I think there's a realistic chance that Spades is just a villager who got a bit startled

Most of their input besides a couple things has been positive and they are pretty good through ~18 or so

When was I startled?

Specifically the conversation between you and Sooh early. That was the hardest thiing for me to parse; I like your content past that.

Youve only played 3 games you said, have you read any others?

Who have you played with before that are currently in this game and what alignments have you seen these people play?

  • Cordyx-  You feel confident that you know Cory's Town game?  You dont think he could do the Bolded as Scum!Cory?  So Im guessing your read on them is Null to slightly Town?
  • Describe what you think Eld's Town and Scum games look like for me please?  I wanna see where youre trying to draw your baseline from.
  • I tunnel as both alignments so thats Null.  Cory asked me to give you some space so I will for now.  Ill leave my issues to the side for now and just move forward and will see if I need to go back and pursue or drop that particular issue.

Gonna wait till you answer my top questions first I suppose before i go into too many reads list questions my dear.

I haven't spectated or read any games I wasn't in (I did answer this question earlier)

I've played with Bop and Cory in a Hydra game (Cory subbed out of that game after D1) Both of them were V. Last game I played had Eldrick and Darthe in it. Eldrick was V, Darthe was W.

I do not feel confident about Cory, but I have a decent idea just from what I've seen/heard about his play. Bop is also experience with him so I have a second perspective point. With him asking you to back off and generally keeping things light, it feels very similar to his Hydra game. It will take some time, though. I also added that he's a very experience player, and he told me himself he didn't mind playing wolf and had no problems with faking villager in that role.

I've only seen Eldrick as town, and with that he was just so all over the place. He made points that didn't seem logical (some did but most had me scratching my head all game). I have no idea what his wolf game would look like, but right now I'm getting very lack luster content from him. It could be that it's early and nobody has pinged him yet, but as of right now I am weary that he's not standing out more.

I have never played with you, and as much as I would like to trust your word/others, I have to follow your actions. Everyone else is town reading you, but I can't just lock you clear because you're following your meta. Understand I am skeptical of literally everyone but Linz.

I dunno man some of your reads dont make much sense then with your responses here.  Like theyre based on having a fair bot of exp/Meta and a decent baseline to formulate these from.  Like there assumptive but without the stuff I mentioned it dont seem to add as on organic read to me.  Im also pretty high so maybe its just me?!?!?!!?

Sooh has been interested & involved consistently and seems to genuinely be placing the pieces together. She's thinking critically (#343, #348 good examples), nothing she's posted as really concerned me at all. I think to some extent she's aware of what I think her villager game is like (mischievious / playful attitude, generally relaxed) and can emulate it to some degree, but I think the persistent background process is something that she couldn't emulate as easily.

I do think Iron using the term "townspewed" in an entirely different context is way more likely than he just forgot the exchange.  Him trying to clarify is a decent look, as well.  Not sold on him being town by any means but I do feel better about his chances.

[unvote]

Sweet. Thanks for letting me explain myself.

Zander, Serious question for you. If Bop hadn't come out with his penny's a wolf because she subbed out comment (be it a joke or otherwise) how would you be reading them?

Null at best.  Maybe Im stuck in the Tunnel and Ill ef be trying to ISO again before DL and try to go abck over it with a clear mind if possible.

Bop, did you ever say what you liked about Darthe?  I know you mentioned Iron earlier but can't remember if you mentioned him.

straight tone, presence.

Last time i played with him he was a wolf and he was not at all present and when he posted on day 1 it was some awkward thing that i villa read him for incorrectly. While he has been present in this game and i've liked his tone, i think his actual content is lacking. By content i'm saying analysis of whats going on in the game.

One thing i commented on liking was him talking about his scruffy vote which wasn't about scruffy but was more mechanical talk about how to use your vote. I liked/agreed with the talk but i don't think it makes him more or less likely to be a villager since its easy to talk about things like that as a wolf. However since i've liked his tone/presence compared to the last game im not gettign on his ass about things and instead i want to see what he does without people pressuring him to do things they think are villagy then re-evaluate at a later point(that being the end of day or the night phase depending on what happens in the game.

Disagree about the tone and this response is hella confusing.

im gonna talk about why i have cory/clov as slight v's more indepthly but i want to let cory do his thing first and see what he has to say in his catchup.

Really curious to hear your explanation.  Why do you have to wait for Cory?

Alright, I've had enough time to get opinions on most players.

  • Cory/Clov- Really unsure of these two. Cory is showing his village game by trying to step in a keep everyone calm and relaxed. Now that he’s free to devote more time to this, I’m excited to see what he’s going to contribute. Chris is about as Chris as I expect Chris to play. Probably going to rely on Bop to help me with a clearer read on him. So far every feels OKAY about these two and I’m not really getting bad vibes so far. But, they are both very experienced players and I can see them fooling all of us.

  • Sooh- Seems to be very confident in herself this game, bold and not willing to take anyone's nonsense. Getting more of a villager read from her, but that won’t stop me from questioning her actions. When I do question she responds quickly and passionately and I really like that. Her actions don't seem to have alternate motives.

  • Eldrick- Last game I read Eldrick as a wolf all game long. I’m not getting those vibes from him. My main issue for this is that he is agreeing with most of what I’m saying, I’m not sure if it’s because we’re on the same page or if he doesn’t want the heat I consistently gave him last game. Laying low or something like that. I will clarify in saying he was a villager last game but didn’t do anything to prevent a potential mislynch on himself multiple times. Last game he seemed to be pretty bold and had his own really interesting ideas, I’m not seeing that from him this match so far. I’m keeping him neutral for now.

  • Zander- Right now I am worried about tunneling. There is a lot of content between our last conversation and now and he’s had zero input on any of it, just tipping back to having to back off from us. Maybe he’s just really confident that he found a wolf in us, or just frustrated nobody took to his side. I’m hoping to see him look into more people than just us to show he’s trying to solve this game, not just prove a narrative he’s stuck on. Everyone is Town reading him, but until I see him doing some actual work to help progress this game I have to put him in neutral.

  • Cuthalion- Not looking hot for Cuth. Cory said he was busy, but I would really like to hear it from him, not just word of mouth. (Who knows, it could have been in wolf chat :P) Zero content, but we still have another day, so we’ll see. Neutral with easy wolf tilt if we see nothing.

  • Linz-  Clear and really helping me a lot this game, thank you for answering my questions! <3

  • Darth- No idea with Darth. I will say he seems to be playing differently from the last game I was in, where he was a wolf, but that doesn’t give me much confidence considering Cory was sure last game was his Town play xD I see him making some content and comments, but nothing really stands out to me. I don’t get a genuine vibe from him so much, but I could be reading into nothing. Going to have to be Neutral for now.

  • Ted Bundy- This guy kinda popped in, stirred the pot then left. Nothing from him today, no reads or thoughts of any kind. Got a bad feelings about this one so he has a wolf tilt from me for lack of game solving, care or involvement.

  • Ironeyes-  Seems to be trying to catch up, now I hope that they start to really interact with everyone and don’t just read the thread, make a few responses and then leave. I see them focusing on Scruffington a little (which may be an easy deflection to divert attention away from them) None of which really contributed in my opinion. I don’t really have a read on them yet, hope they become much more active tonight and tomorrow. Not enough to lean either way for me so I only have neutral.

  • Aquilla- Where did you go? You posted a tiny bit then left? I don’t know if maybe they forgot about the game or what? They seemed slightly enthused about playing so I’m really unsure as to why they would just leave without any explanation. I kinda want a wolf tilt on this one just because I’ve been told inactive wolfs do this sometimes. Maybe I’m wrong. I just don’t like it.

  • Scruffington- I really want to wait for Scruffington to come back and make some responses and answer a few questions before I try to determine alignment. Right now it reads bad that they had a finger pointed at them and left when it got a little hot. I can only really base my thoughts off how I respond to heat in that I generally don’t care, my job is to find wolfs not prove myself a villager, but I also don’t act without an amount of conviction. The random vote stands out because they have contributed nothing else.

Just for the sake of understanding you, are these in any particular order?

I'm afraid I'll probably disappoint you as far as activity goes, since my standard amount of activity is about where I am now. Thread Leader isn't my style. I will, however, try my best to contribute meaningfully and solve the game. Including making a list of my own in a minute or two here.

you got some reads to share iron?

KK, here's my list. Color coded and ordered by towniness as usual. Scumreads in light salmon just for you, Zander

Lock town

Mrs. Clov: IC

Ironeyes: The mod told me so

Solid town

Spades/Bop: Mostly because of Spades's engagement and obvious WIM

Lean town

Cordyx: Tone read here. Both seem engaged and neither seems manipulative

Derf: Kinda the same as Cordyx. I'd expect scum!Derf to manipulate rather than contribute, as he has been doing

Eldrick: Meta read. His behavior is similar to the last time I played with town!El (a game in which I completely misread him, much to my chagrin)

Null

Sooh: Not sure yet, but I think as the game progresses I'll be able to form an opinion on her soon enough.

Zander: Basically I can't tell if this is town!Zander style tunnelling or scum!Zander faking to draw attention where he wants

Cuth, Ted, Aquila: Not enough info.

Lean scum

Scruff: That vote and subsequent reaction to being sussed wasn't pretty.

So, I'll throw a vote on Scruff for now. We've got almost a day left but I'm comfortable with this train.

Changed Sooh to light green, right above Cordyx, and this is still pretty much my reads.

Can you quote the posts of Soos' in between the 45 mins roughly of your reads list and this post and explain whats changed it please??

Specifically the conversation between you and Sooh early. That was the hardest thiing for me to parse; I like your content past that.

It was the first semi game related thing to really be said and it changed the mood of the thread. My intention wasn't to put pressure on her, but it happens. I think we both know what it's like to have something taken too seriously and someone reacting to it in a way you didn't expect. I don't know Sooh very well and I didn't really want her to get a bad impression (ie; me being really aggressive) of me as a person.

At this point I'm really glad it did get the ball rolling in a way, so I'm kinda happy it was taken seriously. What can you do?

Honestly, I think you're stuck in a tunnel. I think it's some thing we can always come back to in later phases.  I think the more you hone in on it the less likely you are to convince anyone else of it and you're just going to frustrate yourself over it. I don't know that you'd have ever honed in on them with out the whole Penny subbing out ordeal.  I'm going to go back and do a reread soonish and really look at it, and once I do that I'll answer your question you had for me.

What happens in game, stays in the game. You're allowed to push me, call me scum or mafia or say that my reads or approach is bad. It's fine. It doesn't reflect on you what so ever!

I mean, I still adore Z, though he drives me up a wall sometimes

I agree about his lack of content - I know he has a lot of posts, and I know I've seen him posting a lot, but nothing he's said has really stuck with me.  I couldn't tell you a single thought he's really contributed off the top of my head.  I just don't know if it means anything because I've seen him do it multiple times as town (at least early on).

"Disagree" on tone.  I've read several posts that come across as....slimy? I guess...to me.  I won't pretend to be able to effectively toneread him, but it's been something that's just kind of pinged.

I'm with you on the tone. I can't really pinpoint what it is but he just seems... shady? I'm glad I'm not the only one picking up some weird funk from him.

But I feel like I'm not qualified to even try to read someone like Darthe.

Wow you are like on a totally wave length with a lot of players.

Youve agrees a lof with what others are saying.

I know, but I hate making people feel bad and I felt like I did so. I know it's just a game, but I don't like creating a wave unless it's intentional.

Sweet dreams when you get there! <3

Including making a list of my own in a minute or two here.

listies listies i can do listies too! (each group in no particular order)

you got some reads to share iron?

Finish reading the thread, Zander.

*snuggles Spades*

What happens in game, stays in the game. You're allowed to push me, call me scum or mafia or say that my reads or approach is bad. It's fine. It doesn't reflect on you what so ever!

I mean, I still adore Z, though he drives me up a wall sometimes

I know, but I hate making people feel bad and I felt like I did so. I know it's just a game, but I don't like creating a wave unless it's intentional.

Sweet dreams when you get there! <3

I know it's not particularly delicious, but this game is going to come down to working through that Scruffington/Aquilla/Cuth/TedBundy pile. I really have a hard time imagining no wolves in that pile, as unsexy as it feels to sort through > low content people.

Ironeyes is pretty much the only player I don't have at least some good feeling about of more active contributors.

I am content enough with Darthe's thoughts to consider him off the table for today, but he's the least trusted of the remainder.

Interesting that both of you seem to be getting an opposite impression of his posts from me. My only way to read darthe is by scaling him on manipulativity.

That isn't a word, is it...

Anyway, if I see him trying too hard to control the game, that pings. Town!Derf is kinda laid back and comments on what he feels like commenting on. He doesn't mind letting people do as they like.

It's not so much what he's posting and more how he's speaking that gives me a weird feel from him. Not sure how to take someone not really contributing new ideas as a town thing, but again, I don't know that I could read him regardless. I only played one game with him and Cory was convinced he was Town. He was controlling a bit but asking questions and making good points, then after D1 he disappeared O: So we'll see?

Yeah, we'll have to see. Unfortunately I tend to rely on meta a lot, and Derf changes his play style frequently. He's tough to pin down.

lolololol disregard me sking for this Iron....lololololl

Anyone wanna guess my issue with this?!!?!?!?

*sigh...* You have an issue because you aren't in my town section?

Well that is one thing....lolololol

You putting yourself on your own reads list is another....lolololol

Your Sooh read part needs to be addressed as I had just asked in my last couple posts but its also the number of Towns you have after saying you were behind and the basic reasoning for them.  Like just ezpz reasons.

I definitely don't hate the vote on Scruffington. I was tossing around putting one there as well. Every time I scan past that post I hate it a bit more.

[v]Scruffington[/v]

Its not a bad vote but that post is just weird, no matter the alignment. Dunno if that actually constitutes wolfiness or is just getting voted because it's different.

...

But you're voting him for it.

Everyone will be shocked to learn I do not agree with a lot of this.

I do fully agree with his point about sorting through the inactives.  I'm either getting owned by somebody (that's pretty much always Spades/Bop), or I have a list of 6 names for presumbly 3 mafia.
