged from oldest on bottom to newest at the top (in terms of IC timeline).

2018

  • RP Title/Link Here
  • RP Title/Link Here

2017

  • RP Title/Link Here

Role-play Reporting

Preferably, RP reporting should be done on a monthly basis. For any role-play threads your Sister is involved in, please [Link TBD]. This is separate, and more detailed, from your personal character development thread. This is where the Ajah Head will come to gather information to pass on to the WT Staff, keeping track of Active sisters.

Current Green Ajah Projects/RPs

This section will list any current Ajah-wide, major RPs.

  • Currently None.

Major/ Important Ajah RPs (WIP) - The List goes from Most Recent (at the top) to the Oldest (at the bottom). This list includes Ajah-related RPs and sometimes major/important Tower RPs that your character could have reasonably taken part in (like Caladesh's attack on the WT).

Greenie Field Trip: The Greens undertake a trip to recover Rashima's Journal from Mardecin in Amadacia where it has been hidden for decades to keep it free of Tower politics. Arath, from the Black Tower, accompanies them.

One Last Stand: 999 NE. Caladesh, a Dreadlord/M’aeshadar, wreaks havoc in the White Tower; Lyanna (Keeper) is killed, among others, and Lanfir (Amyrlin) was burnt out and disappeared. (Caladesh was murdered by Lanfir in his cell; public knowledge is only that he was executed by the White Tower).

Hunt for Namandar: [Green, Brown Ajahs]. A text is found detailing the ruins of a city from the Age of Legends; the Green Sitters (Sirayn, Eleanor, Taya) seek Amyrlin Karana's permission to go investigate it and a missing sister, Tilana Sedai, tied to it. The mission is lead by Sirayn, who is variously accompanied by Kaylan, Jehanine, Lwena, Egwainne, and Raeyn Sedai (Sitter), as well as a few other Browns (NSW AS included: Leilani, Ellvara, Nydylia, Vira, Darealle Sedai). The Aes Sedai are accompanied by their Gaidin and some Tower Guards.

Various events occurred; Lanfir, Lyanna were found after a very long absence; while in the ancient and rediscovered city, the party is attacked by the Forsaken Belal, a dreadlord with him and various Shadowspawn; the body of Tilana and her Warder are found; Leilani and Nydylia are killed; Namandar collapsed into the ocean from the One Power battle that occurred.

Aftermath: While all the Green Sitters are gone on their mission, a Law is passed that requires Sisters embarking from the White Tower on dangerous missions to have the Hall's permission. Upon returning, the Green Sitters strongly oppose and join the Red/Gray faction.

RolePlay Ideas

Anyone can suggest RP ideas; please start new threads for each individual idea for planning.

Things that need doing/ Recently Completed:

  • A definitive Ajah Timeline - (WIP--Who was an Ajah Head or Sitter when? When did sisters become a Green?) [Link TBD]

  • Who is the third Green Sitter?

  • Sisters' Ages when they joined the Ajah (this is for the timeline; please post below what year or your character's age when she was raised AS)

  • Green Ajah Politics - (Complete; Below)

  • Role-play Threads - Find Important Ajah RPs.

Ajah Politics - Green Ajah

Current Allies: Red, Gray
Neutral/Undecided: Blue, White

Opposition: Yellow, Brown

The list is arranged from the Green's strongest allies to their strongest opponents. Keep in mind that the list is mostly a guideline, and an Ajah may sway any way depending on the matter at hand.

  • Red: The Reds formed a general alliance and understanding that was cemented between Jaydena Sedai and Maegan Sedai. The Greens sided with the Reds on allowing researching of male channelers to happen instead of just gentling them. The Greens supported raising Shevara (Red) to the Amyrlin Seat.

  • Gray: Grays and Greens often support each other in the Hall.  The Gray supported the Red to oppose a change in the gentling law and again sided with the Red and Green after another law change requiring Sisters leaving from the WT to dangerous missions to have the Hall's permission. They supported raising Shevara to the Amyrlin Seat.

  • Blue: Ajah relations with the Blue have seen few breaks in their accord for several centuries. However, the Blues opposed the Greens when Lanfir went back on her word to chose a Blue Keeper, choosing a fellow Green instead. The Blues were the last to stand for the raising of Shevara to Amyrlin Seat, which the Greens supported. This isn't to say the Blue won't support the Green in other situations; however, they often oppose Reds by matter of course. Thus for the most part they are considered neutral bordering on ally.

  • White Historically, Whites have often sided with Blues against Reds, and this may affect how they react to Greens in the Hall, since we are allied with the Red but still consider Blues a somewhat-ally despite the current factions.

  • Yellow: Yellows made a faction with Blues and Browns against the Greens after Lanfir chose another Green as Keeper (against her promise to do otherwise) when she was raised Amyrlin. Though the Amyrlin has changed, it is doubtless the Yellows' position did.

  • Brown: The Brown has been at odds with the Greens ever since the disaster at Namandar (an AoL city which an expedition from the WT was sent to investigate) in 996 NE; sisters of both Ajahs were ambushed and attacked by a Forsaken, Dreadlord and Shadowspawn. The Browns further went against the Greens after Lanfir replaced the deposed Karana on the Amyrlin Seat, and were also angered that Lanfir did not chose a Blue Keeper as she said she would.

DM Green Ajah Customs

  • Sitters are called Banner Captains.

  • Greens traditionally bond up to four Warders in the books. However, at Dragonmount this is restricted to *three* Warders.

  • You may marry one (yes, only one!) of your Warders.

  • Refer to the post below concerning having children.

  • Bonding Asha'man: Two of your three Warder spots may be filled with Black Tower members if you so desire. However, because of the purpose of the Greens, it could be looked at as highly disadvantaged in the battlefield to have conflicting loyalties, so seriously consider bonding an Asha'man before you do so.

Ajah Facts and Customs from the Books

  • The Ajah Head is called the Captain-General. This is known only to Ajah Members. Her authority is quite thorough and far-reaching.

  • The Captain-General is assisted by her seconds-in-command, called the First Strategist and the First Tactician.

  • Sitters are called Banner Captains.

  • The Greens became known as the Battle Ajah during the Trolloc Wars.

  • In choosing Sitters, any Aes Sedai may make a nomination. The Captain-General selects one of the nominees.

Eyes-and-Ears Signals

While only a few Sisters in an Ajah know who heads the Ajah's Eyes-and-Ears, signals, which are taught to all sisters within the Ajah, are put out for when they have an urgent message to give any sister of the Ajah that happens by. Signals are only put out when the message is important and must be received as soon as time allows.

  • Crossed daggers, pointed down, with green ribbon tied on both hilts so it hangs down long. This is a very urgent signal.

  • A wreath of ivy decorated with silver ribbon and thorns intertwined.

  • More to be determined further

Important Weaves

These are weaves you will learn as a Green sister.

  • Battle Weaves
  • [More to be determined]

On having kids, as previously posted by U4ea (Loraine):

Quote

NO, you can't have his kids. Or, at least you can't wander the Tower rocking a belly bump. Pregnant Greens are sent away to have their kids and then, the kids are taken away to be raised outside of the mother's sphere of influence. This isn't to be mean, it's to keep the child from being used to get back to you. Keep in mind that we're Aes Sedai, which means we live for loopholes and being allowed to leave the Tower whenever we want, for as long as we want, can usually do a good job of covering up your kid-raising years. You just have to be careful about people catching on and know that when/if you return, acknowledging the child/children is NOT an option. If they happen to come to the Tower to be trained (for whatever reason), you don't want them mentioning who their Mom is. There are very ugly consequences for skirting this rule if you're caught!

The Defender Ranks and their related Battle Readiness Scores (BRS):

  • Recruit: BRS 0-3: This is where everyone who hasn't finished the Oath Ceremony and First Petition. Basically, the almost Aes Sedai...
  • Soldier: BRS 3: This is where everyone who gets through the Oath Ceremony and First Petition will start. If you decide NOT to do the full initiation set of RP's, then this is where you will remain.
  • Defender: BRS 4: This is where everyone who goes through the full set of initiation RP's will be. The full set includes: Oath Ceremony, First Petition, Initiation (the Tour of the Green Halls), Battle Weaves, Midnight Vigil and Second Petition.

The Following Ranks require approval by the Ajah Head AND the Division Leader. If interested, please begin the discussion with the current Ajah Head.

Corporal Defender: BRS 5

Sergeant Defender: BRS 6

Sergeant Major: BRS 7

*Please note: BRS7 is the highest score currently allowed in the White Tower RP Division.

Defenders will be given a weapon to reflect their rank. The purpose of this weapon will be to distinguish them from the other sisters on the field and during formal occasions (part of dress uniforms), but it WON'T be a combat weapon. You wouldn't use it to stab a Trolloc; it's meant to be ceremonial. After coming up with this idea it occurred to me that Sitters and CG should have something similar, so here's the rundown for who gets what:

Defenders- an elaborate katana with gems and other precious metals set in both the hilt and the sheathe. It will probably also have the Green Ajah crossed swords in some place as well as the Flame of Tar Valon. I'm lousy at designing pretty things, so if anyone wants to come up with a more precise description I'd be all ears.

A Defender would continue to use her regular weapon to fight with but wears the colorful katana as a symbol of rank so other sisters can pick her out easily in the heat of combat. It would also be worn during rituals like Rashima's Remembrance and the second petitioning.

Sitters- to reflect their less combat-oriented nature, Sitters will be given a tall, polished staff as their weapon of rank. Each staff will be dark brown in color and engraved with twining vines from end to end in the same pattern present on the shawl of an Aes Sedai. Staffs are a symbol of age, dignity and wisdom, which in my opinion suits Sitters pretty well. Like the Defender's katana it is not to be used as a weapon in battle, not that they see much battle in any case.

Captain-General- the CG carries an ancient Greatsword that has been passed down from Ajah Head to Ajah Head ever since the Breaking. Because the thing is so old it pretty much looks like crap: it was austere to begin with and age has frayed away the wrappings around the hilt and scabbard. The blade itself appears gray and lackluster regardless of how much polish is applied, riddled with notches and pockmarks, broken tip. Basically it looks like Crap, but that's part of the point, since Captain-Generals have also carried it into battle on the rare occassions where the CG takes part in combat, such as the Trolloc Wars. A good deal of the abuse it's taken comes from those times when the sister carrying it was slain and the sword lost, only to be recovered again later. In ancient times it was used as a weapon when the bearer was strong enough, but no longer: it's both unwieldy and in poor condition. The Greatsword is so large it can only be carried in an over-the-shoulder sheathe. Most women look ridiculous wearing it, but I'm of the opinion we shouldn't take ourselves too seriously. The name of this Greatsword is A'vron Shadar, meaning ShadowBane.
