KK, here's my list. Color coded and ordered by towniness as usual. Scumreads in light salmon just for you, Zander

Lock town

Mrs. Clov: IC

Ironeyes: The mod told me so

Solid town

Spades/Bop: Mostly because of Spades's engagement and obvious WIM

Lean town

Cordyx: Tone read here. Both seem engaged and neither seems manipulative

Derf: Kinda the same as Cordyx. I'd expect scum!Derf to manipulate rather than contribute, as he has been doing

Eldrick: Meta read. His behavior is similar to the last time I played with town!El (a game in which I completely misread him, much to my chagrin)

Null

Sooh: Not sure yet, but I think as the game progresses I'll be able to form an opinion on her soon enough.

Zander: Basically I can't tell if this is town!Zander style tunnelling or scum!Zander faking to draw attention where he wants

Cuth, Ted, Aquila: Not enough info.

Lean scum

Scruff: That vote and subsequent reaction to being sussed wasn't pretty.

So, I'll throw a vote on Scruff for now. We've got almost a day left but I'm comfortable with this train.

lolololol disregard me sking for this Iron....lololololl

Alright, I've had enough time to get opinions on most players.

  • Cory/Clov- Really unsure of these two. Cory is showing his village game by trying to step in a keep everyone calm and relaxed. Now that he’s free to devote more time to this, I’m excited to see what he’s going to contribute. Chris is about as Chris as I expect Chris to play. Probably going to rely on Bop to help me with a clearer read on him. So far every feels OKAY about these two and I’m not really getting bad vibes so far. But, they are both very experienced players and I can see them fooling all of us.

  • Sooh- Seems to be very confident in herself this game, bold and not willing to take anyone's nonsense. Getting more of a villager read from her, but that won’t stop me from questioning her actions. When I do question she responds quickly and passionately and I really like that. Her actions don't seem to have alternate motives.

  • Eldrick- Last game I read Eldrick as a wolf all game long. I’m not getting those vibes from him. My main issue for this is that he is agreeing with most of what I’m saying, I’m not sure if it’s because we’re on the same page or if he doesn’t want the heat I consistently gave him last game. Laying low or something like that. I will clarify in saying he was a villager last game but didn’t do anything to prevent a potential mislynch on himself multiple times. Last game he seemed to be pretty bold and had his own really interesting ideas, I’m not seeing that from him this match so far. I’m keeping him neutral for now.

  • Zander- Right now I am worried about tunneling. There is a lot of content between our last conversation and now and he’s had zero input on any of it, just tipping back to having to back off from us. Maybe he’s just really confident that he found a wolf in us, or just frustrated nobody took to his side. I’m hoping to see him look into more people than just us to show he’s trying to solve this game, not just prove a narrative he’s stuck on. Everyone is Town reading him, but until I see him doing some actual work to help progress this game I have to put him in neutral.

  • Cuthalion- Not looking hot for Cuth. Cory said he was busy, but I would really like to hear it from him, not just word of mouth. (Who knows, it could have been in wolf chat :P) Zero content, but we still have another day, so we’ll see. Neutral with easy wolf tilt if we see nothing.

  • Linz-  Clear and really helping me a lot this game, thank you for answering my questions! <3

  • Darth- No idea with Darth. I will say he seems to be playing differently from the last game I was in, where he was a wolf, but that doesn’t give me much confidence considering Cory was sure last game was his Town play xD I see him making some content and comments, but nothing really stands out to me. I don’t get a genuine vibe from him so much, but I could be reading into nothing. Going to have to be Neutral for now.

  • Ted Bundy- This guy kinda popped in, stirred the pot then left. Nothing from him today, no reads or thoughts of any kind. Got a bad feelings about this one so he has a wolf tilt from me for lack of game solving, care or involvement.

  • Ironeyes-  Seems to be trying to catch up, now I hope that they start to really interact with everyone and don’t just read the thread, make a few responses and then leave. I see them focusing on Scruffington a little (which may be an easy deflection to divert attention away from them) None of which really contributed in my opinion. I don’t really have a read on them yet, hope they become much more active tonight and tomorrow. Not enough to lean either way for me so I only have neutral.

  • Aquilla- Where did you go? You posted a tiny bit then left? I don’t know if maybe they forgot about the game or what? They seemed slightly enthused about playing so I’m really unsure as to why they would just leave without any explanation. I kinda want a wolf tilt on this one just because I’ve been told inactive wolfs do this sometimes. Maybe I’m wrong. I just don’t like it.

  • Scruffington- I really want to wait for Scruffington to come back and make some responses and answer a few questions before I try to determine alignment. Right now it reads bad that they had a finger pointed at them and left when it got a little hot. I can only really base my thoughts off how I respond to heat in that I generally don’t care, my job is to find wolfs not prove myself a villager, but I also don’t act without an amount of conviction. The random vote stands out because they have contributed nothing else.

Just for the sake of understanding you, are these in any particular order?

I'm afraid I'll probably disappoint you as far as activity goes, since my standard amount of activity is about where I am now. Thread Leader isn't my style. I will, however, try my best to contribute meaningfully and solve the game. Including making a list of my own in a minute or two here.

Bop, did you ever say what you liked about Darthe?  I know you mentioned Iron earlier but can't remember if you mentioned him.

straight tone, presence.

Last time i played with him he was a wolf and he was not at all present and when he posted on day 1 it was some awkward thing that i villa read him for incorrectly. While he has been present in this game and i've liked his tone, i think his actual content is lacking. By content i'm saying analysis of whats going on in the game.

One thing i commented on liking was him talking about his scruffy vote which wasn't about scruffy but was more mechanical talk about how to use your vote. I liked/agreed with the talk but i don't think it makes him more or less likely to be a villager since its easy to talk about things like that as a wolf. However since i've liked his tone/presence compared to the last game im not gettign on his ass about things and instead i want to see what he does without people pressuring him to do things they think are villagy then re-evaluate at a later point(that being the end of day or the night phase depending on what happens in the game.

I agree about his lack of content - I know he has a lot of posts, and I know I've seen him posting a lot, but nothing he's said has really stuck with me.  I couldn't tell you a single thought he's really contributed off the top of my head.  I just don't know if it means anything because I've seen him do it multiple times as town (at least early on).

"Disagree" on tone.  I've read several posts that come across as....slimy? I guess...to me.  I won't pretend to be able to effectively toneread him, but it's been something that's just kind of pinged.

I'm with you on the tone. I can't really pinpoint what it is but he just seems... shady? I'm glad I'm not the only one picking up some weird funk from him.

But I feel like I'm not qualified to even try to read someone like Darthe.

Interesting that both of you seem to be getting an opposite impression of his posts from me. My only way to read darthe is by scaling him on manipulativity.

That isn't a word, is it...

Anyway, if I see him trying too hard to control the game, that pings. Town!Derf is kinda laid back and comments on what he feels like commenting on. He doesn't mind letting people do as they like.

Based on the past several games with Darthe as either alignment I feel like this game is not comparable in the slightest.

Also I'm not sure I would, again, based on recent games, describe D1wolf Darthe as very manipulative.

Ted claimed Sailor Venus.  That's inherently null - we know mafia have fake claims, so character claims mean literally nothing this game.

Sooh reacts in a way that expresses doubt/concern?  Why?  Well, probably because she's Sailor Venus.  That was my initial take, and I was even more confident when Sooh essentially told me "Think about it!" when I asked her why she was bringing it up.

Okay, that means Ted lied.  So what?  Yeah, it's not pro-town, but is it scummy when we know mafia have safe claims?  He's not going to forego a legitimate safe claim to make a legitimate attempt at character claiming.  Ted might be town.  He might be mafia.  But his post meant nothing, and my expectation is that Sooh would have known that.

So I ask her WHY she's questioning it.  Like, what's the point?  She says "think about it"...which implies she believes it's significant.  If she's mafia and has Sailor Venus as a fake claim, nobody else is going to know Ted is lying so bringing it up does nothing.  If she's mafia and doesn't have it as a fake claim, she's not going to know whether he's telling the truth.  If she's Sailor Venus (a character that almost certainly would be town), she's going to have a genuine reaction.

TL;DR - I think her reaction to his claim, though pointless in terms of HER ability to solve the game, is incredibly genuinely.  And given it's predicated on her being town, that means she almost certainly is.

It's not so much what he's posting and more how he's speaking that gives me a weird feel from him. Not sure how to take someone not really contributing new ideas as a town thing, but again, I don't know that I could read him regardless. I only played one game with him and Cory was convinced he was Town. He was controlling a bit but asking questions and making good points, then after D1 he disappeared O: So we'll see?

Yeah, we'll have to see. Unfortunately I tend to rely on meta a lot, and Derf changes his play style frequently. He's tough to pin down.

I am very intrigued by your justifications for both Darthe and me.  I don't feel Darthe has contributed a whole lot (though he has done substantially more than many players), and I've deliberately been slanking to be even less active than I would be just from my schedule/availability.

Well TBH my read on your slot is influenced more by Cory than you, but it's also just a comparison. So far in this game, "a lot of contribution" has a low bar to clear since like 75% of the game-related content has been from Zander, Spades, and Linz. Everyone else is kinda far behind, although many of us are working to catch up.

Also it'd be great if you could delineate the reasoning behind this vote a little more.

Spades ask me some questions

What are your thoughts on Darthe/Eldrick this game compared to the last game I played in with them?

I'm finding both of them to be very different from that game. Do you think I'm right in being concerned about Eldrick not seeming to having original thoughts?

So you can tell me what you think about Iron's progress IRT you.  He was null in the original reads list, and now you're just above us....despite...

Iron - you were null on Sooh.  What do you think about my explanation?

I think it's solid, and it town spews her pretty hard. I just can't see any scum being subtle and bold enough to "soft CC" a character claim that way.

I know next to nothing about Sailor Moon, but there is another specific reason why I dislike this claim. I read a little bit about Sailor Moon yesterday after the claim happened, and found out that my character is sort of a main character? So I was thinking PR hunting.

Your Char isnt as important as mine is I bet!!!!

Why are people making a big deal of the character claims?

It says right in the OP that mafia have fake claims, so claims literally mean nothing. I can see some people in this game (darthe, Cory, clov), and can imagine there are some of you I don't know, making fake claims as town or scum for the lulz.

Bold is why I was questioning why Sooh took exception to it.  Either he was telling the truth, he was lying as town, or he was lying as scum, but we have no way to know...barring scum skipping their fake claim and hitting someone that was in the game.

Wait I just figured something out. Are the different heroines in Sailor Moon actually named after different planets?

Yes.  Sailor Moon is the main protagonist, and the rest of her team are Sailor Mercury, Sailor Venus, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter.  There are a couple of other ones as well, and a few heroes that are not Sailor Scouts, but the core ones are named after planets.

I did notice her response to him being "you sure?" or something along those lines which of course lead me to think maybe he claimed her character.

With that, though, I didn't take his claim seriously because it was just a character and not an actual role. Sooh has been taking a lot of people seriously when they are being tongue in cheek (not a bad thing, means shes trying to read through people)

I am reading her townie, but it helps me read you and others when I know the reasoning behind why you're making the reads you are.

Thank you :)

Maybe its just me, and maybe Im still stuck in a tunnel but you seem to have a lot of badwagoning, agreeing, ride the coattails type posts.

Everyone else, am I just stuck in the Tunnel?!?!?!?!

I know next to nothing about Sailor Moon, but there is another specific reason why I dislike this claim. I read a little bit about Sailor Moon yesterday after the claim happened, and found out that my character is sort of a main character? So I was thinking PR hunting.

So youre a PR. Noted.

These 2 posts are pinging me, its prolly just some more lolzander but...FML

So I perused a bit of scruffington's games on MU( a light game and a champs game) And the first few pages of a game on his homesite(battlestar galactica). From what I can tell random day 1 voting isnt a thing but scruffington was freely throwing his vote around as a way to apply pressure but with reason. He also doesnt list the reason in the same post he votes always. He'll either already be sussing the person(in bsg he was critical of someone then later voted) or he quoted a post of someone with a vote and later explained he didn't like the post

In this scenario youre describing above in Bold I guessing he was Town?

Do you have an issue with this?

I never understood why so many people capitalize the "e" in my name.

Also it'd be great if you could delineate the reasoning behind this vote a little more.

I'm off to bed.

You should stay.

But whyyyyyyy??

So you can tell me what you think about Iron's progress IRT you.  He was null in the original reads list, and now you're just above us....despite...

Iron - you were null on Sooh.  What do you think about my explanation?

I think it's solid, and it town spews her pretty hard. I just can't see any scum being subtle and bold enough to "soft CC" a character claim that way.

In terms of what do you mean? His explanation here or how close to the list it came?
